She'd given her plan considerable thought, and for good reason. If things went well then that was fine, but there were so many things that could all go to hell on a fast jet express. It was a gamble, but she had to do something -- that much she knew. Something had to be done or she would lose him.
Not that she believed for a moment that Kira would ever physically leave her, but she could feel him, each day a little bit by little bit more, withdrawing from her. How long before he withdrew completely she wondered, and terrified of losing him, she'd thought up this crazy plan.
There were times, although she despised even thinking of them, when she had to fight the urge to hate Cagalli. Her hate wasn't anything so petty as the political leader being more popular or prettier than her, and Lacus knew she had her own influential power to spare. No, the reason Lacus could so easily hate the blonde was for the simple fact that the two men Lacus cared most for were both too deeply in love with Cagalli to do any thing.
Of course, both men had their own be-damned fool's way of showing it. And although mildly annoyed with Athrun for leaving Orb when he did during the second war, Lacus had been relieved when he'd returned shortly after the battling was over. Returned to Orb, return to Cagalli. Had, in fact, returned to the Parliament House and proposed to Cagalli before he'd been back for more than a day. Disappointment had threatened again when Cagalli had put him off, and Lacus had finally had to prod matters along by suggestion a double wedding one day.
Both Kira and Cagalli had been shocked by her suggestion, of course, but Athrun had been generally pleased, and that night, in the privacy of the little beach house she shared with Kira--despite keeping separate bedrooms--she and Kira finally discussed the reality of their own future together for the first time. Three months later, they'd married in a quiet but perfect ceremony, and Lacus had been ecstatic.
Cagalli had held out for several more months before finally accepting Athrun's proposal, and things seemed to be going well for both couples. They didn't see much of each other, it was true: Athrun and Cagalli were busy in Orb, dealing in world affairs and commerce while she and Kira stayed marooned on their own little beach. Kira read his books and wrote his programs; she studied music and art and astrophysics. In the evening, they would sit together in front of the screen, until it was time to go to bed. Life was quiet but mostly content.
It should have been content, but something was missing. Something vital.
She was worried about Kira--his silences were growing and beginning to scare her. Conversations with Athrun indicated he was worried about Cagalli, too--she was working herself too hard again and was in danger of another collapse if she continued. When Athrun asked if maybe he and Cagalli could come visit for a couple of days as a get-away, Lacus's mind had immediately begun spinning around different plans and scenarios.
It had to be done right, that was most important. If done poorly, she would lose more than just her husband, and that was something she would not stand for. It was best, therefore, she decided, to go for Cagalli first. If she could convince the other woman to play in her plot then Lacus knew she would have them all.
Lacus bid her time well.
The first day they'd exclaimed over how long it had been since they'd last gotten together and that they missed one another. They talked of times old and new while sitting around with drinks in hand. That night, after they'd retired, Kira didn't touch her. He never touched her when Cagalli was in the same place.
The next day, the two couples spent outside, laughing and playing in the surf and sand. They napped away the heat of the afternoon and BBQ-ed in the evening's light. A festival of insects finally chased the partiers from star-viewing, and the couples settled before the screen to while away the rest of the evening.
Throughout the day Lacus had observed Cagalli, testing the measure of her plan and weighing the decision to proceed or not. She observed Cagalli and their husbands--the way Athrun's tired eyes watched his wife stroll through the surf looking for shells to place in the bucket Kira held for her; how Kira went back inside to retrieve some sunscreen lotion when he'd discovered the blonde had forgone such things, scolding her as he applied ample portions to her arms and back despite her scowling protests that a little color wouldn't hurt. A hundred little tiny things the men did--each one reflecting their deep love for this woman.
Yes, Lacus could have easily hated her, but that would gain her nothing and probably definitely lose her her husband. She couldn't take that risk, so she had to risk something else instead.
Nothing gambled, nothing gained.
