Chapter Two: The Red Light's Embrace

 

 

 

Miaka was surrounded in a red mist, she smiled, knowing Suzaku was visting her dreams to talk to her. Hovering in mid-air was the beast God Suzaku.

 

Red phoenix wings and flame colored hair, smooth skin slick with sweat and eyes, a light shade of fire. She was enveloped in his love and he smiled, holding her close to his body.

 

“Miaka, my Priestess…” Suzaku smiled warmly, burying his face in her auburn tresses. Her hair smelled like lavender with a hint of sweet honey.

 

“Suzaku-seikun....I am pleased to see you but I must wonder as to why you have chosen to grace me with your appearance now. Is Konan in danger?” Miaka murmured, worry clouding her emerald eyes.

 

“Please do not fear Miaka. Konan remains safe.” Suzaku assured her.

 

Miaka let out the breath she didn't even realize she was holding in.

 

“That's a relief.” She exhaled once more, thankful that her friends back in Konan were not in any sort of danger of any kind. “Then I must ask you Suzaku, why are you here? Not that I don't enjoy your visits but why?” Miaka asked curiously.

 

Suzaku looked on at his Priestess with a tender, loving gaze. He was greatly moved that she enjoyed when he visited her. He was so proud of Miaka. Suzaku knew he had made a significantly good decision when he chose her as the Priestess of Suzaku. She loved with all her mind, body, and soul. That's why he enjoyed their coupling so much….ah, he truly loved Miaka. Just like all his warriors did.

 

And Miaka loved them. The bond between a priestess and her warriors was powerfully strong.

 

Nothing could break it.

 

“As it seems, I need to protect both worlds from any future attacks from demons like Tenkou. So then I will need you to come back into the Universe of the Four Gods as the permanent Priestess of Suzaku. This is a proposal of course. It is your choice to make. If you should say yes, then you will have to live in Konan, but you will be able to return to your own world whenever you please,” Suzaku said with eloquence, “Your friend Yui, Priestess of Seiryu, may also accompany you to the other world if she pleases. Besides the love of you warriors, I know that Seiryu no Miko also makes you happy. Miaka I want you to be happy so I am allowing her to return with you.”

 

Miaka pondered his proposition carefully, fully realizing that if she accepted she would be alble to see all her beloved warriors again….and Tasuki. Yui would be able to come with her and stay there if she pleased to. She does still have Suboshi back in the Universe of the Four Gods. Maybe she would realize the young man's love for her. (A/N: I know that Suboshi died in the anime but I'm bringing him back to life because I want to!!)

 

And didn't Suzaku say she would be able to visit her birth-world whenever she pleased. This is a once in a lifetime chance. I should take it.Hopefully Yui will want to come.

 

“I accept.” Miaka stated strongly. “

 

“Are you sure Miaka?” Suzaku asked his priestess.

 

“Yes Suzaku I am. I miss all my friends in the book so much. I want to be able to see them everyday. And now that Taka has betrayed me, I have nothing in this world.”

 

“What about Tasuki?” Suzaku asked knowingly.

 

“You…k-know about my feelings for Tasuki!?” Miaka stuttered, “How!?”

 

“Miaka i can feel your love for him. I am the God of Love. What do you expect?”

 

“Oh.” Miaka remarked.

 

“But getting back to business, I have returned all of your seishi that died to life. You will need the utmost protection and they will see that you are protected.”

 

“Nuriko….Hotohori….Chiriko and Mitsukake; they're alive?”Miaka asked happily.

 

“Yes Priestess.” Suzaky answered, “Now I will send you back. When you are ready simply say my name and you will be transported directly into the Universe of The Four Gods. I will leave it to you to pass all this on to the Priestess of Seiryu. Goodbye for now Priestess of Suzaku.”

 

As Miaka was leaving the red light, she felt Suzaku's lips burn against her forehead. She smiled lightly.

 

Miaka awoke with a start, looking around the room to find herself once again in the apartment and then her eyes fell upon Yui.

 

Yui awakened minutes later to find Miaka turning off the television. She yawned. “Miaka? How did you sleep? I slept well.”

 

“I slept fine too, but there is something I must tell you.”

 

Yui's expression became serious. “What happened Miaka?”

 

“Well….Suzaku visited me in my sleep. He asked me to become the permanent Priestess of Suzaku. I would have to live in Konan but he said I could come back here whenever I so desired.”

 

 

“That's a lot to think about Miaka? Did you give Suzaku an answer yet?” Yui asked, already knowing her reply.

 

“Yes I did. I accepted. But there's more. He said you could come too.” Miaka answered, hoping Yui would say something soon.

 

“Me!! I'm….allowed….to come!” Yui expression took on a look of surprise and vague happiness. “Okay then I'll come with you. Someone has to look after you so you don't get into trouble!!!”

 

Miaka eyes teared up as she ran to her friend and enveloped her in a hug. “Oh Yui!!”

 

“Miaka I'm glad your happy! So when are we going?” Yui asked.

 

“Well we gotta pack some stuff and tell Keisuke of course.”

 

“Oh yea I forgot about that…..I gotta go back to my place and pack.” Yui said as she ran to the door and left.

 

“Hai. I must pack too.” Miaka skipped into her room and started packing a suitcase full of clothes and other necessary objects.

 

“Ok I'm done packing!!” Miaka carried two suitcases out to the living room to wait for Yui to come back, while calling Keisuke on his cell.

 

All she got was his voicemail. Miaka sighed and left him a message telling him to come home right away.

 

Yui returned an hour later with two bags in her arms.

 

“Wow I must have packed a lot! These are heavy!!” Yui exclaimed.

 

“Now all we gotta do is wait for Keisuke to come home to tell him the news.” Miaka said.

 

“Yea I guess so.” Yui smiled, “I'm so excited though!”

 

Miaka giggled. “Me too Yui!”

 

“I'm home Miaka!!” came Keisuke's loud voice in the foyer. “So what did you want?”

 

“Keisuke…..” Miaka trailed off, not knowing how to explain the recent events to her older brother.

 

Keisuke, noticing his sister's lack of words, realized at once that it had something to do with the infamous bookl.

 

“I'm going back into the Universe of the Four Gods. As permanent Priestess of Suzaku. Yui is coming with me. But Suzaku did say I could come back here whenever I want, I just have to live in the other world.” Miaka looked over at her brother with determination in her eyes, as if to challenge him to reject the idea.

 

Keisuke frowned, then he quickly smiled. “Okay Miaka if that's what you want then I'm okay with your decision. But are you sure about this?”

 

“Yes. Yes I am sure. I want nothing more than to see my friends in the book again and now that Taka and I have broken up, there is nothing in this world for me.”

 

Yui, deciding to jump into the conversation, added, “I'm going to keep Mi-chan here out of trouble!!”

 

“Okay. So when are you leaving?”

 

“Now.” Miaka said sternly, “Suzaku.”

 

Miaka and Yui interlocked hands and with a whisk of crimson light, they were on their way.

How was the second chapter? Any better than the first? Probably not. But I'm trying. There will definitely be some Tasuki/Miaka interaction come next chapter. Please review!!! I want at least 5 or 10 reviews for both chapters all together for me to go on to Chapter 3. :D Till next time!!
