CHAPTER THREE: AT WHAT PRICE

Running through the halls of Houtou castle, Yaone spotted the worried Dokugakuji ahead of her. He turned to face her as he heard her footsteps echoing through the hallway. “I can’t find Lirin anywhere,” she told her friend. Dokugakuji regarded her. “One of the scouts just returned to the castle,” he informed her, “The demon said he saw her on a flying dragon headed east.” The swordsman shook his head. “It’s my fault for arguing with her and upsetting her. Now she’s out there by herself doing who knows what.” He cast dejected eyes downward, upset over the fact that he was failing to protect Lirin as he had failed to protect Kougaiji. Yaone placed a hand on his shoulder. “We’ll find her before anything happens to her,” the demoness told her friend. “Let’s go.” She bounded down the hallway toward the pen of flying dragons, with Dokugakuji close behind.

Wind tossing her hair, Lirin looked down from where she was perched on her dragon, trying to catch site of the trio of gods who had taken her brother. She was determined to prove to him that she was as capable as the others in his group. Frustrated by having flown for hours without even a hint of where the gods had gone, Lirin drifted over a small town of humans. Flying over the town square, she caught site of a battle. Looking more closely, she could see that the Sanzo party had engaged a powerful enemy. The princess saw the form of a young man with black hair and a flowing violet cape trimmed with red flames. He had thrown Goyjo backwards, and was now faced with an angry Goku. Sanzo and Hakkai were fighting the other two gods, with Goyjo gaining his footing and joining them. ‘That must be them,’ Lirin thought as she gazed angrily at the trio of gods. Leaping down from her dragon as it flew close to the ground, Lirin landed within the midst of the fight.

Sanzo glanced at her as he fired his gun at the god wielding twin whips. “Great,” he muttered, annoyed. “More trouble.” Lirin caught the monk’s gaze. “I don’t have time to play with you right now, Sanzo,” the princess told him. Looking between the three gods, she demanded, “Which one of you is Homura?” The war god looked past Goku at the girl. “Who wants to know?” he asked her, one hand on his hip. “Hey, don’t ignore me!” Goku exclaimed, rushing forward. Homura struck him, causing the heretic to fly toward a wall to the side of him. “I’m Lirin,” the princess informed the god as he stalked closer. “I demand to know what you’ve done with my brother!”

Homura chuckled, causing the girl to make a more angry face. “So you’re Kougaiji’s sister,” he said, smirking. “I didn’t know he had any siblings.” “You’d better tell me, or you’ll regret it,” the princess remarked, gathering energy into her hands. She flung the ball of light at Homura. He dodged, and the fountain behind him took the blow, rock shattering to pieces with a loud noise. Homura turned to look at the damage. “Impressive, little demon. I apologize for dismissing you so quickly. It seems that you are much more interesting than I first thought.” The deity stalked toward the girl as the other two gods moved to flank her. Homura held up a hand, addressing them. “Her fight is with me. The two of you needn’t interfere.” “As you wish, Homura,” Shien answered as he stepped away.

Sanzo approached Lirin as she moved toward the god in front of her. The priest placed a hand on the princess’ shoulder, halting her for the moment. “It’s not a good idea for you to fight this guy,” he told her in concern. “He’s much too powerful for you to handle alone.” Lirin turned to grin at the man. “Don’t worry, baldy. I’m a lot stronger than I look.” She bounded away from the monk toward the waiting god.

“Homura,” she demanded, “Where are you keeping my brother?” Homura approached the demon girl. “He’s not here,” the deity informed her. “I’m keeping him at a location far from this place. I’ll tell you this: if you can defeat me, I’ll give your brother back to you.” The princess took up a battle stance. “So what are you waiting for?” Lirin asked the god, “Let’s get started!”

Homura gave a half-smile as the girl rushed toward him. Lirin launched a spinning kick at the deity, which he blocked. The being then grasped her foot, flinging her backwards through the air. In mid air, the princess righted herself, landing a distance away. Homura gazed at her, amused. “Not bad, little princess. But it will take much more than that to defeat me.” Strutting forward, the deity drew his sword, making a broad slashing movement, sending a column of flames in the girl’s direction. Lirin dove out of the way, with a building behind her bursting into flames as frightened tenants ran. Through the smoke, the demon girl could see the form of the god walking forward, unaffected by the falling ignited debris. He suddenly moved forward as she tried to gain her footing, catching her by the throat. Homura lifted the demon princess into the air as she struggled. Goku and the others made as if to move forward, but the other two gods suddenly blocked their way. “Homura said there should be no interference from outside parties,” Shien informed them, whips poised as if to strike. Zenon cocked his banishing rifle noisily. “It looks like you guys will have to wait it out.” Sanzo cast a withering gaze in their direction before looking past the gun-toting god to the battle behind him.

