Chapter One - Going back 500 years

It was nighttime; it was quite peaceful until a series of gunshots were heard. A young woman was running away from two men. She hid behind a building peeking out to see the men running.

"Come back here you fucking bitch!" One of the men yelled out.

"Sure thing." She answered pulling out two silver guns and shot at the three men. She hit two of the men on their legs immobilizing them and one on the shoulder. She ran to a familiar looking shrine and made sure no one was following her before getting her keys out and opened the door. She sighed.

"It's about time you got home Amii, I was starting to think that something happened to you." A voice said.

"Gee, I didn't know you doubted my skills that much, Kagome."

Kagome sighed, "So you got the job done didn't you?"

"Of course. I always get the job done. I may have barely gotten caught, but they won't remember me. All they'll know was that someone killed that Shin guy."

"I still don't get why you became an assassin in the first place. Sure you're a witch you have your advantages, but I can't see how you can kill people like it was nothing and still go on."

Amii put a hand on her shoulder and smirked.

"Well, it definitely pays more than a cop, then again those bastards deserve what's coming. A bonus is that I get to use my guns."

Kagome smiled weakly, "Well at least the people you have to assassinate deserve it a bit."

"Hey! Aren't you supposed to be sleeping? It's like four in the morning and you have school tomorrow at eight."

"Don't remind me. I have a really big exam tomorrow."

"Oyasumi, Amii."

"Oyasumi, Kag."

Amii entered her room and loud snores could be heard from one of the two beds in the room. She took a book from under her bed and opened to the familiar section where she had wrote down the spell of memory. She closed her eyes and chanted the spell.

Memory is fleeting

Gone is our meeting

My image disappearing

Be gone this memory.

There was a small glow that appeared and was gone before it was seen. She opened her eyes and looked at her side, where a photo in a silver frame was. She was surprised where her life has led her so far. She now had a family with a mother, grandfather, two older brothers, a younger sister and a younger brother. It was somewhat a complete family life. Although… There was an extra person in the photo with her and her family. That person brought happy memories, but he had also brought betrayal. She sighed as she lay down to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be a big day.

Shunu woke up and looked to the other bed to see his sister in her bed; he couldn't help but smile. He had decided to spend the night at the shrine since Houjun was away for a convention in China. It was going to be Kagome's birthday after all and he didn't like being alone for too long. It was just too boring.

He then noticed the photo she had been facing. It was a family photo, but with `him' in it. He couldn't stand to look at that man. That man had left her heartbroken. He had been her fiancée, but he betrayed her and left her, because he didn't love her enough.

'Damn it why can't you forget the fucking bastard! He was the one who's supposed to be in pain. He was the one to have wronged you! You forgave him for wronging you so many fuckin' times and you did him a fuckin' favor by making him forget. It's been three years Amii. Why can't you let it go? I just hope you find a guy worth your time not like that fuckin' bastard.'

Shunu got up from his bed and went towards Amii's to wake her up.

"Hey sleepyhead wake up it's 6:00 we're supposed ta take Kag and Souta to school remember? Plus it's Kag's birthday today, we gotta surprise her with presents and stuff remember."

Amii opened her eyes and saw her brother there and she smiled, "Yeah I remember."

She went downstairs to go to the kitchen and started to make a cake, a really big cake. Her mom was already in the kitchen making breakfast and saw Amii.

"Good morning, Amii."

"Morning, Okaa-san." She said to her adoptive mother.

Kagome woke up to a very sweet smell. 'Is that chocolate cake? And oden?'

Kagome was then wide-awake and getting ready and hurrying up so that she could have time to eat before she left for school. When she got to the kitchen table her family all yelled, "Surprise!"

Kagome smiled, "Arigatou, minna..."

After they had quickly ate their unusual breakfast each family member presented Kagome a gift.

Shunu handed her a small velvety looking bag, when she opened it she was in awe, it was a glass heart it had one big one in the middle and a few other smaller hearts "I made it. A bunch of hearts isn't my style but figuring that yer a girl ya'd probably like it." Shunu said simply. "Arigatou, Shunu!" She said hugging him.

"No prob ya've been like a lil' sister to me all this time so let's just say it's a way of saying thanks for bein' such a great little sister unlike Amii over there." Shunu said looking at Amii.

"HEY! I resent that! I've been a good sister too ya know dragging you out of all those bars and driving your drunk ass home almost every Saturday night!"

"Eh whatever!"

Amii then gave Kagome a small silver box. Kagome opened it to find a silver bracelet with a small little heart and bell dangling. Kagome's face brightened a bit. Amii smiled.

"It's a for good luck. I made it myself."

"Arigatou Ames." Kagome said smiling at her and hugging her.

Her grand father gave her a green looking hand, "Jii-chan.? What the heck is that thing?" Kagome asked a little sickened.

"It's a very ancient artifact it's a hand of a water imp…" Kagome's grandfather was saying until he noticed that Kagome had given it to Buyo, their cat.

"How can you do that?! It's an authentic artifact!" her grandpa whined.

Kagome just rolled her eyes. 'Authentic this authentic that Jii-chan has a story for everything! Oh well I guess he just can't help it, since Amii and Shunu are living proof of history and we practically live in history...'

They were about to leave to school until they saw Souta in the well house.

"Souta! You know you're not supposed to be in there."

"But I'm looking for Buyo and I saw him go in here. Help me find him you guys."

