[ P - Pre-Teen ]

For all you Tamahome lovers out there, remember, this is Taka. Taka is very different from Tamahome so he isn't doing any of this to Miaka; it's all Taka.

A/N This chappy was quite hard as well. Miaka needed to be evil and have her same cheerfulness like she always had and making Miaka evil is not an easy task. ^__^ I did my best!

Chapter 10- Battle of Truth

Miaka woke up in the same room she had fallen asleep in. She was no longer the Priestess of Suzaku, she was merely a puppet for Taka's enjoyment. She raised out of bed and went to see Taka.

"Taka, good morning." She said.

"I see your finally away, Miaka." replied Taka.

Miaka nodded with a smile on her face. Her eyes fell upon the meal Taka was having and she was suddenly hungry. Taka smiled and pointed to an empty seat next to him. She giggled and ran to the seat and sat down. Taka went into the kitchen and came back with a plate for Miaka. He sat it in front of her and smiled.

"Miaka, you know about the Suzaku Seven right?" He asked as he sat down.

Miaka made an ugly face at the mention of the Suzaku Seven. They were the ones responsible for killing Nakago and

the Seiryuu warriors.

"Those evil men, I cannot stand the names of them."

Taka smiled inside knowing that the spell of the Kodaku that was given to Miaka the night before had taken

a strong effect. Taka had hoped that the spell would work.

"I need you to do me a favor, Miaka. It is not a pleasant one." He shook his head. "No. Not a good one at all, but are you willing to do as I ask?"

Miaka looked up and nodded slowly with food in her mouth. She was willing to do anything her Taka asked of her.

"The Suzaku Seven have a priestess, and she resembles you. What I am asking of you is to act like their priestess and kill each and everyone of them." Miaka squeaked. "I know its a terrible burden to throw upon you," he took Miaka's hand, "but, I need this. I will transmit my powers as well as Lord Nakago's to you. Nakago's powers will not be as strong as they were with him but you will still have enough power to bring them all down. I will give you my strength and fighting abilities as well."

Miaka sat down thinking of what she should do. She thought of how happy she would be if she murdered them all. Nakago's power and Taka's would be coursing through her, their strength and half of Nakago's powers would be more than enough to bring them down. Miaka looked up at Taka who was staring at her wondering what she was thinking. She looked in his eyes and slightly smiled. She nodded. Taka leaned back in his chair, laughing inside.

~Soon~ he thought ~Soon they will be gone!~

*********************************************

"This will not hurt when I give you our powers. Though I will be weak and not be able to fight." Miaka's eye screamed with worry, "Suboshi will be here to protect me."

"Will I be going alone?" She asked.

"Yes. If anyone goes, they will notice and your cover will be blown." he said, "Now Miaka, close your eyes, I am going to give you my abilities."

Taka closed his eyes and a blue light appeared around him. The blue light streamed from him to Miaka's body. Miaka could feel a warm feeling around her and she could feel her heart racing. Taka was now streaming through her body. She opened her eyes and saw Taka with his eyes closed. He slowly opened his eyes and smiled, taking what Suboshi had handed him. In his hand was a small blue earring.

"Taka! Isn't that..."

"Yea it is, this is Nakago's earring and the key to his powers. When you put it on, you will have received his powers." Miaka moved her hair as Taka leaned in and placed the earring on her left ear, she felt the same warm feeling and she felt more powerful. She didn't know that she just signed her will away to Taka.

************************************************

Taka and Suboshi had walked Miaka to the city limits. Suboshi remained quiet the whole trip. Even when she was on their side and under Taka's control, he still deeply hated her. She was the reason Amiboshi had to loose his memories and become Kaika.

"Remember Miaka, they are your enemies, kill everyone, even the emperor, Hotohori." Taka reminded her.
Miaka nodded as she was engulfed in a blue light.

"Do all you can to act like their priestess, Miaka." She looked up when he called her, "There will be man with red hair, his name is Tasuki, make sure he dies first, he has taken something from me. Now go."

Miaka nodded and closed her eyes, the blue light swirled and in a moment she vanished.

"Do you think it will work?" asked Suboshi when she was gone.

"There's no reason why it wouldn't." Taka replied, "You saw her eyes as well as I did. They were black, there's no way to reverse what I did."

