Fushigi Yuugi Fan Fiction ❯ In Seiryuu's Shadow ❯ A meeting to change your lives ( Chapter 1 )
Lately, I did a lot of thinking (yes, I know, it's about time) `What if the illusion Tomo leads the Suzaku warriors in (Or at least part of it) would lead a life of its own?'
So I picked up the lucky pen with which I passed my exams (Different ink though) and I thought of:

Chapter one
A meeting to change your lives
"I wonder what is keeping Tamahome and Miaka," Chiriko said as he looked back at the front gate of Sairou's main city.
The journey hadn't been long, yet due to the heat, everyone seemed exhausted. A lot was on their minds. Ever since the summoning ceremony failed, a lot had happened. One of their best friends and companions had died, even worse… had been killed by the enemy. The treasure their friend sacrificed their life for, had been stolen, so they had to claim the treasure of the neighbouring country. And now Chiriko, Tasuki, Chichiri and Mitsukake finally found themselves in that country, in the main city, or so it seemed.
Mitsukake came standing next to Chiriko "An illness, she could have let me cure it…"
Chichiri looked worriedly at Mitsukake. "Don't blame yourself, they will be here soon," the monk said, with a little doubt in his voice. "Let's find an inn to spend the night."
"Yes," Tasuki put in as he joined his friends. "I could use a drink after all that's happened, the theft of shinzahou… Nuriko's death." He bit his lip to hold back tears.
Chichiri put up a melancholic smile and sighed. "Nuriko… the two of you really were good friends, no da. You've been acting different after her death, almost as if you…'
Tasuki cut him off. "WHAT are you suggesting!?"
"Nothing," Chichiri answered. "Just that you must really have cared for her, no da."
Tasuki drew his Harisen and made it spit flames to Chichiri `I ain't takin'this!'
Chichiri managed to jump away in time. "Hey watch it, no da!"
"Yeah, watch it!" Tasuki heard again
"Hey! I heard ya fine th' first time!" Tasuki said, thinking it was Chichiri
"That wasn't me, no da!" Chichiri said and looked behind him who it COULD have been
"It was me!" a girl with long dark purple hair behind a cart of fruit said. Her eyes, a deep violet, flashed. "This time you just burned my fruit, but who knows what you will burn next time?"
"Nu- Nuriko!" Tasuki managed to say surprised, like everyone else…, for what they saw was their friend, who recently had passed away.
The girl looked at Tasuki really angry. "I don't know WHAT you are talking about, but the fruit you burned had a value of 500 golden ryo!"
Tasuki started to panic. Where was he going to get all that money?
"Oh ow," Chiriko said. "That's a LOT."
"Say, Mitsukake, when you healed Nuriko with the water Taiitsukun gave you, you healed her clothes… so you can do that with the fruit too, ne?"
"Nope," Mitsukake answered. "Besides, we can't use that for every little thing."
"I am still waiting…" The girl said impatiently.
Tasuki got annoyed by that `Yeah!? Well, where in the name of Suzaku am I s'posed to get fi-ve HUN-DRED golden ryo!?'
The girl looked at him shocked. "Suzaku, gosh! How nice to have travellers from the South!"
Tasuki got even more annoyed "'ey! What's with the sudden mood swing!?"
"Well," the girl explained. "I am from the south actually; my parents still live in Eastern-Kounan! I'd love to hear something from that region. I heard you're at war!?"
"Ah, yes," Chichiri said. "That is what we came here for. We are in search of the Shinzahou, do you happen to have information on its location?"
The girl thought for a moment, then spoke. "I might actually have a scroll about it at home. Why don't you all come with me? You can spend the night at my house and think of a way to pay me back the 500 Ryo… By the way, my name is Aime! May I please know your names?"
Chiriko pulled Chichiri's sleeve and whispered, "Chichiri, I have a feeling we have to be careful; let us not give our celestial names."
Chichiri nodded. "I am Ri Houjun."
Mitsukake noticed what was going on. "Myo Juan."
Chiriko shook Aime's hand. "Oh Doukun."
By that time Tasuki noticed it wasn't wise to give his Celestial name "Jus' call me Genrou."
"Good, now that we know each other, let's get to my house. Follow me." Aime walked away, followed by the four seishi

A small pocket mirror, displayed five people walking across the main city of Sairou. Four men, of which was a child, and a lady entered a house. The people sat around the table, talked and ate, laughed and got angry at times.
"Rest well!" the lady told the four men.
The person who looked at the mirror repeated the words after her. "Yes, rest well…. For this will be your last place to rest… minions of Suzaku!"