They were gathered back in the simple living room with drinks and snacks and a couple of movies to watch. By some unorchestrated movement, Athrun and Cagalli had chosen to sit on the floor, leaving the couch free for Lacus and Kira. Athrun had at some point stretched out, his head in Cagalli's lap while the blond leaned back against the couch between Kira's legs, her golden hair spilling across his lap like a blanket.
It was that sight--the sight of a blonde head resting against her husband's knee, Kira's fingers unconsciously smoothing and curling the golden strands--that decided Lacus's mind for her. She made her move when they paused the screen for a break.
"You know, there's something I've been thinking about," she spoke before they could all resettle again.
"Hmm? What's that?"
"Well, it's just that, we're friends. Very good friends."
"I know we haven't been able to get away much to come and visit, but you and Kira are always welcome to come up to Orb for an evening or two anytime you'd like, Lacus."
"Thank you, Athrun. It's just that there's something I've been considering recently and I'd hoped you and Cagalli could help me?"
"You need our help for something?" Cagalli asked, surprise coloring her voice with a tiny twinge of wariness. "What with?"
"It's simple really," Lacus replied as she closed the distance between their lips with practiced ease and left them there until Cagalli finally jerked away. "I've wondered what kind of lover you are."
"Lacus," Kira began his voice warning.
"As you see, it's something only you and Athrun could answer for me, and since you're here now, and who knows when you'll next find the opportunity to come out..." She left the thought there to hang in the air between them.
"You can't be serious," Athrun denied, his voice awed, but Lacus remained focused on Cagalli. After all, it was the blonde who would make or break Lacus's plans---Kira would follow through only with her approval, no matter of his own wants or desires. Athrun, too, Lacus knew, would follow his wife's lead, no matter how indecent that path might become. Therefore it was Cagalli she had to convince if anything was to happen--and it had to happen if she was to keep Kira, of that she was assured.
Cagalli watched her, calculating, trying to determine what Lacus's purpose in this affair was. Golden eyes sought Kira's face first before sliding to Athrun's frowning visage, and then back to Kira before finally returning to Lacus.
She almost had her; she felt sure of it.
"What kind of lover are you, Cagalli Yula Athha? Won't you show me, or are you afraid?"
The last was but a whispered breath before she brushed her lips against the blonde's. Cagalli hesitated--Lacus could feel the indecision teetering through her before those sea-salt chapped lips opened beneath hers and the blonde took over the kiss.
Lacus let her, willingly, a jolt of success rushing through her.
She opened herself voluntarily to the other woman's intrusion. Despite the distraction of silently encouraging Cagalli to continue kissing her, Lacus was well aware of the other two persons in the room. Athrun watched them nervously, unsure how to stop what had so suddenly started, but he didn't worry Lacus. It was Kira--Kira who watched her so intently that she could feel his eyes burning her skin from his blazing gaze. It was more passion she'd received from him in over a year, and her body responded to that heady heat instinctively.
She pressed forward; flushing her body against Cagalli's and taking over the kiss. There was a tiny sound that might graciously be called a whimper as Cagalli fought a moment before backing down, and Lacus wondered if there would always be an unconscious battle between them. Maybe.
She maintained the kiss a full minute longer, until after she felt the heat of Kira's body tingling behind her.
"What are you thinking, Lacus?" he asked quietly, and she turned a little away from her kissing partner to look at her husband.
Seeing him, she knew she had wagered correctly. There was lust blazing from him, unlike any passion he'd ever displayed for her benefit, and even now, it was a bitter tang in her chest that he still wasn't looking at her but at Cagalli. Cagalli who was breathing heavily, her golden eyes glassy and cheeks rosy, her lips full and glossy.
Burying any hurt she might have felt-- any jealousy or hate, at least for this night -- Lacus turned and kissed Cagalli again. Kira pressed closer, and she could feel the proof of his desire, hard and eager and only from watching her kiss another woman. No, not just any woman, her mind forced her to concede, but Cagalli. And with that thought, she slid out from between them and slid behind Cagalli, pressing her forward to close the gap of space she'd left.