Lirin held onto the hand that the deity had around her throat, as she tried to kick him with no avail. She seethed in anger as Homura laughed at her. “So this is all you’ve got, little demon,” the god told her snidely, “I should have expected as much, seeing who you’re related to. Kougaiji fell to me so easily. For all his sharp words, he had very little bite. He’s lucky to have caught my eye, or else he would have ended up like so many of his followers.” Lirin looked down at him angrily. “W-what do you mean?” she managed to get out with limited air. Homura regarded her in dark amusement as he watched her struggle. “How naïve, little girl.” The god narrowed his eyes at the young demoness. “Why else do you think I’d be keeping such a beauty around. Your brother acquiesces so nicely to my…authority.” Homura’s grin widened as he watched realization dawn in her eyes. Wide eyes brimming with tears, Lirin bit out, “You…you bastard!” as she managed to land a kick to the deity’s chest. As she was dropped, the princess rolled out of the way. Gaining her footing, she launched several balls of energy in his direction all at once. Homura dodged them as they exploded around him.

Through the scattering dust, Lirin emerged close to him, raining a flurry of punches and kicks. While Homura was able to dodge or block most of them, a few of them connected, with the deity being thrown backward, landing on the dusty ground. Surprised, he gained his footing as she rushed forward, catching her with a knee to her stomach. Hunched over, the princess crumpled to the ground, the wind knocked out of her, holding herself from pain. Homura crouched beside the fallen princess to whisper in her ear. “You put up a nice effort, but in the end, you still failed. In a battle between a demon and a god, there can be only one outcome.” He rose and turned toward his comrades. “All the enjoyment to be found here has been exhausted. It’s time we headed home for…other amusements,” Homura told them as he caught the princess’ worried gaze. As she struggled to her knees, she watched the trio of gods disappear into a blue light. Goku appeared beside her, attempting to help her to her feet, but Lirin pushed him away. The unshed tears now falling from her eyes, the princess gritted her teeth, balling up her fist at her powerlessness before the war god. Growling, she punched the ground beneath her, the shattering of earth heard for miles.

The sound of rattling filled the room as Kougaiji took hold of the chain around his neck. Bracing himself against the wall, he pulled with all the strength he could muster. However, the chain refused to break, or be pulled from where it connected to the wall. The sound of the door creaking open caused him to cease his efforts. The prince knew who it was before he heard the smug voice call out, “Did you miss me, demon?”

Without turning around, the prince replied, “Why would you possibly think that?” The deity was not put off by Kougaiji’s comment. “After the lovely time we had together yesterday,” Homura responded, “I would have thought that you’d given up on this resistance. I should have expected as much from royalty.” Homura stalked closer to the prince, who turned to face the being at the sound of approaching footsteps. “While I do enjoy your spirit, it wouldn’t hurt you to be a bit nicer to me.” Homura reached out to touch Kougaiji’s face, but the demon jerked away from him.

Homura just smirked. “You of all people should be grateful for my kindness.” Kougaji regarded him angrily. “What should I be thanking you for?” he asked the deity as Homura extended a hand, causing a sphere of blue light to appear above it. Kougaiji noticed that a scene was being played out within it. Looking more closely, his eyes widened in horror as he realized who was in the image. “Lirin?” he said in a questioning voice. The prince soon became even more angry as the fight scene continued to play. “You bastard!” Kougaiji shouted as he lunged for the deity. Homura stepped backward quickly beyond the chain’s length, watching in humor as the prince struggled against the leash to get to him, teeth bared.

“I didn’t hurt the girl…much,” the being started to say, “I had no idea that you had a sibling, since your mother was bound shortly after Gyumaoh was.” Homura gazed into the sphere of light at the scene of the fight he’d had with the girl. “She has so much spirit, fighting a being who subdued her older brother. I had no idea that demons could make such strong family bonds. The little thing will likely blossom into a beautiful flower.” Homura caught Kougaiji’s gaze as the sphere of light began to fade. “If you want her to live to see another sunrise,” he told the prince, gaze and voice devoid of humor, “you’d better be a lot nicer to me.” He moved toward the demon prince quickly, catching him by the back of his head with one hand before he could pull away. Homura leaned in to purr into the monarch’s ear, “Or does she deserve some of my special attention as well.” At that, Kougaiji turned to him. “If you touch her…” he started angrily. Homura smiled at him, interrupting, “What will you do? What can you do? You can’t even protect yourself, let alone her. The only reason you live now is because you please me.” Homura pulled Kougaiji closer to him, a hand on his rear, caressing a firm cheek. “If you continue to please me, I’ll leave the girl alone. The more interesting you are, the less likely she is to catch my eye.”