"Tasuki, dear. Please come eat." Nuriko entered Tasuki's room. He was taking it the worst.

"Go away Nuriko, I'm not hungry." He mumbled through pillows.

Nuriko looked at his friend and felt terrible. The empire was very quiet and everyone in the palace was hard to find, especially Hotohori. Tasuki was the only one that hadn't moved.

"Well, if you're hungry later, the food will be in the kitchen. All right?"

Tasuki nodded. Nuriko closed the door silently and walked a few steps, stopped, and fell against the wall sobbing.

***************************************

The blue light appeared on top of a large hill that overlooked the City. Miaka looked and spotted the palace.

"That's where they are." She said in a quiet voice. She started walking to the palace, now that she had the powers and strength of Nakago and Taka there was nothing that could get in her way. She was unstoppable.

*******************************************

Tasuki slowly opened his eyes and rolled on his back. He was hungry but didn't want to get up. Grudgingly, he got up and walked out the door. He started heading towards the kitchen, his main thought was on Miaka. Tasuki looked up and saw the door to Miaka's old room. He walked to it and went inside, he located Miaka's empty backpack and random things all over the bed. He picked up things Miaka called makeup, candy, magazines, and other things. He held the objects and smiled as he remembered what she said to him just before she left.

"Miaka, are you gonna clean up this mess before ya' leave? Hotohori's gonna go crazy if he sees all this."

"Hehe, Tasuki, I'll clean it up when I come back. I'm only going to be gone a few days and Hotohori probably won't even come in here while I'm gone." giggled Miaka.

Tasuki knew that she wasn't going to be able to clean it up so he wanted to clean it for her. He bent down and picked up her backpack, grabbing the stuff off of the bed and placed it inside the bag. When he was done, he picked up a small stuffed animal Miaka left here last time. He was jealous that Hotohori received a bear and he didn't so he claimed this one as his. He hugged the bear and sat it back down. He left the room and headed for the kitchen again. He came around a corner and saw Miaka standing there in front of him.

"M-Miaka?" Stuttered Tasuki.

~Red hair~ she remembered. She thought of what Taka had said about killing him first.

"Tasuki, it's you." She said

Tasuki took a small step forward, afraid that if he moved too quick she might disappear. He took many small steps until he ran up to her and crushed her to him. He was so happy to be holding her. She was so warm, she smelt as she always did, she was real and she was back. Tasuki squeezed her harder, afraid to let her go. He managed to pull himself away from her only to look at her face, not noticing her eyes. He reached up with his hands and cupped her face with his hands. He lowered his head in a kiss that threw him over the edge. They stood there kissing each other when Tasuki realized that she had not moved much and her hands were still down at her sides. Not sure how to react, he pulled himself away and looked at her. He looked in her eyes - they were black. Startled, Tasuki jumped away from Miaka. He grabbed his fan and pointed it directly at her.

"WHO ARE YOU?!" he shouted.

Miaka didn't saw a word, she just watched him.

"ANSWER ME! WHERE IS MIAKA?"

"The Miaka you are looking for is right here." Miaka held out her arms as if she wanted a hug. "Now come here and embrace me like you just did, Tasuki, of the Suzaku Seven!"

***************

Taka took in a deep, sharp breath, which startled Suboshi.

"Taka what is it?" He asked with a confused look on his face.

"That was quick."

"Taka?" he said.

"Miaka, she is already in battle with Tasuki."

**********************

They both stood standing there looking at each other when Miaka smiled and jumped at Tasuki. He jumped just as she approached him. He landed on the other side of her and almost was hit by Miaka as she ran towards him again. Her face had not changed and looked as if she was being controlled. Miaka jumped and almost kicked Tasuki, he grabbed Miaka's leg and sent her on the ground. Miaka grabbed Tasuki's arm and flung herself over him and landed on his other side. She jumped up on his back and held on. Miaka had both of her arms wrapped around his neck and she was choking him. Tasuki panicked and bent down forward sending Miaka clear over his head. He swung his leg and kicked Miaka into the wall. He grabbed his fan and shouted as Miaka jumped the flames.

Miaka landed and she thrust her hands forward as a blue light streamed out of her hands, aimed at Tasuki.

Tasuki shot backwards and came in contact with the wooden pole, breaking it. Miaka spun around and shifted her left hand over her right as a blue light shined out of her fists. Miaka opened her fists and a strong blue light shot out and hit Tasuki.