She hardly need coaxing at all, and Lacus stepped away as the two came together, lips crashing in a noisy moan of desire.
Her heart was racing, but she forced herself to watch. Her husband kissing another woman, hungrily, passionately. No, not another woman. He was kissing Cagalli.
Lacus stepped further away, and that's when she was reminded of the forth person in the room. Athrun stood watching in horrified fascination as his wife and best friend engaged in oral mating.
"Athrun."
"You can't be serious. This is not happening," he denied fiercely, but the words were nothing more than whispered breath, barely making sound. "You... they... Dammit, Lacus. We can't..."
He didn't seem to know what he wanted to say and so she took pity on him. He didn't asked to be in love with someone who was already in love with another, either, and she couldn't help but suspect his marriage had been suffering just as hers had been. Sometimes, though not often, Lacus wondered how her life might have been different if she had gone forward and married Athrun as their families had intended. It didn't matter, she concluded, because she would still be in love with Kira and he with Cagalli. But was it really any better to have the one you loved in a legal sense if you didn't have them fully?
Athrun turned away--yes, the sight was painful, but she forced him to look back. "Kira is truly passionate, isn't he?" she breathed, excited despite herself. "And Cagalli..."
"Why are you doing this, Lacus? It.. they can't-- you know--"
"He is my husband; I am his wife. I love him; he loves her."
Athrun swallowed nervously.
"He will not divorce me, but I would lose him just the same. You're the same, aren't you, Athrun? You're just the same as me."
Across the room, the other couple's fever had them sinking onto the couch, lost to everyone and everything except themselves.
"I will not lose him, no matter what it takes. How about you, Athrun? Will you lose her or take the risk with me?"
"What you're suggesting, Lacus, is wrong. They're siblings. You know that."
"All the more reason to guard and protect their secret. I will not be left, Athrun. You must decide for yourself what you can and can't live with; what is right; what is wrong? These things change, nothing is stable. It is your choice then, that makes the difference; your decision. What will you do?"
And then she left him, returning to the other couple in order to coax them to a more acceptable location.
"The bedroom would be much more comfortable to continue this in, don't you agree," she asked, trailing kisses along the shoulder Cagalli had managed to bare of Kira's. The two started apart, and in the wide horror-struck golden eyes looking up at her, Lacus could see Athrun standing behind her. "Shall we go then? All of us, together?"
"I--oh my god," Cagalli exhaled, flopping back onto the couch with her eyes squeezed shut. Beneath her, Kira shifted and Lacus had to move so that he could stand up.
"Cagalli--?"
"God, I should--we should go," the blonde managed, sitting up and finally looking back up at Athrun. He reached out to help her stand, and she stared at the hand he extended to her. Then she forced herself to take it. Athrun pulled her up, and then pulled her against him, his mouth slashing hungrily, possessively over hers.
Kira turned and walked away, leaving the three alone in the living room. Lacus would have thought he'd run away, but he'd left the bedroom door open behind him--a silent offer. He would not interfere, not stay there to influence Cagalli's decision in any way.
"Athrun?" Cagalli said questioningly when he finally released her lips. And then, soft and ashamed, "I'm sorry."
"I love you," Athrun responded simply, and Cagalli hid a sob in a self-derogative little laugh.
"I don't know why. God knows I don't deserve it."
"It isn't something that is earned or deserved, Cagalli," he insisted, brushing his knuckles down her cheek before kissing her gently again. "I love you. It simply is. And you... you love him."
"Athrun, no! I--"
"I care about him, too," he interrupted her horrified protests. "Kira and Lacus, they're special. But I love you. I-- I don't want to lose you, ever."
"I'm not going anywhere, although I'd understand if you wanted you. You have... every right to want to divorce me, I know--"
"No! No, Cagalli. No divorce," Athrun practically begged; his voice thick, his throat clogged with fear and denial. "Just... just promise me that no matter what, you won't leave me."