Kougaiji’s face fell during the deity’s speech to him. He couldn’t let a similar fate befall Lirin. He’d rather die than let that happen. For her sake, and the others he cared for, he’d have to endure the deity’s whims. Homura noticed the change that had come over Kougaiji’s face. Smiling, he said, “That’s more like it.” He walked past the prince to the chair placed next to the mattress on the floor. Sitting down, pointing to the area in front of him, he ordered, “Come here, and worship your god.” When Kougaiji turned and started to walk toward him, Homura shook his head. “No, demon. Pets walk on all fours to greet their masters.” He smirked as the prince moved to comply, trying to hide his anger over the humiliating act he was performing. When Kougaiji reached the area between the deity’s parted thighs, Homura grasped him by the back of the hair, pulling him up into a kneeling position. “Good boy,” he said, leaning down to capture the prince’s mouth in a deep kiss. Kougaiji allowed it, but didn’t kiss back. Homura licked the side of the demon’s face. “I knew you could be nicer with the right motivation.” He sat back in the chair. “Now go ahead.” Kougaiji looked at him questioningly, causing the deity to chuckle. Homura began to unfasten his pants as Kougaiji’s eyes widened. “How else did you think I wanted you to show your gratitude?” the deity asked the demon. “Haven’t you performed this act before? Or maybe your pride as a prince didn’t allow you to service your lover in the same manner that he serviced you?”

Kougaiji looked sullenly at the deity, but didn’t answer. It wasn’t a matter of servitude. It was about sharing pleasure. Dokugakuji had been in a similar position before him on many occasions. It was natural for him to want to show his affection for his friend and lover in a similar fashion. Kougaiji hadn’t cared about their social positions. The prince remembered the first time he had performed the act on Dokugakuji. How his friend had protested, despite his growing erection at the idea of the monarch going down on him. It actually had been strangely thrilling to take his friend’s ample erection into his mouth. To look up into half-lidded eyes, glazed over with desire. Hearing the soft moans his lover made, as he took as much of him into his mouth as he could fit inside. The way Dokugakuji called out his name as he writhed before him.

Kougaiji’s reverie was interrupted by a familiar annoyed voice. “Are you going to sit there and stare at it, or are you going to get started at some point?” He looked up into Homura’s peeved face. The deity’s gaze became pleasant as he caught the demon’s attention once more. “There’s no reason to be afraid of it,” he said, reaching into his pants and pulling himself out fully, “It doesn’t bite.” Homura grasped Kougaiji’s hair with his free hand, pulling him forward. The prince resisted somewhat, his arms braced against the deity’s thighs. Homura rubbed himself against the monarch’s cheek as he tried to turn away. “Come now,” he said in a coaxing voice as he caressed the prince’s closed lips with his member. “You’d better open up before I get angry.”

Reluctantly, Kougaiji began to part his lips slowly. As soon as the aperture was wide enough, Homura pushed inside. Kougaiji made a disagreeing sound at the sudden invasion of his mouth. After a few moments, he began to suckle on the deity. Homura relaxed in the chair in which he sat, one hand still in the prince’s hair, guiding his movements. “Yes, that’s right,” the being cooed, “Suck me, demon.” Kougaiji tried not to think about what he was doing, telling himself that he could get through this. Images of the disappointed face of his lover came to him unbidden. He closed his eyes and tried to block out the accusing visions as he worked.

Chest heaving, Homura could feel orgasm approaching. He began to thrust up into Kougaiji’s soft throat, a bit more firmly than comfortable for the prince. The deity’s breath came in harsh gasps as he neared his climax. “Suck h-harder,” he ordered the prince, who complied. “That’s it,” Homura replied breathily, enjoying the prince’s talented mouth. His face twisted with pleasure, he told him, “Make sure you swallow every last drop.” As Kougaiji felt the deity’s hand tighten in his hair, his throat was met with a hot, viscous fluid. Coughing due to the sudden injection he hadn’t been ready for, Kougaiji pulled away as the deity’s essence slid down his throat, burning as it went. His lips tingled where some of it had spilt. Kougaiji breathed deeply as his coughing spell ceased, shivering as he felt the heat of Homura’s essence hit his stomach and spread out. The monarch wiped his mouth on the back of his hand as he frowned.

