Gravitation Fan Fiction ❯ Second Chance ❯ Chapter 1 ( Chapter 1 )

[ X - Adult: No readers under 18. Contains Graphic Adult Themes/Extreme violence. ]
Hey everyone, before you start reading my story, I want to say a few things. I know some of you aren’t too keen on stories with Shuichi cutting himself, and suicide attempts, but I had to add it into my story, the reason is because this is a true story. It was hard to write because everything Shuichi went or is going through is what I went through myself. In some ways it helped me to write this story, it got me to open up on what had happened to me.

It does probably sound morbid, but please give it a chance. If any of you guys who read this are going through the same thing, and need to talk about it, you can email me, and I will be happy to reply. I’ve been suffering from Depression and anxiety for eight years now.

Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy my story.

Second Chance

Chapter One

Shuichi Shindou was only 16 years old when he fell in love. It was his first boyfriend, his first kiss and his first sexual experience. He fell in love with a gorgeous guy called Simiko, he was tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He was so happy when Simiko asked him to be his boyfriend.

He found out he was gay the day his balls dropped. At first he was scared. Scared of being bullied, scared of being called a freak, but everything worked out great. His mom and step dad were really supportive, Hiro his best friend didn’t think he was weird and he always made sure Shuichi knew he was there for him if he needed anything. Also his step brother, the famous vocalist of the band Nittle Grasper, Ryuichi Sakuma was a great support, he was the best brother in the world and Shuichi loved him very much.

For the first year Shuichi’s relationship was great. Simiko was so nice and funny, he always made Shuichi laugh, and he made him feel special. They used to hang out with their friends during the night doing usual teenage things.

Simiko got him addicted to cigarettes, and Shuichi began drinking a lot, but he didn’t care, he was happy, and in love.

Unfortunately staying happy was not something he was destined to be. Nearly two years into the relationship, it started to go wrong. It began with little things, Simiko would shout at him if he smoke too many cigarettes, and drank too much alcohol. It didn’t bother Shuichi as first, but Simiko got worse, because he was two years older than Shuichi, he started college while Shuichi was still in high school. Simiko would make sure he knew where Shuichi was every minute of each day.

If Shuichi wasn’t where Simiko expected him to be, he would shout at Shuichi, and throw a tantrum. Simiko became very controlling and possessive. Whenever Shuichi talked to other guys, Simiko would get jealous and drag Shuichi away, he had to make sure he never looked at another guy while Simiko was around, unless he wanted to make his boyfriend mad.

One evening they got into their biggest argument and Simiko hit Shuichi. Of course the man was sorry after. Shuichi wanted to break up with him, but Simiko started to cry, saying he was sorry, begging him to give him another chance. Which Shuichi did. His parents and brother knew what was going on, they used to hear Simiko shouting at Shuichi, and it was not hard to notice the bruises he wore nearly everyday.

They tried to make Shuichi break up with his boyfriend, telling him he didn’t deserve this kind of treatment. But Shuichi didn’t listen, he thought he could handle it.

Sometimes Shuichi would think that maybe it was his fault, that Simiko didn’t mean to hurt him, maybe he did something wrong. Simiko would always be sorry afterwards and promise to never hurt the younger man again.

And that’s how it went, every time Simiko would hit him, Shuichi would try and break up with him, which would make the older man cry, which made Shuichi give in and give him another chance. It was a vicious circle, one he could never see him escaping from.

Their relationship began to get more strained because Shuichi refused to leave his house. If Simiko wanted to see him, he would have go to his house. They would just stay in, usually watching films. Shuichi knew Simiko was frustrated about staying in every night, but Shuichi was too afraid to be out in public with him, he was afraid people would see Simiko shouting or hitting him.

Unfortunately staying in all the time made Simiko more violent, he started to beat Shuichi. It would always be before sex, it was like his sick twisted way to say sorry.