"Athrun..." The enormity of what he asked her, here on the precipice of another huge event... the world was too uncertain to promise away her future anymore than she already had, but.... "I can't--I don't know what may happen, but... but I won't leave you voluntarily. How's that?" she offered.
"That's... better than nothing," he agreed resignedly.
"Good. Then..." Cagalli shifted away, but Athrun refused to let her go, and her fists clenched helplessly in the material of his shirt. "Then I guess we should go get our bags and--"
"Why?" Lacus interrupted standing.
"Why?" Lacus interrupted standing.
Cagalli rounded on her, fiery temper raging. "Because I--"
"Let's stay," Athrun suggested softly, stopping Cagalli before she could really get started.
"What?"
He kissed her; his tongue sliding past her surprise to gently coax and calm her until she relaxed back in his arms. "Unless you really want to leave," he amended.
Lacus stepped forward, trapping Cagalli between her and Athrun in a familiar pose. "Kira is waiting for your decision."
Cagalli's breath sucked in with an angry hiss, but her body was already responding to the words. Lacus could tell; Athrun could, too. Golden eyes looked up at him searchingly before she finally spoke.
"I do love you," Cagalli insisted, and although he thought he already knew it, the words were like a balm upon his own frazzled nerves.
"I'm glad," he answered, holding her closer for a moment longer--just one last minute before he had to let go.
"Then how should we do this?"
They all started, just a little. Kira stood in the bedroom doorway, water dripping from his face and staining his jeans from where he'd wiped his hands. The plain white cotton shirt he'd worn all day was still unbuttoned, leaving an appealing strip of golden brown flesh bare to view.
"I suppose we could take turns," Lacus offered reasonably, turning to join her husband so that the two couples stood united, facing each other.
"Athrun?" Kira called softly, facing his old friend directly. "Is this something you're comfortable with?"
Athrun's frown returned in force. "I won't lie and say it is."
"But you're agreeing to it anyway."
"Yes."
"I see." Kira was silent and thoughtful for a moment more before gesturing them forward. "Then why don't we all stop standing around out here. We can be more comfortable in the bedroom."
Lacus slipped away first, and Cagalli slide inside ahead of Athrun, shooting Kira a nervous look. But Athrun stopped before passing the door, looking down at the hand gripping his arm before looking up at Kira's face.
"Thank you."
Athrun scowled, embarrassed, but muttered in response, "I... that... it's not necessary."
Kira offered a small laugh and then pulled his friend in for an embrace. "There are still many things I have yet to thank you for. This is just one."
Seeing the amused smile on his friend's face filled Athrun with a daring. It was a successful feint, and Kira blinked back at him in surprise as Athrun pulled away from the short, dry kiss, his lips still tingling slightly from where they'd touched Kira's.
Kira watched him shrewdly before coming to a decision. "Okay," he answered, but to what Athrun wasn't sure.
"Okay?"
"Okay," Kira repeated, and suddenly his mouth was pressed to Athrun's, opening just fractionally, daring the dark-haired man to deepen it.
Tongues slid over each other as lips and mouths drank freely. Athrun gave as good as he got before Kira's body pressed him into the door and hard awareness chased a spike of panic through his consciousness--this wasn't his wife he was kissing. This wasn't even a woman. It was a man's body pressing into his; a man's body lacking all the softness and give of a woman's. It was Kira, his best friend since forever, who was pressing him back against the door and rubbing their erections together through their clothes--and he was hard. Athrun was painfully hard. And he wanted to come. Badly.
Cagalli watched as her brother and husband stood in the doorway. She didn't understand Lacus's purpose in starting this crazy series of events tonight, but desire rode her and she promised herself that she would better analyze the matter later. Much later. In this moment, Cagalli was torn between intense arousal and acidic jealousy, and that jealousy roused the vile taste of fear in her because she couldn't be sure who she was more jealous of: Athrun, or Kira.
