MY ANGEL

When I prayed for an angel,
I never expected one with broken wings
And blond hair.
One who could topple Heaven
As if it were a sand castle.
But few are the angles
Who will stoop to speak with Man.
How lucky I was to have my very own.

I tried so hard
To give you everything you wanted:
I would have burnt the world to ashes,
If you had only nodded.
Or pulled stars, screaming, from the sky,
If you had smiled and said it was right.
I would have died a thousand deaths,
If it would have made you happy.
I would have done anything.
