Father

"Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me they rod and thy staff they comfort me. "We give you back your child heavenly father ashes to ashes, dust to dust amen," the priest said.

Shuichi Shindou, watch as they put his sister Maiko Shindou down in the ground Shuichi could not believe his sister was gone forever Shuichi was silent for the whole day Shuichi had block out everybody in the room.

"Shuichi are you hungry?" his friend said.

"No Hiro I am not hungry." He said in a sad tone

"Shuichi please you have to eat something" his friend pleaded with him.

"I will eat something but not right now Hiro," Shuichi tried to smile too his long hair friend.

"Ok, but promise me that you will eat something."

"I promise." Once again Shuichi was silent, he did not hear anyone until a baby cried Shuichi walked over to the tiny baby boy in the carriage picked him up and looked at the baby boy and smile. The baby looked just like his mother. Shuichi rocked his nephew back and forth and then remember about what happened.

*flashback*

Shuichi Shindou waited for his sister, Maiko Shindou to pick him up from the airport had just come home from Law school with his best friend Hiroshi Nakano.

"Hiro are you sure you don't want to wait for Maiko."

"I'm sure. My brother coming to get me I will call you later home"

"Okay bye Hiro." Shuichi watched as his best friend walk away from the airport. Five minutes later Shuichi's sister. Maiko came.

"Shuichi" said a curly blond hair girl

"Hey Maiko;"

Both siblings hugged each other. They had not seen each other for a while. Shuichi and Maiko could pass as twins both siblings had the same heart shaped face and the same warm hearted smile. The only different is Maiko had blond hair with blue eyes and Shuichi had pink hair with violet eyes.

"I am so glad you are home Onii-chan."

"It is good to be home Maiko." Shuichi smiled, both hug each other again.

"So Onii-chan where is Hiro."

"Oh his brother picked him up."

"Okay, hey Onii-chan wants some ice cream before we go home?"

"Sure." Shuichi said with a happy voice.

Shuichi picked up his bags and walked towards his sister's car. He knew something was wrong with his sister he could tell in her blue eyes, Maiko drive to the ice cream parole.

"May I please have two strawberry ice creams?" she said to the worker.

"Thank you."

Maiko and Shuichi sat down in ice cream parlor. Eating they ice cream, Shuichi could had swear that his sister had tears in her blue eyes. Shuichi reached for his sister's hand

"What is the matter little sister" he said with a puzzled look on his face,

Maiko look at her brother and try to smile. "Nothing is the matter Shuichi." She nervous laughs. Shuichi sighed looking at his sister he knew something was really wrong with his sister.

"Maiko don't lie to me, I know when you laugh like that something bad happened."

Maiko had tear in her eyes, "You know me too well Onii-chan." Long pause between the siblings. Maiko took a deep breath; "Hear it goes Shuichi I am pregnant." Shuichi almost choke on his ice cream when he hears those words.

"Pregnant!" he shouted.

"Keep your voice down Shu and yes I am pregnant" she whispered

"But, but, but Maiko how" shuichi shuttered. Maiko gave him you know how look

"You know what the hell I mean Maiko!" He started to shout. "Please Shuichi clam down for a minute." She plead with him, "Shuichi lets go to the park across the street okay"

"Fine then", Shuichi and Maiko went to the park.

"Onii-chan I know you are upset," Maiko looked at the Shuichi.

"Upset Maiko try angry!" Shuichi shouted.

"Okay you are angry." Shuichi and Maiko sat down on a bench Shuichi stared at Maiko and just shake his head.

"Maiko you are 19 years old, who just started collage," Maiko cut him off.

"Shuichi shut up I got yelled by mother, I don't need another Letcher from you or anybody else!" She said shout, Shuichi put his arm around his sister's shoulder.

"I am sorry Maiko I'm really surprise."

"I know it took me for a surprise too," she said with a nervous laugh.

"So Maiko are you- Maiko cut him off again

"Before you say anything Shuichi yes I am going to keep the baby"

Shuichi nodded his head, "I understand"

"Who is the father of the baby?" Maiko looked down at the ground.