"Beautiful, aren't they?" Lacus practically sighed. Standing beside Cagalli, Lacus was watching as well.
Cagalli wasn't fooled, despite Lacus's seemingly calm disposure. The other woman was just as aroused as she was. Looking back to where Kira had Athrun pressed up against the door, their hips grinding together, Cagalli's belly tightened.
Yes, they were beautiful together like that. Athrun's pale skin and dark hair; Kira golden brown all over from hours spent in the sun. They looked like night and day, and it was erotic and breathtaking all at once.
"We shouldn't allow them to keep ignoring us," she heard herself say, and Lacus shot her a sharp look.
"No, we shouldn't," the other woman agreed, turning to face Cagalli.
The blonde's clothes were rumpled but still in place. Lacus was still completely dressed. That, she decided, would be the first thing to be rectified. She went first, pulling the sash free from her wrap-around skirt and blouse so that the material fell down around her legs like a revealing cloud. She wore no under garments.
Lacus looked back at Cagalli challengingly, and blushing, the blonde reached for the tie holding her own skirt tight. Letting the material fall revealed that she'd been too lazy or modest to change from her bikini, and beneath the shirt she tugged off was a plain white bra.
Lacus reached out a cupped one milky white globe, and Cagalli started. "You're breasts are smaller than mine," she noted, stepping forwards and crushing their chests together as she surreptitiously reached around the blonde's back and unfastened the garment. And then she pushed her back, leaving Cagalli to flail for a moment before she hit and bounced on the bed.
It was about that moment that they both realized the boys were no longer wrapped up in their own selves.
"You were taking too long," Lacus told them, and then added more sweetly, "Shall we then?"
Athrun looked away, face still flushed with his embarrassment and arousal, but Kira only looked predatorily. It seemed as though he prowled across the room to join them there at the bed.
"Lacus," he acknowledge, kissing her briefly, and sharing the taste of his lust and passion. And then he abandoned her to crawl up onto the bed and onto the waiting blonde.
Now would be their moment, she thought, watching the two kiss passionately. She would have her chance again later. And she moved away to go and stand back beside Athrun who stood transfixed watching his wife and friend make love. They were beautiful together; her Kira, his Cagalli. And for this piece they could do nothing but watch.
Cagalli watched, aware of her nakedness as Kira crossed the room and kissed his wife. Desire, jealousy--the need and repulsion warred inside her, tying her insides into knots. She knew what was going to happen. Knew to the marrow of her bones that it was wrong; knew to the core of her being that she wanted it and was going to have it and wouldn't be able to live without it.
And when Kira turned away from Lacus and turned to her instead, Cagalli knew without a doubt in her mind that if just for this moment, if only for tonight, she would make every minute last a lifetime before it was over, ended too soon. She reached for him, raising up to meet his lips even as his body lay down over hers like a blanket.
He was so warm; his skin burning beneath her fingers as she slid her hands over him, under his clothing, chasing first the shirt from his shoulders and arms and then his jeans. She clung to him, his weight pushing against her, a hard ready reminder that this was more than just a day-fantasy. She wanted to touch him, to experience everything that was him, but couldn't wait. She needed him too much to wait.
His hand, large and calloused, skimmed over her surface, eliciting trails of excitement before hesitating at her bikini bottoms, teasingly tracing the material in silent query for permission. Her answer was a muffled moan spilled into his mouth as her hips canted off the bed in silent demand. And then they were as blessedly naked as each other, hot flesh rubbing at hot flesh, greedy and excited.
Cagalli moaned anxiously, arms and legs wrapping around Kira and dragging him against her body as she writhed and undulated beneath him. Their bodies, so wickedly, perfectly matched, aligned, and she had only to shout out a sharp command before his hips thrust forward, forcing himself into her body; a welcomed invasion.
