THE OLD FRIEND AND THE NEW ROMANCE
pt.1 the second meeting

It is once again time for the alchemy exam.Ed and Al are away on a mission.Mustang has some paper work about a new alchemist who wants to become state alchemist.Roy is complaining about his papers, while Ed is on a mission as usual.Mean while Ed and AL are getting even closer to the philospher's stone.Ed was yelling about Roy and his attitude, when they spotted a girl.The girl was beautiful,she had black hair,blue eyes,she was wearing a t-shirt with pants.She was hurt pretty badly.Ed and Al rushed over to see what happened,when she fell over.The ground was slippery since it was raining.Al ran over and caught her before she could fall in the mud.They just couldn't leave her.It was too rainy and it would be dangerous to try to bring her to a hospital in that weather,so they brought her to the inn where they were staying.It has been two hours since they found her and she was still unconscious. Al just kept staring at her, he had a feeling that they knew each other from somewhere in some point of time.Ed told the care taker to look after her while he and Al were out. The Elric brothers left the young girl in the care taker's capable hands.As they left it started to rain harder.The wind blew with a force as the girl woke up.The care taker introduced herself she said" Hello my name is june and i'm the caretaker of this inn ".June went into the kitchen thinking the girl would be hungry. The girl just sat there wondering how she got there.All of the horrible memories came rushing back to her and that she had to go.She starded to turn the doorknob when June came threw the door. June told her how the Elric brothers brought her here and how they would be worried about her if she left without explaining. So she wrote them a note saying" Thank you Edward and Alphonse Elric.I will pay you back for my cost.I have to go. I'll be just fine on my own.". Then she set it down on the pillow where her head was and walked out the door in the rain.June said"not so fast young lady,the Elric brothers brought you here because they were worried about you and that condition you are in.So you can't leave without telling them thank you I won't allow it." The girl sighed and tried to explain that she really had to go but ,June wouldn't let her and told her to eat something.It had been hours since Ed and Al left,the rain just kept getting stronger and stronger.The girl sat silently as she looked out the window and watched the rain.Suddenly the door opened Ed and Al came bargeing into the inn soaked with rain.The girl introduced herself she said"Hi my name is Anna.Thank you for all that you have done for me but if you excuse me I have to go." Ed said"No we have to get you to a doctor.That condition you are in looks searious." Anna sighed and looked out the window at the rain.It was about 1:00 in the morning and it was very dark. They were all asleep when Anna woke up and she ran down stairs to leave before anyone tried to stop her. She started to open the door when she heard someone coming from upstairs so she hid. It was Al making sure that everything was alright because he heard some noise.He didn't see anything in the main area so he decided to check the kitchen.Anna knew what Al would say if he found her so she tried to sneek out of the kitchen before he saw her but,she accidently hit the cabinet with the pans.Al saw Anna and said"you weren't tring to leave were you? You need to go see a doctor and get those wounds treated." Anna started to tell him that she had to go but, she stoped because she knew that he would never let her go.So she walked back to her room with Al following her up. The next morning she woke up to the sun shining through her bedroom window. Anna walked down the stairs and tried to leave but this time Ed stoped her and said"we'll go see a doctor now alright." Suddenly the phone rang it was Roy with another mission for Ed and Al.The mission was to find a girl named Anna.Ed looked at Anna with a strange look on his face.Anna thought that it was a call threating her and her friend's lives. Anna ran out the front door.Ed hung up the phone and told Al that Roy was looking for Anna.Al's eyes widened thinking that Anna couldn't have done anything bad.The two brothers ran out after Anna. Anna kept looking behind her to make sure that the Elrics weren't following her.As she ran it started to rain,when suddenly she fell and twisted her ankle.She knew the Elrics would be looking for her so she asked a stranger if he could help her. The stranger said "No but you can help me" as he knocked her out. see u in the next chapter

pt.2 Anna Kidnapped

"Where am I?"Anna said while looking around. She noticed that she was in a hotel tied to a chair.The stranger walked up with two friends. One of them said" Good she will do nicely.Edward would love for his little friend here to live".
glunty walked up to anna and asked lust if he could eat her. lust answered "Glutny we need her to get the philosipher's stone".envy was looking in a mirror" do i look good or what?". lust said "Envy turn into this girl ". Anna said " it will never work they will figure it out" and spit at lust. glutnysaid"lust can i eat her now? "no we need her for our plan to suceed.no matter how much she gets on our nerves."said lust. Anna was trying to draw an alchemy circle on her chair. envy took on the form of Anna and ran out the door. "they'll never believe that phony al is smart enough to see right through that."yelled anna. envy was tired of hearing the girl's vioce so she knocked anna out. while anna was unconscious she had a dream DREAM
she was about four and was playing with ed and al,when she ran off and got lost. al found her before ed came.then she found out the next day she had to move. she ran away into her secret hiding spot that only she and al knew about. her mother called ed and al's mom to see if she knew where she had gone to. ed told her to ask al,anna tells him everything.al said he didn't know ,then he was quiet for a sec and ran out the door.he found her sleeping(she cried herself to sleep). al gave her a blanket and told her mom that she was ok just sleeping. END DREAM

