She likes the Sunset
The funeral went by smoothly. Roy's father spoke about his beautiful daughter. His mother was crying and afterwards Roy had embraced her for what seemed like hours. Even though he felt like he was intruding in the sorrow of a family, Edo didn't feel uncomfortable. Roy clearly showed his gratitude that he had come during the funeral, not once had he let go of his hand. He didn't cry though. He seemed to have shed all the tears he had on the day he got the letter.
Edo was grateful for Al's explanation, he had come to a better understanding of it and it helped him concentrating on Roy's feelings instead of his own. Roy's father didn't help. He had asked to speak with him when Roy embraced his mother for so long.
He said Roy must really trust and care for him if he had asked him to join him to his sister's funeral and if he ever needed anything, he just had to call. The whole of the Mustang family seemed to take him in, just because Roy had invited him to this. To say he was confused would be an understatement.
“Edward”
“Hm? What is it Colonel?”
“Hm? What is it Colonel?”
“Thank you”
“No problem... Bastard”
Roy smiled, for the first time since the letter.
The were walking in a park with beautiful Sakura trees. Roy had asked if was okay to walk home and even if Edo had minded he wouldn't have had the heart to deny the depressed man anything.
Then sun was starting to dissappear on the horizon, coloring the sky a beautiful mix of colors, red, gold, blue, purple and even green. It was a calmer evening than Edo had ever expierenced before.
“Ryla loved watching the sun set...” Roy suddenly said, but not breaking the calm.
“I'm sure she's watching now” Edo replied, he knew it was a cheesy line, but he could imagine that Roy wanted to hear those now.
“I know I would stay around and watch Al if I died.”
Suddenly a warm hand grasped his, his heart skipped a beat as he looked up at Roy. Said man looked forward with the same look of serenity on his face as Edo felt in his heart. He smiled and gave a small pinch, which Roy returned as they continiued to walk home.