"The father is not important" she whispered

"But"

"Shuichi just drop it okay."

That was the last time Maiko talk about the baby's father. Maiko laid her head on Shuichi's shoulder and started to cry.

"Oh boy Onii-chan I am scared to death"

"Don't worry everybody is going to help you"

"Thank you Onii-chan you're very understands," she wiped the tear away in his shirt.

"Let us go home Onii-chan"

"Yes finally"

Later that night Shuichi thought about Maiko and the baby he was to shocked about the whole thing Shuichi needed to talk to his best friend. Shuichi called Hiro.

*Ring, Ring, Ring*

"Hello" said Hiro.

"Hello Hiro" said the depressed pink hair boy.

"Hey Shuichi what the matter" in a puzzle voice

Shuichi sighed "Guess what I heard today?"

"Let me guess Maiko is pregnant."

Shuichi was surprised that Hiro knew before him he was angry at this point.

"How the hell did you know before me? And why didn't you tell before we left school you jackass?" he shouted.

"Before you bitted my head off listen to me. Maiko told me she was pregnant before we left school she wanted to tell you herself."

"I guess I was the last person to know huh" Shuichi laughed softly

"So did Maiko tell you who the father is?"

"No"

"Listen Shu she is going to be a good mother and when the baby comes we are going to spoil okay" Hiro laugh.

"Yeah I know, we will talk tomorrow okay Hiro"

"Bye Shuichi"

After Shuichi talked with his best friend, he thought about what he said Shuichi laid back in bed he knew everything is would be alright.

8 months later

Maiko was having pains and bleeding the baby was coming and it was a little early Shuichi and Hiro rushed her to the hospital. Shuichi's mother started to cry, Shuichi told her that Maiko would be okay. The doctor came out; everybody stood up to hear the news.

"The baby is finding and it is a boy, but Maiko she is not fine. Maiko lost a lot of blood and I don't think she will make through the night."

Everybody was stunned to hear the news Shuichi struggle to say his word.

"Can we see you her" Shuichi to said.

The doctor nodded "Yes but only one at a time okay."

"Go ahead Shuichi go see your sister" Hiro said

Shuichi went to the room and saw his sister, she was hooked up to many different machines, she looked so lifeless. Shuichi kneeled down next to her bed and touched her arm.

"Oh Maiko please don't leave your son he is going to need you" he stared to cry.

Then Maiko opened her blue eyes and touched the top of Shuichi's pink hair, he lift his head to see his sister.

"Maiko" Shuichi tries to smile.

"Promise me that you will take care of my son and name him Eiri." she grasps

"Yes I promise" Shuichi cries.

"Tell mother and my son that I love them so much" she said in a dead in voice.

"Maiko don't go I need you please don't go" he whispers

"I love you Onii- Chan" said Maiko on her last breath, then she was gone.

"Maiko, Maiko, no please don't go" he shouted

Hiro ran into the room when he heard Shuichi's cry. Hiro grabbed Shuichi by the arm. He fought him off Shuichi shook his dead sister to wake up.

"Maiko please wake up your son needs you, please don't go." Hiro grabbed Shuichi again and hugged him.

"She is gone Hiro" he whispered to Shuichi, Hiro also started to cry.

"No Hiro!" Shuichi shouted

Hiro and Shuichi cried then Shuichi's mother joined into the group.

*Flash back end*

"Hey Shuichi are you okay" Hiro smile

"Yes I am fine" Shuichi was still holding on the baby boy

"So did you pick a name for him?"

"Yes I did" Shuichi smiled at the baby.

"What is his name?"

"His name will be Eiri"

"That is a nice name, where did you get that from."

"Maiko told me before she died"

Shuichi cried when he talk about his sister, Hiro came over to the pink hair boy rubbed his back and kissed his forehead.

"Everything is going to be okay Shu"

"I know Hiro".

Shuichi looked at his nephew Eiri Shindou he smiled at him and kissed his forehead.

"Don't worry I promise I'll will take care of you," Shuichi whisper to his nephew.