Back with the elrics. Envy dissguised as anna ran up to ed and al. the elric brothers were glad 2 see her. " what were you thinking? we were worried about you"yelled edward. " don't yell at me fullmetal pipsqueak" shouted envy. "i am not a pipsqueak!"yelled edward. " brother this isn't the time or the place." said al. they were in the middle of the street and people were staring at them. the three went back 2 the inn. al couldn't put his finger on it but,he knew that there was something different about anna. they got a call from roy and he said to bring anna to him a.s.a.p. for the alchemy exam. Ed told roy that she would be there. they all went to bed. envy called lust and told her that things were going just as planned except that anna aplied for the alchemy exam. " just keep playing along." said lust." right."said envy. The next morning
Ed.Al,and envy disguised as anna woke up and headed to the train station. anna woke up and finnaly was able to draw an alchemy circle broke free.anna ran out of the hotel and to the inn that the elrics were staying at. " june, where are ed and al?"said anna. " what are you talking about they went to the train station. don't tell me you ran away again."said june. " why are they going to the train station?"asked anna anxious for an answer. " they said something about an exam and central, i think it was."said june. " oh no the alchemy exam!"shouted anna. "yeah that's it. why is there something wrong?"said june.anna ran out the door and headed for the train station. ed,al,and envy had already boarded the train as it started to leave the station.anna ran to the station and she asked the guy in the booth which train was going to central. "i'm sorry miss it just left"said the man. see you all next chapter


pt.3 The Saphire Alchemist

Anna ran trying to catch the train. she managed to get to the end of the train and jump on. " man i barely made it."said anna. " why are we going to see this roy person? is he like high in the military or something?"asked envy dissguised as anna. " we are going to see roy so he can give you your assignment. yeah he is the lutinet cornel of the military."said ed. "how come you never told us that you were an alchemist?"asked al. " i dunno i guess i just didn't want to tell you."said envy. " i don't want to just bardge in and make a scene,so i'll just sit in with the cargo until the train stops." thought anna. the train ride was long,it took a whole day to get to central. when they arrived at central it was already nightfall. "finally."thought anna, " are you ready to go see roy?"asked ed. "of course, you should be more worried about if you're ready ed."said envy. they all got off the train and headed for head quarters. anna ran out looking for ed and al. she saw them about to go into a hotel and tried to stop them. " hey! alphonse and edward elric stop!"she yelled. al stopped and turned around to see who was calling them. "ed, it's anna"said al. "that's impossible al she is right here." said ed. "yeah i'm right here"said envy still disguisted as anna. "then who is that?" said al pointing to the real anna. anna ran up to them and said "i'm the real anna.". "no i am the real anna."said envy. "who is the real one brother?" asked al confused. " i'll prove it to you"said anna drawing an alchemy circle. anna made a giant hand appear and grab envy. " ed how can u let this imposter do this 2 me?"said envy. "your an alchemist aren't you, you get urself out."said ed. envy looked worried when lust appeard and helped envy escape. " what happened to you anna? and how did we end up with a hormunculi instead of you?"ased al. "when i ran out of the inn because roy called i thought it was someone after me.i ran into gluttony and he kidnapped me, then brought me into this hotel room with lust and envy. they had this plan that if they kidnapped me and held me ransom ,that u would make the philosher's stone."said anna. "well we really need 2 get some rest. we'll go see roy tomorrow morning for the alchemy exam."said ed. envy and lust went back 2 their hide out. "we need to find a new hideout."said envy. "well we wouldn't have to if it wasn't for you." said lust.
THE NEXT MORNING
ed,al ,and anna went to the military's headquaters. ed and anna went to see roy and took the exam. king bradley named anna the saphire alchemist and gave her,her pocket watch. Roy thought it would be a good idea if anna and ed would be partners. " no,what about our agreement you made earlier" shouted ed. anna stared at ed confused. " al why don't you take anna to get something to eat. i'm sure she must be hungry."said roy. " umm sure. come on anna."said al. "sure"said anna still confused. anna and al left the room. " now what about the agreement" said ed. " the agreement will stay the same.i just think that anna would be a big help to you and al in achieving your goal."said roy. " no i don't need any help."said ed. roy showed him anna's application hoping that he would change his mind. " what is this?"asked ed. " that is anna aplication"said roy. " according to this application she has no family and that she has no where to go."said ed . " yeah and when king bradley asked her why she wanted to become a state alchemist. she said that she had always wanted to be a state alchemist ever since she was little and because of a friend."said roy. " oh i see" said ed. " i thought that being you and al have already gotten to know her and are close to her age that you would make a good team. not to mention you three come from a similuar background." said roy. " ok i guess we can try it out and see what happens but, only as long as our agreement stays"said ed. "yeah every word of the agreement stays the same"said roy. about an hour had passed so anna and al came back looking for ed. ed told anna that they would be partners. anna was kinda upset that she had to stay with ed,but not so much because of al. " i think winry will be mad that u are hanging out with another girl ed"said al laughing. " shut up al stop joking around"yelled ed. " winry is she ur girlfriend"asked anna. " no!"yelled ed blushing. " don't be fooled brother likes winry" said al. " oh so ed wants winry to be his girlfriend."said anna . " cut it out it's not like that at all" said ed still yelling and blushing. " well at any rate i really would like to see winry.i mean she sounds nice."said anna. " she really is nice i think you two would be good friends."said ed. "maybe tomorrow we can go see her, it has been awhile since we went visit."said al. "yeah that sounds nice can we ed please?"said anna. "sure why not ."said ed. see you in the next chapter

