Chapter 3 - Truth or Dare?
Scarlet coloured eyes scanned through the crowd for a certain pain in the ass priest. Sanzo was going to get a piece of the kappa's mind once and for all, that shitty priest could have at least told one of them where he was going. It was unlike Sanzo to bugger off on his own for this long, mood or no mood. It wasn't long until he caught a glimpse of pure golden blonde hair with his eyes, he scanned the figure briefly confirming that it was Sanzo before he made his way forward towards him through the crowded street.
“Oi Sanzo!” Gojyo called out above the many loud voices to get the attention of the priest. Violet eyes looked up to where the voice came from, and then narrowed in a dangerous scowl after realising who it was that called for him. With a heavy sigh he looked away from the annoying half kappa and stopped in his tracks allowing Gojyo to approach him. Even though he felt like telling Gojyo to go to hell, he couldn't do anything to him, not yet anyway. Once the water sprite had reached him he looked back at him, eyes still slightly narrowed.
“What in the fu-…” Sanzo began catching himself before finishing that sentence, which had Gojyo smirking ever so slightly.
“What do you want, Gojyo.” The blonde finished with another sigh. Gojyo's smirk grew a little, surprised that Sanzo had managed to catch himself before finishing the word that would have cost him his beautiful blonde hair.
“Oh nothing much…except that you had me freaking worried you good for nothing priest!” Gojyo replied, in a rather cold tone indicating that he was being serious and wasn't going to take any snide remarks from Sanzo. Not like Sanzo would be able to actually do anything of the sort.
Sanzo muttered something and began walking away from Gojyo, he could honestly care less that he had made the idiot worry. He ignored the next words that came from Gojyo's mouth, it was beginning to give him the start of a lovely headache.
“For the love of god, Sanzo!” Gojyo half shouted at the blonde as he locked a hand onto his shoulder, stopping the priest from walking away from him any further.
“What?” Sanzo replied flatly, trying to act like he was suddenly interested in hearing what Gojyo had to say to him.
“The heck is up with you? Are you mad or something because of this whole bet thing?” Gojyo asked, his voice getting a bit lower and sounding slightly dangerous.
“I'm fine, why would I be mad over something so stupid?” Sanzo replied, jerking so that Gojyo's hand released his shoulder.
“From the way you're acting.” Gojyo replied a sigh slipping through as he did so. The blonde priest shrugged and continued to walk on leaving Gojyo to seethe quietly.
Sanzo took a turn that led him onto a long and dark alley behind the buildings, just perfect. He'd be able to lose Gojyo now and get some extra time to himself before going back to the place they were staying at. Damn how he wanted a smoke at the same time to relieve himself of some stress that was continuing to build up inside him, and he'd quite happily take one if it wasn't for the fact that, Hakkai had his cigarettes, and the others would be able to smell the smoke on his breath if he took one anyway. Getting halfway down the alley he came to a stop and sat on a bench hidden away by a large skip.
“Oi, Sanzo!” Gojyo called angrily after the monk, he'd just managed to spot the bright golden blonde hair disappear round a corner that led down an alleyway. His fists clenched a little, sometimes that monk could REALLY hit a nerve or two. Gojyo followed the monk only to lose sight of him.
`Fuck sake just how far can that monk walk in such little time?' He sighed inwardly, continuing the path.
“Sanzo?” Gojyo called out, just loud enough for him to be heard if Sanzo was indeed still about the alleyway. No answer came back to him, although it didn't mean Sanzo hadn't heard him. Sanzo's head looked up when he heard his name being called only for a second or two before looking back down at the ground. Why couldn't that stupid, good for fuck all kappa just drop dead or simply leave him alone? It wouldn't be long until he'd be found so he may as well enjoy the few minutes of peace he had left.
“There you are. God you know you can be so annoying when you go into one of your stupid moods.” The taller youth stated as he sat next to the priest on the bench. Sanzo grunted in reply, indicating that he didn't actually care if he was annoying or not. Gojyo was getting irritated by Sanzo's attitude by the second.
“Come on Sanzo, you don't have to act so stingy all the freaking time. You really needa' learn to lighten up.”
“Hmph!”
Sanzo's head tilted upwards slightly after a raindrop hit him on the face, his brows knitting together into a frown. Just fucking great! Gojyo's head also lifted, crimson hues shifted to the priest sensing his irritation.
Gojyo stood once the rain began to get heavier; Sanzo looked to him not budging from his spot.
“Come on monk, I know how much you hate the rain so we may as well get outta' it ne?”
“Tch…guess so.”
“Good…” Gojyo replied watching him stand. He suddenly felt sorry for the priest having to walk in this horrible weather without anything to stop the rain hitting him.
“Sanzo,” the kappa spoke stopping to take off his leather jacket throwing it gently over the priests head, shivering slightly as the cold rain began to soak through his white shirt. “Here, keep that over your head ne? It'll keep some rain out.”
Sanzo raised a brow at the kappa despite the mood he was in, feeling somewhat grateful towards him…which was just so not him, no way in hell was it like him to think about the kappa …never mind anyone else…like that. Amethyst eyes kept locked onto his figure as they spotted the kappa's figure shivering a bit now. A small unnoticeable blush crept onto his face as he looked away, scoffing silently under his own breath. Why would Gojyo do something like that? For him?
“Idiot…” muttered the priest, hugging the still warm jacket tighter around him involuntarily.
“Huh?” Gojyo questioned turning his head to Sanzo.
“You…Why did you…uh never mind.”
“Sanzo? What're you on about?”
“Nothing.”
“Okay.”
The two walked back to the inn at a faster pace, the rain had fallen heavier by the second. Gojyo shivered from the icy wind that had kicked up but refused to take back the jacket from Sanzo.
