"Tadaima!!!" Shuuichi yelled, bursting into the apartment he shared with his lover. He hung his coat on the rack and waited for the usual "Okaeri nasai" that Yuki muttered when he returned from a long day of work. However, only silence greeted him. Shuuichi frowned, an unusual sight to see on the genki singer's face. He walked down the hallway.
"Yuki?" he called.

Nearing Yuki's office, he heard voices exchanging hushed words. Daring to gaze inside, he stifled a gasp.

Tears welling in his eyes, Shuuichi sank to his knees in horror. Two blondes stood before his line of vision, one pressing the other against the wall; pants and moans filled the air. The shorter blonde moaned out the name of his lover repeatedly; then suddenly, the taller one found a rather sensitive spot on the other's neck, and the shorter man threw his head back in a deep cry.

Shuuichi's vision blurred, and he wept silently into his hand. Where had he gone wrong? He tried so hard to be the best lover he could possibly be...but in the end, it wasn't enough. In that moment, his heart shattered; he could have sworn the stabbing pain in his chest resonated from the cracks forming in his soul.

It was over now. Everything Shuuichi lived for began killing him slowly from the inside out. On the surface, his facade began to crumble, and his bandmates seemed clueless; but worst of all, Eiri seemed utterly oblivious. In fact, he only grew colder and more distant as the weeks went by.
By the time of Bad Luck's Christmas concert, Shuuichi was nothing more than a walking corpse. He left a ticket on Eiri's desk, as always; however, he had no hope of the romance novelist coming to watch him. He doubted the man would even turn on the television to watch the concert.

As snow fell around him, Shuuichi lifted his face to the hundreds of thousands of adoring fans before him. Tears fell down his cheeks and froze on his skin, reflecting the state of his now bitter, frigid heart.
"I have one last song to leave you with," he said softly into the microphone, his broken voice echoing across the stage and arena. "It's much different than what we normally wrote together as a band." As he spoke, hooded figures in black appeared onstage behind him. He choked on a sob for a moment before continuing.

"I call it Hide and Seek." With that, he motioned for the others to move forward. The figures formed a semicircle around him, while Hiro and Suguru stood to the side, awed beyond belief. Shuuichi set the tempo, and immediately the warm, rich sound of choral song filled the arena.

Shuuichi began to weep violently as he sang, his voice echoing for what seemed an eternity onward. Gazing upon his loyal fans, he nearly choked on his words as he found a blonde-haired lover in the crowd, making his way slowly towards the stage, as if in a trance.

The sharp words cut into the singer's heart like daggers, tearing the already withered remains apart even further. Suddenly, the audience no longer existed; now, it was merely Shuuichi singing to his beloved Eiri.

Slowly, Shuuichi reached into his pocket. Flipping open a small, yet razor-sharp blade, he pulled his shirt off to reveal hundreds of scars over his arms and chest. Then, quickly, he took the blade and slid it down his left arm, effectively slitting his veins open. Another slice, and the right arm immediately matched the left one. The crowd gasped and screamed as the color drained from his face; his bandmates rushed to his aid, but the damage was done.
And as Shuuichi bled to death in a pool of crimson, Eiri reached out, gathered him in his arms, and kissed him until his world faded to black.