Amii and Kagome decided to help the poor boy and Shunu just scoffed and waited at door of the well, when they heard the scratching noises that made them all jump.

Amii couldn't help but be a little irked. “Buyo is that you?”

Then all of a sudden Buyo popped out of nowhere scaring all four of them causing them to scream a little.

"Stupid fuckin' cat scared the shit outta me."

Kagome sighed. "Okay let's go guys, before we're late."

Then they heard the scratching sound again and everyone started to freak out a little.

"Shit. That sure as hell ain't the damn cat." Shunu said.

They told Souta to stand back and checked the well to see what was making that sound. Then all of a sudden eight arms came out of the well causing Kagome to scream. One of them managed to grab Kagome and was pulling her down the well. Amii grabbed Kagome only to be pulled along with her. Shunu saw this happening and jumped in and grabbed Amii by the leg. They were then floating in the well and saw what had tried to abduct Kagome. It was a pale woman with fangs she had eight arms and where her legs were supposed to be were a lot of bones that looked like a centipede except much more bigger and some flesh.

"I can feel my body being rejuvenating and rebuilding itself again. I want to become more powerful. Now give me the Shikon no tama or else I will kill you." The centipede lady said.

"I have no idea what you're talking about and there you sure as hell ain't gonna kill Kagome cuz you're gonna have to get through me first!"

"And that goes for me too bitch cuz there's no way in fuckin' hell that I'm gonna let you hurt any one of my sisters."

The centipede lady was going to bite Kagome's head off and Amii was about to punch the centipede lady away from Kagome when Kagome had put her right hand up to cover her face. Then a light purple light flashed brightly causing all of them to squint. When they had gotten to the bottom of the well they landed softly surprising them. The three of them opened their eyes to see that the centipede lady was gone.

"Maybe it was a dream or an hallucination from hitting our heads on the ground." Kagome suggested.

"Or maybe not." Amii countered pointing to the arm of the lady who had grabbed her.

Then Kagome started yelling a little, "Souta? Okaa-san? Jii-chan? Are you guys there?" No answer.

Shunu just scoffed at her. "Let me do it. SOUTA!! MA? GRAMPS? ARE YA THERE?!" Shunu screamed causing the girls to flinch and cover their ears a little.

"Do you HAVE to scream like that? Gods I think the dead woke up because of your screaming!" Amii said glaring at her brother.

The three of them climbed on the vines to get out of the well and when they got out they weren't too happy at what they saw.

"WHAT THE FUCK!?!? WHERE THE FUCK ARE WE?!?!" Shunu screamed again causing the girls' ears to hurt.

"Well I don't think we're at home anymore that's for sure." Kagome replied.

"Geez Kagome that was obvious even the king of dense over there knows that."

Where were they then?

They started walking around trying to find someone who could tell them where they were. They stopped dead on their tracks when they saw a young man in a red haori. He had long silver hair and two white puppy dog-ears.

Kagome went up to him bravely and started touching his ears while saying "I wonder if these are real."

Amii looked at Kagome mouth agape and then saw that the young man was a hanyou and that he appeared to be asleep and then she saw the arrow that pinned him to the tree. 'So that's why he's there.'

Then all of a sudden a bunch of arrows were shot by nearly missing the three of them and the hanyou. They then started looking at their attackers and saw practically a whole village of men.

"What are ye doing in the Forest of Inu Yasha?" Asked an old lady dressed in miko garments came close to Kagome.

The trio turned to look at all the villagers and miko. These people didn't look intimidating, but they were far from home and they needed all the help they could get. So they just decided to play along until their questions were answered.

The three of them were tied up and the villagers were staring at them talking amongst themselves.

"They must be demons in disguise as humans." One said.

"No look at their foreign clothing they must be spies from the warring country." Another said.

The old miko then interrupted "That can't be, we are but a poor village. They would never consider to spy on a small village like this one." Then old miko then started to try to vanquish them. Amii just started laughing at the old miko while Kagome and Shunu were a little pissed off at the woman for thinking they were demons.

"We're not demons!" Kagome said.

The old miko then looked at Kagome finally examining her a little looking at her face closely.

"Ye look like my deceased sister Kikyo. Perhaps ye are my sister's reincarnation." The miko said.

She then asked, "Are these ye's companions?"

"Yes they are, they are my older brother and sister." Kagome said.

"Alright," the miko said. "I will untie ye as long as ye promise not to harm this village."

"Why would we do a thing like that?"

After they were freed and fed by the old miko, they found that the old miko's name was Kaede and they then explained what had happened.

"So some centipede demon attacked ye asking for the Shikon no tama?"

Before they could answer the old woman a loud crash was heard coming from the outside. They looked outside Kaede's hut and to see the centipede demon that had attacked them earlier trying to destroy the village. The villagers were trying to fight the demon with their arrows but the arrows seem to have no effect on the demon.

"Give me the Shikon no Tama!"

'It's chasing after me! I have to get it far away from this village and lure it somewhere else before the villagers get hurt!'

Kagome then started running into Inu Yasha's forest to try and lure the demon away from the village for a while till the villagers could destroy the demon. Unknowingly she ran back to the tree of the young man in the red haori. This time however he was wide awake.

A/N - Sorry! I just wanted to post up the first chapter and the next chapter is probably gonna be up in a few days ^_^ that is unless my computer starts acting up or something