pt.4 To Resembul
the next morning they got on a train and went to resembul. the whole time that they were on the train anna never said a thing. al was worried that something was bothering her, so he went to talk to her. " is something wrong"asked al. " oh no i'm fine."said anna. "well we are almost there."said ed walking up behind al. anna just kept thinkng about how ed,winry,al,and her all used to play together when they were younger. a couple of hours later they arrived in resembul. when they finally reached winry's house, winry was mad at ed as usual and anna couldn't help but laugh. " so edward who is your friend."asked winry. " winry this is anna. anna meet winry."said al. "did u say anna?"asked winry. " yes why?"asked ed. " you mean you don't remember? we used to know a girl named anna and she should be about her age." exclamied winry. " anna did you used to live in this town?"asked al. " well yeah, i used to play with you three. i was so happy back then."said anna. "if i remember right today is your birthday isn't it?" asked winry. "yes, i didn't think you would remember."said anna surprised. " how come you never told us,that you knew us or that it is your birthday atleast?" said ed yelling. " i didn't really think it was important."yelled anna. " now brother that is enough."said al. "yeah ed. come on inside."said winry. " no thanks i want to go see something first if that is ok."said anna. " of course and why don't you take al with you anna."said ed. " ok."answered anna. anna went to where the elric's house used to be. " isn't this where your house was? what happened why did it burn down?"asked anna. " we burnt it down. after our mother died and we tried to bring her back."said al sadly. " your mother died? when? how? "asked anna. "yes, about seven years ago. she was sick."answered al. "i'm so sorry. wait you tried to bring her back,is that why your and your brother's bodies are like this?" asked anna eager for an answer. " yes."said al sadly. " oh i see.you must have loved her very much. take me to her grave please."said anna in a sort of angry voice. "umm sure."said al not wanting 2 make her any more angry. they walked to the grave marked trisha elric. anna just sat there for awhile staring at the grave. " i'll just let her be for now and sit quietly under this tree."thought al. "let's go back."said anna getting up and walking away looking down at the ground. they didn't say nothing all the way back to winry's house. when anna open the door everyone shouted surprise. they all threw her a surprised birthday party.anna wasn't too happy but she didn't want that to ruin everyone else's fun. that night she couldn't.all she could think about was how things have changed and how sad they all must be. so she got up and walked outside and started walking to where her old house was. when she was half there she saw a man,he had blonde hair and a blonde beard. her eye widen as she remembered who it was," hey you,hoeinheime isn't it.your ed's and al's father"said anna staring at him. " yes and you are?"asked hoeinheim. "i'm anna."said anna. "how do u know my name and who i am"asked hoeinheim. "i used to play with them,when we were younger." said anna. "oh, i see now."said hoehinheim. " you see what?"asked anna confused. " why you came back to reembul."said hoehinheim smileling. " what do you mean. i don't have to have a reason to come back to my home town."said anna nervously. " no,but you came back cuz you like one of my sons and you are looking for them."replied hoehinheim. "that's not it at all. i travel with the elrics."said anna blushing. " so, you do like one of my sons it's written all over your face,"said hoehinheim with a laugh. " yeah so? it doesn't matter anyway."said anna flustered and angry. hoehinheim just started to walk again,"don't wait to long to tell him."said hoehinheim. anna just stared and watched him walk away. anna headed back to winry's house. thinking about what hoehinheim said to her. she snuck back into her room before anyone noticed she had left. she had just a few hours left to sleep before someone would send her a wake up call, so she decided to get some sleep in. a few hours later she woke up to the sun shine piering throught the window onto her face. she sat up and rolled up her sleeve. on her arm she had an alchemy circle. she traced the alchemy circle with her finger as ahe sighed. suddenly there was a knock on her bedroom door. "yes come in"said anna fixing her sleeve. " i thought you might want to take a shower." said winry. " yeah that would be nice.thanx" said anna. anna got up and took a shower. the thought of what hoeinheim had said was still fresh in her mind,like he had just said it. the shower felt so good that she felt so serene,so calm,and so happy until she was brought out the thought by ed's yelling. " oh yeah i forgot that he was here."said anna as she sighed. she turned off the shower and got dressed. "i wonder what's wrong with me lately? i'm not myself .i just keep thinking about when i was younger, how happy i was."said anna walking through the hall. " anna how about we go to the park? i mean didn't we used to hang out there all the time when we were little?"said al. "huh? umm sure."said anna surprised. "come on anna"said al holding out his hand. anna just stoped and paused. al reached out and held her hand. they headed for the park. they sat down on a bench in the middle of the park. anna was bright red because she had been blushing. "are you ok you look alittle red?"asked al worridly. "oh i'm fine sorry to have worrird you."said anna smileling. "stay here. 'i ll be right back.said al getting up. "what am i doing? i must seem so stupid."thought anna as she lightly slapt her face. "what are you doing? why are u slapping yourself?" asked a little boy. " oh it's nothing i was just thinking and trying to snap out of the thought."said anna with a smile. " well don't hurt yorself ok. i don't like to be hurt so i don't think you would either."said the boy. al walked up with scraps of metal and put the pile on the ground. he drew a transmutation circle around the metal and made a metal rose for anna. " here anna this is for you." al said handing her the rose. " it's beautiful."said anna starting to blush again. "i'm glad you like it." al replied. "ohhh kissy kissy." said the little boy making kissy faces and noises. anna and al both looked away blushing. " well it's getting late we better be heading back." said anna. "yeah."said al. " awwww that's it?you guys are no fun."said the boy. " well we got to go my brother will be worried about us."said al. they said bye to the boy and started to walk back to the house.