Shuichi knows what most of you are thinking, it’s the same question that he has asked himself over and over again. Why didn’t he break up with him? It’s a really good question, unfortunately one he doesn’t have an answer for. Shuichi has thought of an answer over and over again, but he still has no answer. He guessed deep down in some twisted part of his brain, he did love the older man, he was also afraid to be alone.

Simiko had isolated Shuichi from his friends and family, he made Shuichi became dependant solely on him.

It was nearly three years into the relationship when Shuichi had his first panic attack, at the time he had no idea what was happening. His heart was thumping hard and fast in his chest, his body began to shake uncontrollably, and thoughts in his head made him think he was going to die.

The panic attack only lasted for a few minutes, but it was the scariest minutes of his life. From then on his life went down hill. His mom took him to the doctors, where he was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. He was given medication to help him with his day to day life. His mother finally put her foot down and forbade him to see Simiko again, Shuichi was relieved when his mother phoned Simiko, telling him to stay away from her son.

Shuichi finally felt free, but at a price. He saw Simiko when he was out shopping and the older man beat the shit out of him, he guessed it was his sick way of saying goodbye. Vut the biggest gift Simiko gave Shuichi was fucking up his life.

--

It was April 16th, Shuichi’s 19th birthday. He should have been happy, but because Simiko beat him up last night, he just felt worn out. He did feel a little happy though. His brother Ryuichi is coming home today, he’s been in America for a while now, and Shuichi can’t wait to see him again. That’s why he’s at Narita airport now, waiting for his jet to land.

Even though the two men were not related by blood, they were as close as any brothers. They both loved music, and Ryuichi was Shuichi’s idol. Shuichi couldn’t believe it when his mom told him she was marrying Ryuichi’s father, which was five years ago.

Ryuichi was happy to finally have a little brother and he always looked out for Shuichi, he was so angry when he found out what Simiko was doing to his baby brother, he wanted to beat the shit out of the guy, but Shuichi wouldn’t let him. He was very upset when he had to leave for America, he didn’t like it that he wouldn’t be able to protect Shuichi.
Anyway there was no fans or anyone from the media at the airport, which was a relief. But Ryuichi’s best friend Tohma was here, along with his wife Mika. Shuichi couldn’t believe it, but Eiri Yuki was here too, Shuichi knew he was Mika’s younger brother, but he never realised he knew Ryuichi.

Shuichi couldn’t help looking at him, he was very nice looking. Tall with blonde hair and golden eyes. Shuichi looked away, feeling even more depressed, he didn’t know if he had the guts to ever have another relationship again, he was afraid of getting hurt again, he didn’t think he had the courage. He felt tears in his eyes when he realised how foolish he was, why would anyone want to go out with him? Who would be willing to take on his problems? Wiping his tears away, he cursed Simiko. He hated the older man more than anything, he’s ruined his life in more than one way.

--

What am I doing here? I don’t even know Ryuichi Sakuma. I’m only here because Tohma dragged me here. He thinks I’m turning into a recluse, but I’m a writer for fucks sake, I’ve always got deadlines. I don’t have time to waste standing around airports waiting for someone I don’t know’ Eiri Yuki ranted to himself as he lit a cigarette.

“Oh Tohma, look at Shuichi.” Mika says.

Yuki looked over to see a young pink haired guy with big purple eyes. He’s very good looking, but it looks like he was used as someone’s punch bag.

“Who is he?” Yuki asks.

“That’s Ryuichi’s step brother.” Tohma answers.

“Maybe we should go and say hello?” Mika asks.

“No, he obviously wants to be alone. He would have come over if he wanted company, just leave him be.” Tohma says.
Yuki didn’t know why, but he felt slightly disappointed, he really wanted to meet the pink haired boy. He looks so unhappy, Yuki wanted to comfort him, and make him smile. He didn’t know where these thoughts were coming from, he wasn’t a nice person, he was a cold hearted bastard.

But that’s how he felt every time he looked at Shuichi. He had to fist his hands up to stop himself from walking over to him. He just watched him, noting that he smoked as much as he did.
