Gakuen Alice Fan Fiction ❯ All things invisible. ❯ Someone Dies. ( Chapter 4 )
[ P - Pre-Teen ]
~Ch. 4 someone dies.~
Fire, it was everywhere, she was sweating. Trapped under the broken beam she couldn't move. Pain
shone in her lonely eyes, adding to their solemn beauty. Unbidden a scream ripped from her throat,
a single name ripped from her throat like a thousand knives. The suddenly HE was there.
Enchanting silver eyes, swirled with blue, hid beneath tousled puppy-brown hair. The rest was a
blur...............
Mandy woke up in a cold sweat, those silver eyes haunting her mind. Shaking her head she
prepared to head to school.......that's when she remembered what day it was. Hissing she laid back
down on the bed. Then she remembered something, a sly and evil grin covering her face, she
dressed in her self-appointed uniform and headed out. Suddenly she disappeared, leaving nothing
but a distorted space that moved silently. Reaching the Northern woods she laughed, despite herself.
Once in the middle she sat down and began sketching......something. That's when Reo showed up.
Leaping from a tree he landed in front of her, he only received a blink. "Knew I was there all along
huh?" he said, chuckling at the expressionless face of his 'sister'. A small smile broke out as some
softness entered her hardened features, but the venom did not leave her eyes. "Good to see you
brother, I have the blueprints you wanted." and with that, he left, a collection of roughly drawn
papers under his arm.
Emerging from the forest, Mandy thought no one saw her, but she was wrong. Natsume's crimson
orbs glared from a bush, oh he would love to just burn her there, but he resisted. Then he saw
Tsubasa walking up, waving at Mandy he continued on his way to ï¬nd Mikan, this made Natsume
hiss in frustration. Sure, he loved Mikan, but he wasn't going to tell her that, not yet anyway.
Skulking off he failed to notice the gentle look in Mandy's eyes.
+Mandy's POV+
Sure I may seem impassive, but that's my training, in order to protect myself, Reo told myself that I
must push everyone away. It was that stupid shadow boy that ruined it. He was so nice to me, who
could blame me? Yeah I got a crush, his name is Tsubasa Andou, and I just gave him the most evil
glare in history, that is until his back was turned. Oh sure I heard Natsume skulking around in the
bushes, but I knew he wouldn't sell me out, not yet. After all, he wanted to catch me in the act and
reveal it to the whole school. HAH! Like that would work.
That's when I noticed, *growl*, her. Name of Misaki, best friend to Tsubasa, and my rival. I had to
admit though, that she deserved him more then me. Mainly because I don't deserve anyone. That's
when, *shiver*, his freaky eyes came back to mind. I swore and tried to forget the nightmare, but
somehow I knew I would meet the owner of those evil silver-blue eyes soon. That knowledge shook
me up so much that a tear slid down my face. Damn it! That was NOT in my character! But the
tears wouldn't stop, ignoring my mind's logic, my heart forced it's pain out again. It was just my
crappy luck that found two witnesses to my moment of visual emotion..........
+End POV+
A girl with soft green eyes looked to a girl with lively sea-grey eyes. In silent agreement they
walked up to the sobbing girl. They were wearing highschool uniforms. The one with green eyes
had gorgeous orange hair, gentle smiling lips, and dainty glass slippers, her name was Alexandra
Mokani. Mandy recognized her as the famous model daughter of the most prestigious business
owners around. She was rich, VERY rich. Her companion had hot pink hair that overpowered her
Debonair smile. A hot-pink rubrics cube cellphone key-chain hung from her pocket, her nails were a
berry-pink color, along with a rhinestone bracelet, and designer leather zip-up high-heel boots. Both
put their hands on Mandy, or at least TRIED to. For as soon as their hands met skin, they fell to the
ground. Wiping her tears away Mandy went to walk away.
That's when the pink-haired girl, named Clara Ann Faust, spoke. "Oi, don't run away! We just
wanted to help! You know, you can't go through you're life by yourself red dragon!" she shouted.
Mandy froze when she realized what they had just called her. Narrowing her eyes she looked back
at the two, then sighed. "ï¬ne" she hissed. Sitting down she stared at the two, she hated to admit it,
but it felt good to be able to talk to someone about how hurt she was. Smiling the two managed to
gentle the ï¬erce girls attitude, even make (though Mandy would denigh it) friends with her. A small
smile, reserved usually only for Reo, graced her ruby lips. A slight amused chuckle even emerged,
feeling the successful, the two girls, Clara ann, and Alexandra left a very pleasently surprised girl
with glittering gold eyes.
