Gravitation Fan Fiction ❯ Cats, Crutches and Babies? Oh My! ❯ Silent Confessions ( Chapter 3 )
[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
Konichiwa everyone!!
This chapter is one of my most favorite pieces. I feel very attached to this chapter for some reason and I hope you all love it as much as I do. When I wrote this chapter I didn't have the faintest idea how I was going to fill five pages with nothing and still get to where I needed to be for chapter four, but once I wrote the first paragraph it all started to flow. I just wrote what I felt and it seemed to work quite well!
Anyway..
Disclaimer: (sigh) I don't own Gravitation or any of the characters therein. They are the beautiful creations of Maki Murakami's twisted mind. Thank you Maki for writing gravitation for all of us yaoi fan girls out there to love and enjoy!

Yuki poked his head out of the shower and watched as Shuichi walked out of the bathroom and into the hallway. He cracked a smile when the baka's wet feet slipped on the hardwood floor and he fell flat on his cute little ass. Said singer picked himself up off the floor and hurried off to the bedroom, his face blushing a shade darker than his hair. Eiri shook his head and smiled as he closed the door and went back to washing his blonde tresses.
`He just doesn't understand… how much … he means to me,' Yuki thought dismally as he rinsed the last of the conditioner out of his hair in the now freezing water.
`I just don't know how to tell him.'
Just as he was turning off the taps, the author heard another loud crash resonate from somewhere in the house. No doubt Shuichi had slipped and fallen again.
“What an idiot,” He said lightheartedly as he stepped out onto the black bath mat. He grabbed his towel from the silver rack and dried himself off vigorously. Then, when he was sufficiently dry, he snatched his drawstring pants off of the chair where he had thrown them and put them back on. He hung his towel neatly back on the rack before heading out the door.
As Eiri neared the master bedroom he heard Shuichi singing the words to one of his first songs `Blind Game Again'. He walked in without even looking at the self absorbed little vocalist and headed right into his closet to pick out something to wear.
He rifled through his vast collection of clothes and finally settled on a navy blue shirt, a black tie, and a pair of dark gray tweed pants. He was about to walk back out of the closet, but he decided the outfit needed something. The novelist scanned the racks until he found the black Armani blazer he was looking for.
“Wear something nice brat,” Eiri called as he took the coat off of it's hanger and slid his arms into it. Yuki knew that Shuichi still wasn't dressed because the brat had yet to stop singing to himself as he always did when he was having trouble deciding what to wear. This was just one of many completely useless bits of information that Eiri didn't need to know, but did.
“Like what?” The singer asked cutely.
Yuki put his hand on his temple and sighed heavily. He was getting annoyed with the kid's constant ignorance.
“We already talked about this when we went to Mizuki's engagement party!” Yuki snapped as he pulled on a pair of socks, which he had neglected to put on earlier, “Just wear something that a normal human being would wear out in public. No fur suits, ears or tails. Just a simple pair of pants and a nice shirt will do.”
The writer walked out of his closet fully dressed and scowling. Shuichi jumped and squealed in mock embarrassment as he grabbed for the blanket on the bed to cover himself up in. Yuki rolled his eyes so drastically, the vocalist thought they might roll out of his lover's head.
Cracking a small smile, The novelist pushed Shuichi backward onto the bed as he walked by him.
“Hey!” The boy cried as he rolled off the bed and stood up, “What was that for you big meanie!”
Yuki paused and looked back at his boyfriend.
`God he's cute when he's mad,' He thought before sighing and leaving Shuichi's question hanging in the air between them.
Eiri turned and, just as he started out of the room, he put his arm out to catch himself in the doorway.
“And make sure you wear your hat and sunglasses this time!” he called hotly, “I don't want a repeat of the park!”
Shuichi blushed and shivered at the vivid memory of him and Yuki running like hell to escape the swarm of screaming girls and, much to his initial amazement, guys that had started chasing after them when somebody had screamed “Oh my god it's Shindou-kun and Yuki-sensei!”.
The singer also remembered the `pleasant' conversation that he and Yuki had had in the car on the way home.
~~~~flashback~~~~
“I told you, but did you listen to me? No!” Yuki roared as he pulled off the main road and headed for home.
“I'm sorry Eiri,” Shuichi apologized, “I'm just not used to...”
“I suggest you get used to it, because it's not going to get any better. Take it from someone who knows,” The novelist interrupted shortly.
After that no one said a word.