Hotohori, Mitsukake, Nuriko and the others heard Tasuki's shouts and came running down the hall to see Miaka standing some distance away from Tasuki.

"TASUKI!!! MIAKA" They all shouted.

Miaka's eyes flew to the voices yelling behind her. She spun around watching everyone running to her.

"Hah! You are making this to easy!" She said facing them.

Miaka held out her hands that were pulsing with light. She shouted and the light shot towards them, knocking them all on the ground.

"YOU WILL NOT INTERFERE! I MUST KILL HIM!"

Miaka was facing them and Tasuki saw this as a chance to try and get close to her. He stood up and ran to her, throwing his arms around her, calling her name over and over again. Miaka was aiming another blue blast at them when she was grabbed from behind. Slowly the light in her hand faded. Miaka eyes were wide open and her hair was shot up from the power and the anger she felt.

"Miaka. Miaka. Miaka. Miaka," Tasuki whispered, "Miaka, please. Stop this. I don't know what's happened to you but you're not like this. THIS isn't you."

Miaka felt something wet drop down to her neck and noticed this man with red hair was crying. He was crying her her. No. He was crying for his priestess. Miaka's body started calming down when a light came from the earring Miaka was wearing.

Taka knew this was going to happen and he was prepared to take control of her body when the time came. He was sitting on the ground with his eyes closed, casting a spell all the way from Koutou. He was now in complete control over her body.

Miaka jumped forward breaking the grip Tasuki had on her. She faced him, noticing that he WAS indeed crying. She backed up slowly. Miaka heard some noise coming from behind her and remembered that the men were there. She sent a life force blast at Tasuki, hitting him and sending him crashing in to another supportive pole. Miaka summoned a barrier bubble around her. The roof caved in and Miaka was unharmed; the debris simply bounced off of the barrier she made. She walked over to Tasuki who was unconscious, and raised her pulsating hands. She was about to kill Tasuki when a red beam of light came from behind her and shot through her back. She screamed and fell, the barrier she had around her was broken by Chichiri.

The barrier she had summoned to protect her was easily broken by Chichiri's will to save her. He didn't notice it then, but when he saw Miaka and Tasuki fighting, he got more powerful, as did the others. Miaka fell to the ground next to the unconscious body of Tasuki, squeezing her eyes shut with the pain. The Suzaku Seven got up and raced to her. Chichiri was up by her head and, even though her hair was exposing her ears, he didn't notice the earrings just yet. Miaka opened her eyes and saw them staring down at her.

"I will n-not be beaten by the likes of you." she sputtered out, "You monk," She looked at Chichiri, "I do not know how you broke through my barrier, but I swear to you, Taka will kill you!"

The warriors gasped at the name of Taka.

"Taka? What do you mean?!"

"Taka has b-been there for me my whole life, when you men killed m-my Nakago. It's all your fault. Everything is."

Miaka lifted her head when she was talking to Chichiri and passed out. Her head hit the ground and that's when Chichiri noticed the blue earring. Chiriko had noticed it as well as he was the first one to say something.

"HEY," He shouted, "Look at that, that's the same kind of earring Tamahome had when Nakago gave him the Kodaku."

"You don't think it's possible, do you?" asked Nuriko.

"It is, ya know."

"Even though Nakago is long dead!" squeaked Nuriko.

"There is a possibility that Nakago's spirit could reside in Taka's body. That's the whole meaning of his

symbol, 'Spirit'. Just as Tamahome could reside in his body of choice, Nakago can as well, and who better to take the body of one of the closest men to us. Nakago must have chosen Taka's body rather then one of ours, because Taka is merely human and cannot realize his actions as we can." Said Mitsukake.

"Is there anything we can do for her? It worked once on Tamahome, will it work again?" asked Nuriko.

"We can try, ya know."

Chichiri closed his eyes and put his hands together. He shifted his hand to the left and the earring shattered in to many pieces. Miaka's body twitched and her breathing was heavy.

"Mitsukake, will you please? I'm not sure it will work, ya know, but its worth a try."

Mitsukake smiled slightly and raised his hand over Miaka's body. His healing powers showered Miaka in a warm green light. She slowly opened her eyes and saw her loving friends. She was their priestess again.