pt.5 Anna's First Mission


they walked in the house as the phone rang. ed answered the phone. " ed we a mission for you in xenotime. i heard some rumors about the philosipher's stone and hormunculi."said roy on the phone. " right we'll leave right away and head for xenotime."said ed . "i'll meet u in xenotime ."said roy "fine."said ed hanging up the phone. "xenotime? is that a town?"asked anna. "yes it is. brother and me went there before."said al. " is they're any cute boys in that town?" asked anna jokingly. "i only meet two guys their names are Russel and Fletcher."said ed. " anna y do u wanna know that?" asked al in a sad voice. anna looked at al " i was only joking. i'm not interested in someone from a town with as weird of a name as xenotime."replied anna. " really?"asked al sounding kinda happy. "yeah of couse."said anna. "i'm sorry to interupt but we need to get going."said ed. "oh ummm ed before you go i wanna tell you something."said winry. "sure what is it?"asked ed cautously. "ummm oh nevermind. you guys should leave right away." said winry. ed and al walked to their rooms to go pack,leaving anna and winry by themselves. " so u like him, don't you?"said anna. " huh? who ed? umm no"said winry blushing. " u do it's written all over your face. aww how cute."replied anna. "yeah well what about you."yelled winry.(she thought anna was being sarcastic) "what about me? "asked anna surprised. "why are you such a jerk i mean being sarcastic about that,unless u like ed!!!!"yelled winry " me like ed *ugh* no way. oh and i wasn't being sarcatic i really think that you and ed would make a cute couple" said anna. "really?"asked winry surprised. "yeah duh"said anna with a slight laugh. "anayway i better go pack"said anna walking into her room. about an hour later they were at the train station. they all said their good byes to eachother and left. "so do u do this alot?"asked anna. "do what alot?"asked ed. " travel i mean."replied anna. "well yeah, u didn't just think that u would just stay in one town did u?"asked ed. "no,but i thought that is would be totally different u know."said anna kinda sad. "cheer up."said al walking up and sitting next to anna. " i guess ur right."said anna with a smile. "ed haven't u told winry yet?"asked anna curiously. "what do u mean told her what?"asked ed confused. "that u like her."said anna with a slight laugh. "yeah big brother why haven't u."asked al. "cuz it doesn't matter she doesn't feel that way about me."said ed with a sad expression on his face. "how would u know u never told her.she might like u back."said anna. "really u think so."asked ed excitedly. "it is possible."replied anna. al kinda laughed at the thought of winry and ed. "what is xenotime like?"asked anna. "it's just like a regular city u know same old same old."said ed. "oh... well do u think i could go look around when i get there?"said anna. "no,i don't think so."said al. "why not?"asked anna. "cuz ur a dog of the militay now. u have to do what they say. if i have a mission so do u,cuz we are partners if u forgot that already."said ed sounding annoied. "oh yeah i forgot about the whole dog of the military thing."said anna with a sigh. "al i assume ur gonna come with us right?"asked anna. "yes."replied al. "how come u didn't join the miltary al. if u don't mind me asking i mean u are always with ed."asked anna cautiously. "it's not that i didn't want to,i just couldn't."siad al. "why