+The next day+
Mandy's attitude had somehow softened, and this did not go unnoticed by the rest of her class
mates. That's when she was whisked away to lunch by Clara Ann and Alexandra. They ensued a
bright conversation, introducing her to some of their friends. A girl with green hair, violet eyes, and
turtle earings introduced herself as Lily Shilling, the daughter of some wealthy bankers. Another
girl had stuningly black hair, like Mandy's, streaked with blue, and some of the prettiest dark-blue
eyes Mandy had ever seen. She introduced herself as Felicity Andreis, the daughter of the most well
know hair-product company owners. Then came a pair of twins. The ï¬rst had long red hair and
shocking green eyes. She was very mature, acting more like a woman then a beffudeled teenager.
She introduced herself as Rosette Faunchild. Then a girl with blond hair and crystal-blue eyes
stepped forward, she had rosy cheeks and gentle features. She introduced herself as Rosalynn
Faunchild. The twin daughters of famous body care owners.
There was another girl, but she wasn't there that day, so Mandy ignored the information they gave
on her, not realizing that this girl was the one she needed to be wary of. Lunch passed uneventfully,
nothing blowing up or anything. Sighing she walked to the DA class. She hated that class, it was too
easy for her since she was already a full-trained killer. That's when her deay went in the long
downhill slide to hell. Persona showed up, his white ivory mask glinting in the dark candle-lit
training room. Calling her and Natsume over he said that they would be going on a mission instead
of attending class. Natsume looked gravely annoyed while Mandy smirked in anticipation. A
mission? That was her favorite territory!! Anything but the stupid training.
Grabbing Natsume she transported them to the location of their mission. Silent understanding
passed between the two as they weaved in and out of box piles in the abandoned mall. A sobbing
could be heard, the sobbing of a girl. Coming around the corner, Natsume almost tripped, revealing
their location, but he didn't. Bound and tied, cruelly gagged, was a girl with grey hair. She was the
fortune telling alice from their class. She didn't look like she'd foreseen this disaster. Seing a small
red dot travel across the floor, Natsume knew it was Mandy, telling him where to move. He was
impressed she had it so that he would avoid all the traps that had been set, while she would watch
his back. Carefully moving in the pattern she had played out with her mini-laser he walked towards
the fortune-teller.
It was too late by the time he heard the hissed warning's coming from Mandy, a shot rang out.
Instinctively Natsume ducked, which was a bad decision, Natsume gaped as he stared at the blood
pouring from the wound in the now lifeless body of the fortune teller. Anger welled up inside
Natsume as he whipped around, every intention of burning the shooter to death, when he saw it.
The gun was in Mandy's hand. SHE had shot their classmate! Natsume seethed in anger, but those
gold eyes just looked back at him. "oops." she said coldly. "Guess we failed the mission, now we
can go home. Besides, she knew to much. Persona told me to shoot her, she was becoming
dangerous to the academy." Mandy shrugged, turning around and nonchalantly shrugging as if
killing people was the most ordinary thing in this crazy world. Natsume sent daggers at her back,
but didn't do a thing. He couldn't go against the academy, as much as he wanted to......
+Mandy's POV+
I had to shoot someone on my mission, oh don't get me wrong, I'm used to killing people, but this is
different. I lied, for the ï¬rst time in my life, I had lied. It was true that she had known too much, but
it hadn't been the school that ordered her death, it had been Reo. I knew Natsume wouldn't blab
about my shooting her though, he wouldn't admit he'd participated in a murder mission. He would
just say something like 'we got their too late....' or 'we recieved false info....' something like that.
Still, I felt guilty. I'd talk to her and apologize after we got back. I knew that wasn't a good idea
since I always give myself hell when I use my real alice, but it was important. I sighed, thank
goodness Natsume didn't notice the tears threatening to spill out. "why is it that no matter where I
am someone always dies?" she sighed, yes this time it was her fault, but normally that wasn't the
case. Slipping silently into the norther woods at the academy, Mandy looked bac to make sure that
Natsume was really reporting back to Persona. Sighing she looked to a tree, then she pulled off her
dragon hairtye............
Fire, it was everywhere, she was sweating. Trapped under the broken beam she couldn't move. Pain
