Shizuka moved swiftly and watched as her sword clashed with her masters. At coming to a sudden stop they started to just fight in place. Seeing an opening Shizuka hand her teacher disarmed a blade at his throat.
After a few minutes of panting Shizuka's teacher spoke. "You've gotten better but" Ijyuin-sama, the master, trailed off as he seemed to search for something.
"I took that away along time ago." Shizuka took her blade down and moved away to hold up a small dagger.
Ijyuin-sama seemed to stare and blink before chuckling. "Never mind then. Lessons are over for today." The two bowed then clapping came from behind.
Shizuka turned to find Maki standing at the door with a huge grin and closed eyes. The other girl couldn't help but smile back.
Shizuka turned to give the dagger back to her teacher to not only find him gone but the dagger missing as well. (The sword was hers to keep.)
Shaking her head, the silver haired girl when over to her best friend since day care. "When did you get here?"
"Right before you made Ijyuin-sama defenseless." Maki said with the same smiling expression.
"Oh, he was never defenseless." Maki's expression turned to confusion and Shizuka could lonely smirk. "If it hadn't been the end of my lesson, we'd still be fighting or I would be on the ground."
"Oh."
"Never get too cocky in a fight." Maki got an evil glint in her eyes.
"Don't you first need the equipment?" She said with an innocent air. Shizuka blinked for a while then broke down in laughter.
"And people wonder why I hang out with you."
The dark haired girl grinned while asking, "We still going to the library?"
"Of course, I still need to do more research on that report for history. Damn paper is giving me a headache." Shizuka rubbed her temple to emphasize.
Maki giggled. "Well, first you need to change your clothes."
"I am, I am."
"Uh huh."
Maki waited for only a few minutes. (Shizuka did have a shower.)


The two teenagers soon entered City Central Library.
"So you going to work on that research you needed?" Maki asked half heartedly as she looked at the manga section, Shizuka happened to be looking at the same place.
"How about we look at mangas now and then I go find what I need?"
"Sounds like a plan to me." The two hurried off to their shrine, the manga section of the library.
They looked through manga to manga for a few hours. Soon they were broken out of their mesmerized trance when they got one of their shivers. Both girls, from as far back as they could remember, both got this shivers down their spines out of nowhere. Sometimes things happened after the 'shivers', like when a boy nearly got ran over by a car, and sometimes nothing happened.
Well, they got one of those shivers and then heard a creak open. They both turned to find a door that had a sign saying 'Do Not Enter' and a plaque on top with the words 'Restricted Private Library'.
There was a red glow coming from inside the room that seemed to call to both girls.
With no real knowledge of what they were doing the two drop the manga they had been looking at and walked toward and in the door.
As they came through the barrier they seemed to come back to their senses. They looked around in confusion. Then Maki looked at Shizuka questioningly but only got a shrug in response.
Without a word both girls turned to leave before a soft 'thunk' came from behind them. This seemed to set off an alarm in Maki's mind since she nearly screamed before Shizuka's hand could quiet her.
"It was just a book that fell off its shelf."
Maki turned and sure enough there was the book, the cover hand 'The Universe of the Four God' 'Japanese Translation by Einosuke Okuda'. Maki always the curious one, just had to pick it up and leaf through it.
"Hey Shizuka, you have to come see this, it's pretty cool."
The other girl sighed and went and joined her friend.
"Looks like a Japanese translated book about some Chinese Legend." Shizuka stated after taking a quick look.
"So what kind of gods?"
"How should I know, I might be half Chinese don't mean anything."
"Alright, don't need to get touchy. So will you read it?"
Shizuka suppressed another sigh as she took the book.

'Herein contains the tale of a young lady and her quest to gather the seven constellations of Suzaku together.

"What's a Suzaku?" Maki stopped Shizuka to ask.
"Donno, some sort of peacock I guess"

'And if you the esteemed reader, should read to the story's end, the spell contained within this book shall bestow upon you the powers of the heroine, and grant you your wish.'

"What's a Suzaku?" Again Maki wanted to know.
"I told you I don't know." Shizuka trailed off to say. "It's got to be some kind of spell book."

'For indeed the moment the page is turned, the story will become a reality.'

"No really, what's a Suzaku?"
"No really, I DON'T KNOW! Stop asking already."
"SoSo if you read it then your wish comes true? Sign me up."
"Right and I'm the queen of Scotts."
Soon the ground started to rumble and then there was a flash of red glowing light that died down as fast as it came. Where the two teens had been there were to red feathers instead.