not?"asked anna curiously. "cuz of my body,if u haven't noticed it's not really normal."said al sadly. "but neither is ed's body and he is still in the military."said anna confused. " yes,but i only have an automail leg and arm,but al' has no body just that armor."said ed looking out the window. "so that would make the physical impossible huh?"said anna. "yeah"said al also looking out the window. "come on cheer up u two.i'm sorry that i brought such bad memeories up. come on ed u already found the one who likes u just the way u are and al if u look i'm sure u'll find that person too."said anna. "yeah,but i don't know if she likes me back."said ed. " well i know that if u told her how u felt that she would like u for telling her."said anna with a smile. " what about me,who would like someone who has no body just armor?"asked al. "u'll find her. u could have already met her or u could be one step closer to meeting her. the point is that there is someone who likes u for u just the way u are."said anna. anna looked out the window and got up. "where are u going?"asked ed. "come on u two."said anna trying to pull them up. "why?"asked ed. "just hurry up."said anna walking out the door to the very back of the train. " ok ok we're here now what?"asked ed as al looked at anna. " look, the sun is setting. isn't it beautiful?"asked anna. "yeah u are."said al staring at anna. "huh?"asked anna. " i said, it really is beautiful. when the sunsets i mean."said al trying to hide what he said. " it really is pretty when the sunsets."said ed." the days just pass by so fast."said anna walking back in2 their car. "yeah i know what u mean."said al. ed stayed outside a little while longer and thought. " i wonder where big brother is."said al worridly. " i think he stayed back there. hold on i'll go see."said anna. anna walked back out and saw ed" what's wrong?"asked anna. "nothing."said ed. "well it's getting kinda cold and al is worried."said anna with a slight shiver. "i just have something on my mind u know. here"said ed handing her his jecket. "no thanks, do u want 2 talk about it?"replied anna " it's just how am i supposed to tell winry that i like her?"sked ed sadly. " well u wanna be face to face with her and then u tell her."said anna. " is it really just that easy? i mean nothing that we,me and al i mean has been easy so far."said ed sadly. "yes, i mean there are hard times in ur life but, there will also be fun,loving,happy, and sad times in ur life too."said anna with a smile. "i guess you're right"said ed with a smile. " you two have been gone for a long time so i got worried and came to look for you two."said al. " we're fine we were just talking."said anna. " it's getting late i think we need to get some rest."said ed. " yeah i guess ur right.:said anna. al was kinda confused and said ok. they all walked back into their car. anna yawned as she sat down. " how do u like it so far?"asked al. " what do u mean?"asked anna. " i mean being with us again and knowing that u have to?"said al. " well i like it so far. i mean all i have really been doing is getting to know u guys alittle better."said anna. " well we will have to fight and use alchemy too. it won't always be fun and games."said ed. " i know that life isn't always like that nor is the military."said anna with a laugh half way asleep. "anna can i talk to you" asked al shyly. " umm al anna is asleep."said ed. " oh well i'll just tell her later."said al
