The four had camped for the night alongside the road. Gojyo had taken the first watch, his red hair illuminated by the fire that he sat in front of. He listlessly poked a stick into the burning embers, keeping the fire well within its assigned area. He gazed up at the moon and realized that it was full. It had been a full moon when he had first seen her. He thanked Hakkai for taking the knife away from her but it was his hair that had almost driven her to death.

Though consoling and comfort, he was able to show her that red need not mean to be a curse. She had also shown him comfort within himself that he had not known existed. He had never felt that way with a woman before and he had been with lots of women. He took a cigarette out of his half-full package and placed it in his mouth. He patted his hand around on the ground in search of the lighter and glanced up when he felt warmth directly in front of his face. Sanzo held the lighter to his cigarette and Gojyo lowered his head in thanks.

"She means that much to you, doesn't she?" he asked as he lit his own cigarette.

"Like I've said, she's different than the others. I don't really miss all the others before and after her but I miss her."

"You've let the thought consume you though. You've been thinking about her constantly."

"I'm just worried about her, that's all. I mean, she's a great chick. She shouldn't be in trouble. I want to see her again. I'd like her to be alive for that, do you understand?"

"No I don't. I've never cared for anyone like that in such a way before."

"Really? Hmm. I don't know much about you but I get the feeling that you do know what I mean. You've got emotions that you don't show...okay I've crossed the line, haven't I?"

"Just shut up and I won't fire this."

Sanzo lowered his gun and Gojyo turned his attention back to the fire. He sighed as he watched Sanzo walk away from him. He didn't know why he had tried to pry so much into High Priest Sanzo's past. He didn't really care what happened in his past. What concerned him more was the present. He tossed the stick that he had been using as a poker into the fire and took his cigarette out of his mouth and opened a can of beer. He raised the can to his lips and glanced up the mountain at the castle that lay far ahead.

She must be extremely lonely, he thought as he drank the contents of the can. She'd better not cry when we get there. I can't stand seeing chicks cry. Especially not her. I wish I knew what it was about her. I've never felt this way before. Never.

A light shone from a castle tower and Gojyo wondered if that was where she was being held. He sipped the contents of the can again and leaned back onto the tree he sat in front of. He closed his eyes and fantasized about how their reunion would be. She would probably run up to him and fondly embraced him. She'd say how glad she was to see him and kiss him and then he would start in on her. He'd remove her garments, speaking softly and lovingly to her and he'd kiss her body as he worked his way down. He would carry her completely nude into a bedroom where he would make love to her. It would be so hot...he opened his eyes and stared at his foot, which was resting in the fire pit and quickly took it out. He quickly put out the fire that had just begun to burn the material of his shoe and stood up. He hoped that she was at least keeping safe.

"You miss her, don't you?" Hakkai asked and Gojyo looked at him.

"You guys are supposed to be asleep. Why's everyone awake?" he asked and Hakkai smiled.

"Goku's fast asleep."

"That ape always is."

"Sanzo has fallen asleep as well. I thought you might like some company. You seemed to have been dreaming, otherwise you wouldn't have stuck your foot into the fire."

"I was just thinking about what I would do when I saw her again."

"I thought so. I feel glad that you have found someone special. It hurts me to know that my lover chose death instead of bearing a youkai child. But let's not talk about my past. Let us talk about your future. How far are you willing to go with Miss Rianna?"

"What do you mean?"

"How much are you willing to commit to her?"

"Truthfully, I'd like to give her everything if I could."