Shuichi was watching television that night when Yuki came out and apologized for yelling, in his own unique sort of way. He just allowed the brat to snuggle up to him on the couch after he sat down. That was always enough of an apology for Shuichi, and Eiri knew it.
~~~~End Flashback~~~~
Shu nodded and muttered and “uhhu” as he went back to getting dressed.
Yuki frowned slightly and headed to the kitchen to cook breakfast for the two of them. He really didn't mind doing most of the cooking for two reasons: one, because it relieved a lot of his tension and two, because it meant that Shuichi wasn't cooking, which was a good thing, both for his stomach and for his kitchen.
He sighed contentedly as he took the carton of eggs out of the fridge and set them on the blue marble-topped island. He got a green bowl down from the cupboard and started to break eggs into it.
He was making mushroom, onion and cheese omelets because he knew that they were one of Shuichi's favorite breakfasts, other than marshmallow filled kiddy cereals which the blonde couldn't even watch him eat anymore. He had tried a spoonful of the stuff once on Shuichi's request and had literally gagged. He liked cakes and desserts as much as the next guy, but that stuff was just disgusting.
“Yuukkiii!” The singer called loudly from the bedroom.
“What is it brat? I'm busy!” retorted the novelist sharply as he pulled the frying pan out of one of the bottom cupboards and set it onto the hot stove.
“Where are we going today?”
“You'll just have to wait and see,” Yuki said, smiling furtively.
“Awww! Can't you give me a little itty bitty hint?” Shuichi begged sweetly.
“No!” Eiri said shortly, “and to answer your next four questions, No no no and no!”
This made Shuichi smile. His lover knew that he would keep pestering him until he finally gave in. This gained Yuki a little repose… For the moment anyway.
The rest of the morning went as smoothly as was possible in that particular household. Shuichi had loved the breakfast and the pair's usual argument over who was going to do the dishes soon followed its completion. Yuki won, as usual, and went into his study to “work” or, at least that's what he had told Shuichi he was going in there to do. The truth was, the novelist had gone into his study to finalize one last minute reservation for the surprise trip he had been planning for almost two months. He wanted everything to be absolutely perfect, even if he did get cold feet again.
Eiri logged onto the Internet and went to finalize the dinner reservations at the resort he had made via e-mail. After hitting the `send' button on his laptop, he leaned back in his desk chair and stretched, wincing when he heard his back crack. It had been an extremely strenuous couple of months.
He also had a lot on his mind as of late and this trip just added to the load.
While he waited for conformation from the hotel he took another virtual tour of the room that he had booked. It was a beautiful park suite on the very top floor of the best hotel on the resort which, consequently and not all to surprisingly, was the most expensive as well. Not that money was ever really an issue with him; he would pay whatever it took for his Shu-chan to have the best.
The singer's happiness had always been and would always be a top priority in Yuki's books; A priority that he usually tended to with gifts and other materialistic things.
The problem was that his ego wouldn't let him give in to what his heart really desired and the novelist just couldn't be the loving, affectionate person that Shuichi wanted him to be. Eiri just wouldn't let himself become what he had hated for so long, even though in his heart he knew that was exactly what he wanted.
The room that Yuki had booked had just about everything in it. A chalet fireplace in the living room, a full kitchen, a walk out stone terrace with a hot tub, and two Jacuzzi's; one right in the living room and one in the en-suite. To top it all off the room had a private elevator to all the floors of the hotel and a spectacular view of the Eastern Shore of Lake Hakone.
He hoped that Shuichi would like it, though he knew his worry was just out of habit. He knew deep down that there was really no need for concern.
“As long as I'm there beside him,” Eiri thought out loud, “ He's happier than a kid in a candy store.”
Shuichi's complete infatuation with him was one thing that Yuki still hadn't been able to figure out. The kid always said it was love, but Yuki knew love. He knew how it worked in the minds of human beings. He knew how it moved and felt and thought and he knew how it could just up and leave you one day with out so much as a good-bye; No. What Shuichi felt for him was something far greater. The singer's feelings were so overwhelming, so complete and pure, that he was willing to do anything it took to satisfy his constant yearning to fulfill his desires, no matter the consequences or effects to himself or to other people. That kind of love was the rarest of all and it was still something that Yuki did not possess. That he could not possess.
For anyone.

I really hope you guys loved that chapter! I love it so much and I hope I can write like that in the future. I feel very sorry for poor Yuki right now. He's got so many things on his mind and he just can't handle it. I suppose that's why he's taking Shuichi on a vacation.
