Curse of the Small, Gift of the Mighty.

Prologue

It all started when the characters you know and love were 10 years and 9 years old. A girl at the age of 15 joined the Military as a State Alchemist. This girl was later given the name `Sage Alchemist' for her sage-like alchemy using purple flames. This girl is also known as Laura Mustang, cousin of Colonel Roy Mustang. This connection, however, is unknown, for she changed her name to Laura `Mason' soon after joining the Military. The Sage Alchemist is not as far up the chain as her elder cousin, but she knows much more about the State. She knows of 4 secret Alchemists for the state, that not even the Fuhrer's assistant knew of. These 6 Alchemists, including Roy and Laura, would soon help Edward Elric from a terrible curse that would befall him in a battle against Scar.

 

But there is another Alchemist in our story, age unknown, he was drafted a year after Ed, and given the name `Illusion Alchemist', because his Alchemy allows him to change what we see - to make it seem real, even when not. This Alchemist was also well-known, but not nearly as much as the Fullmetal. He craved the attention, and thus went after Scar.

`You must be Scar, the killer of the Military dogs' a voice from the shadows said. `That would be me, and who are you?' Scar turned to where the voice had come from. `Another one of your targets.' A man stepped from the shadows, no older than Roy, tall with brown hair and blue eyes. `But you are also my target, and thus you must be put to death.'

 

The battle began. It was a fierce fight between Scar and the Illusion Alchemist, but Scar continuously broke free from his `spells.' However, no matter how many times he would go for the Alchemist, he would always fail. Then it was hand-to-hand, they were in a struggle, they both punched and BAM! They both flew backwards into piles of rubble. That's when the two boys stepped in.

 

Edward Elric, age 17. Blonde hair, short in the front and braided in the back. Golden eyes. His left leg and right arm are made of Automail.

Alphonse Elric, age 16. Appearance unknown. He wears a full suit of armor.

 

They had been watching for some time, but now they stepped into fight. Illusion was furious, he was determined to be the greatest Alchemist, and would refuse to be second to a kid. `Leave now, Fullmetal! This is my fight and I will not let you aid me!' He clasped his hands together and shouted `CURSE OF THE SMALL' and a bolt of lightning went straight for Scar. But Edward was more determined to help, he ran straight for Scar and got right in the way.

 

A loud scream echoed threw Central. From his desk, Roy hears it, Riza too. From the station, everyone looks up as they hear it. At the Library, Scieszka pops her head up from a book. The scream is heard all over Central, it is that of Edward Elric as he is hit with the Illusion's attack.

 

Thus, our story begins.