Homura regarded him with amusement. “Tsk, tsk, what a messy eater,” he told the prince, gesturing to the spilt essence on his belly and member. “You’d better get back here and clean this up.” When he saw Kougaiji look around him as if searching for something to wipe with, the deity said, “No, demon. That tongue of yours is good enough.” Kougaiji crawled back to where Homura sat. Frowning, he began to lick the deity’s belly. Homura gazed down at him, smirking. “Make sure you clean my cock especially well.” Face burning with shame, Kougaiji lapped at Homura’s still-erect member until all the traces of semen were gone. His mouth and throat continued to tingle as he swallowed reluctantly.

“Such a good boy you are,” Homura told the prince as he leaned down to kiss the demon deeply. His member throbbed as he tasted himself on the prince’s tongue. “You did such a good job, I’ll have to give you a treat.” Homura gestured for Kougaiji to rise. “Take off your pants,” he ordered the shirtless demon. After he had complied, Homura told the prince to seat himself on the mattress. The deity removed his own clothing, and joined his pet on the bed. Homura shoved the prince backward, looming over his body. The deity took up nibbling on the prince’s neck. Moving downward, he left a wet trail in his tongue’s wake. Kougaiji could feel the deity lave his stomach before descending further.

The demon prince could feel the deity nibbling on his length. He refused to look down as Homura took him into his mouth. The being moaned around his cock as he slid down to the hilt. Kougaiji’s eyes were shut tightly as he panted, trying not to respond to the deity’s ministrations. Homura let the now erect length slide from his mouth wetly. “I know that you’re enjoying yourself, demon,” he told Kougaiji while stroking his member firmly. “You’re quite hard now.” Releasing Kougaiji’s length, Homura gripped the monarch’s thighs, pushing them against his chest. The deity planted kisses on each thigh, before moving inward to nibble on the prince’s hanging orbs. Kougaiji’s breath hitched as he felt the deity’s lips move lower. He released a strangled groan as Homura laved his entrance with his tongue. The monarch squirmed before the deity, cock weeping from unwanted pleasure as the being probed him.

As he felt Homura rise from him, Kougaiji regarded the deity. The being was stroking lubrication on his member. When Homura realized the monarch was watching, he smirked. “You want it, don’t you,” he said, still lathering himself. “Beg for it.” Kougaiji cast a sullen glance upward before finding his voice, “I-I want you.” Homura chuckled. “I’m sure you can beg better than that. Tell me how much you want my cock.” Kougaiji said the words as if they themselves were distasteful, “Please…give me your cock. I-I need it.” Homura loomed over the prince. “Well, that’s a start. By the time I finish with you,” he said, pushing the prince’s legs up and outward, “you’ll know how to beg properly.”

With one firm thrust, the deity buried himself within the monarch. Kougaiji made a sound of discomfort at the sudden invasion. Homura set up a swift and deep rhythm of penetration, seeming to jar the prince’s bones. Kougaiji lay with legs spread and face turned away, trying to concentrate on something other than the sensation of the god drilling him repeatedly. He felt the deity pull out suddenly. Homura grasped Kougaiji, rolling him over and pulling him up on hands and knees. The deity sank into the now kneeling monarch with one swift thrust of his hips. Homura continued to ream the demon before him, the prince’s hair flying, breath expelled in harsh gasps. The sheets tore under Kougaiji’s nails as the demon gripped them, grunting with each hard thrust the being dealt to him.

That feeling of fire began to come over Kougaiji once more. “No…not again,” he uttered, trying to breathe. Arms feeling weak, his upper body sank to the mattress below. The monarch’s face rubbed against the sheets as his body was shaken by the deity’s brutal pace. Homura grasped the prince by his three long locks of raspberry hair, wrapping them in his fist, yanking the prince upward. Kougaiji yelped at the maneuver, his upper body supported by the god’s hold on his hair. He reached back to try to remove the offending hand with no avail. The monarch was soon writhing and whimpering as fire spread within him, body rocked by Homura’s punishing thrusts. He felt the deity stiffen behind him, groaning lewdly, and pulling him backward further by his hair. Kougaiji cried out as the deity’s heat painted his insides. Shuddering, he spilled himself onto the sheets below him. Spent and sated, Homura let the prince crumple to the waiting mattress. Grasping his waist, he thrust into the monarch a few more times in a languid manner as he sighed, before pulling out completely. “Aah…that was nice,” the deity remarked. He addressed the monarch, “Isn’t it better when you give in?” Kougaiji gave no answer as he panted, still shivering from the heat in his belly, lying on the wet mess that he’d made of the sheets. Homura took up stroking the prince’s back and hair in a leisurely fashion. “I suppose that I’ll have to keep you, demon. You’re a lot of fun.” Exhausted, Kougaiji drifted off into a fitful sleep, with visions of his lover gazing at him through accusing eyes, haunting him.
