“You did not answer your cell.” What a smile.

 

“I aim to please.” I want to light another but you take it away.

 

“Your editor nearly got fired for keeping your contract.”

 

“But thanks to you, she didn't, I'm sure.” I take out another one. “I still refuse to change a thing. Nothing. Even the mispellings.”

 

“Even the pen name?” You smile as I light it. “Ah, I suppose not.”
