A Whispered Nightmare
Chapter 2
Hazel R. Wood
And there he went mad. He looked from magazine to magazine for the man shown on the news. However, his search was becoming hopeless.
If only he had paid more attention to the stupid television. This sudden burst of energy was failing him and realization began to sink in.
He forgot all this for a reason. Why was he there in the first place, if it would only contribute to bringing back a sorrowful life he didn't need?
He bit his lip, thinking of how his life had been in the past couple of years. It was scheduled minute by minute. Nothing new had happened nothing had changed. Just day in and day out writing his books and occasionally signing them, sleep with a couple of the people who wanted the novels signed.
He was bored with his life. He needed this now! At least something would happen to him that would make him feel more humane.
“Young man… is there anything specific you're looking for?”
He looked up and saw the face of the kind elderly man who owned the shop.
“Well…” He paused for a moment. “Did you see… the news this morning?” He questioned, secretly crossing his fingers.
“Um… no, sonny. I didn't…”
And his hope sank deeply in his chest, almost as deep as the ancient man's wrinkles.
“I saw a man on there I knew… he made a speech about something to do with the most money income ever, or something, didn't catch most of it. I think he said Music Corporation.” He explained, not giving up.
“And since you're in an Asian store, you must mean a Japanese Music Corporation? Well the most famous company I can think of is N-G Productions.” The old man asked, raising an eyebrow.
Another explosion of energy went through him like a bolt of lightning. It was a strange feeling, this excitement. As far as he could remember, he had never felt anything like this before, even in bed.
“I think that's it! It was the president…”
The man smiled and nodded. “Yes, Seguchi Tohma has taken that company a great deal farther than anyone would have expected.”
And that was the name he had been looking for.

“Haven't you bothered me enough today?” Yuki asked irritably, leaning back in his chair, the phone against his ear.
“How can you say that Eiri-san? I know you're always happy to hear from me.” Tohma answered pleasantly. This only annoyed the blonde more.
“You wish, what the hell do you want? It's eleven fifty and I'm in the middle of something!” He said gruffly, glancing at his laptop with an impatient demeanor in his amber eyes.
“Oh, I'm sorry for interrupting.”
“Hn, no you're not. Now what do you want Seguchi?” Yuki questioned, really getting aggravated by the voice of his brother-in-law.
“It's just a question Eiri-san, no need to get all defensive over a simple question.”
There were two things about Tohma Seguchi that tested Yuki's patience was one; his subtle way of nagging. In fact, he was worse then quite a few women that Yuki had been with.
And two; the way he made everyone sound exaggerated, if someone called you in the middle of the night and started chatting pleasantly in your ear, you'd be pissed. He made it sound like you plotting aloud to go on a rage-ram (see below).
But Yuki didn't learn until later what Tohma was going to say, because at that moment, there was a scream that pierced the silence of the night.
“I'm hanging up.” And Yuki did, leaving the other blonde protesting firmly on the other line.
It came from the bedroom, and until Yuki opened the door, he found himself more bothered by the yell then he should have been.
On the bed, under tangled sheets, Shuichi Shindo was trembling with a fearful expression on his usually happy face. His hands were covering his ears. Blue eyes wide open, tears and sweat staining trails down his cheeks. He was curled in a ball, breathing raggedly. He didn't seem to notice that his lover entered the room.
“What the hell?” Yuki stared quizzically at the boy as he leaned down and shook Shuichi.
The terrified ocean eyes turned to the novelist. “Y-yuki?” With a sudden spring, the pink haired boy sat up and wrapped his arms around Yuki's neck, sobbing.
Yuki froze, unsure of what to do. He sat down and just let Shuichi cry. “What's wrong with you?”
Shuichi looked at him with big eyes but didn't say anything.
Yuki sighed, and shook his head, able to read what the boy was saying to him. “A nightmare… what about? And don't tell me it was something stupid.”
The singer shook his head, and swallowed hard in attempt to settle down. “I… it… was…”
And then Yuki knew he'd be there for a bit. He slouched slightly onto the pillows, trying to get comfortable but ended up giving Shuichi a better angle to cuddle with him, not that that was his goal or anything.
“It was…” The blonde urged on, secretly wishing he didn't have a novel to write; he really wanted to sleep, however, the comfort of the bed and the warmth radiating from the boy snuggling against him wasn't exactly making him feel lively.
“I… I don't…” Shuichi was finally catching his breath. “It was the worst nightmare I've ever had but… I…”
Yuki's eyes narrowed in comprehension. “You don't remember it, do you?” Shuichi didn't answer verbally, just nodded. The blonde sighed in irritation, “Don't freak out, it was just a dream.”
Shuichi remained quiet, and tightly gripped Yuki's shirt, not showing one sign of letting the blonde go back to his computer.
Yuki tried to get up but couldn't. With a sigh, he gave into the temptation to sleep. He put his hand Shuichi's head and was answered with big ocean blue eyes gazing at him.
“Just sleep you idiot, I'm not going anywhere.” Yuki said sarcastically, with a hint of a smile caressing the corners of his mouth.
Shuichi smiled faintly with ease that his lover was with him now.
“Thank you, Yuki.”

Yuki nodded slightly, easing himself under the sheets. The blue eyes were no longer gazing at him. Shuichi was once again sleeping, and very peacefully at that.
And as much as the blonde wanted to sleep, he found himself fully awake and staring into the youth's face.
He shuddered slightly and began to cough softly, trying not to wake the boy up.
Eventually Eiri Yuki did sleep, after hacking for about a hour.

He flipped through one of the twelve magazines he had purchased. He sat down on his couch, absorbed in the text. Not tearing his eyes away from the book, he grabbed a cigarette and lit it.
Only he didn't place it to his lips, it just smoldered in between his finger as he skimmed the pages.
It took him a couple of moments to realize the phone was ringing. And soon his editor was yapping in his ear. He yawned, still looking through the magazines.
“Sir, are you ignoring me?” She asked sharply.
“I guess I am, you should be used to it by now.” He answered his voice reflecting boredom.
She began to protest but he silenced her.
“I'll get the book done by Friday, okay?” Then he hung up. His eyes captivated by the words, `Tohma Seguchi, president of N-G Productions…'.
That was a confirmation of his suspicions. That was him