He was large or she was small; in either case, he filled her completely, wrangling a scream from her throat as he sank deeply. She surrounded him like a tight, hot fist; the pain of it was pleasure, or the pleasure of it was painful, and with a second thrust they cried out in unison, surprise and shock mingled with hungry desire, urging them to mate. Faster, harder, Kira's hips pistoned forward and Cagalli's cried under the assault, screaming for more.
It wasn't enough, and Kira grabbed at her hips, lifting her up, slinging one leg up over his shoulder as the other attempted to wrap around his back; and the new answer achieved left Cagalli screaming wordlessly until Kira's shout rose to match hers.
The silence in the aftermath of their orgasm was broken only by the tiny sounds of Lacus and Athrun mating on the floor. It had proved too much stimulation to stand there, watching helplessly as her husband and his wife fucked as if their very souls depended on it.
Lacus had cried out first, turning from the scene and covering Athrun's mouth with her own. Athrun needed no prompting to respond, eagerly pulling her to him and deepening the kiss. Lacus's body pressed against his was not unfamiliar and he accepted her offer in helping him undress until he was just as naked as everyone else in the room.
The bed was too small for four people engaged in two separate activities, and so by default they ended on the floor, Lacus pulled Athrun to her desperate to slack her lust, and he fell into her with equal enthusiasm as the sounds of Kira's and Cagalli's mating still filled the room with growing intensity. Athrun and Lacus found their own release in soundless moans and choked shouts, clinging tightly to the other.
There was a protest of bed springs as Cagalli and Kira shifted--Cagalli groaning at the sudden aching of certain muscles, and Kira murmuring insensibly--followed by a sigh as bodies settled into each other more comfortably. Cagalli glowed under the mellow haze of slated lust, and Kira didn't bother to curb the instinct to touch her, trailing his fingers teasingly slow over her skin, down her chest and torso, over around one rounded hip, and back up again. She was too exhausted to do more than simply enjoy the attention, one hand curled around his upper arm patterning out small, slow circles.
Kira watched her for an eternity, like he couldn't get enough of seeing her like this, laid bare before him--and then he was kissing her again, slowly, taking care to really experience the texture of her lips and teeth and tongue before sliding brazenly into her mouth and claiming it for his own. And when he was only half-way satisfied, her left her mouth to continue on exploring the rest of her body, running his lips along the sweet golden column of her throat, pausing to suck strongly at the edge of her collar, drawing a bruise from the tender skin and laving the mark with satisfaction before continuing.
Her breasts were beautiful--not overly large like some, but just enough. Perfect for cushioning his face as he nuzzled each one, fitting snuggly into the palm of his hand so that they spilled over just a bit. Her hands slid into his hair, tangling there as she pulled him closer, held him fast to her chest in a silent entreaty, a wordless command, and he readily complied, pulling a dusty rosin nipple between his teeth. She bucked beneath him, breath hitching, and greedily he feasted on her breasts.
It was then he wondered if he could coax her to climax again so soon, and leaving one hand to manipulate her breast, the other reached between her thighs and speared her sex, two fingers strong, the knuckle of his thumb pressed to her sweet spot. She needn't any coaxing at all. Bucking against his hand eagerly, she found her climax with a heavy moan.
He was quickening already, and although he wasn't fully hard yet, need and want were pumping quickly through him. Rationality told him he should be gentle with her, but watching her as he stroked her into another little death, he knew he wouldn't. Maybe even couldn't. Who knew if they would get another chance like this?
At some point her hands had left him, choosing instead to fist in the bed sheets; her head thrown back, eyes squeezed shut as she fought for breath, chest heaving rapidly, legs spread wide in wanton invitation, feet braced.
She was fascinating and beautiful like this, and he wanted her.
He swooped back in, seizing her breast as his fingers pumped her sex, and another heady moan tore from her throat. Its echo distracted Kira, pulling his attention back to the other pair in the room.
Lacus's face was buried in Athrun's lap, his dark head thrown back and rolling against the wall, and Kira grinned, turning back to pay homage to Cagalli's breasts--he knew exactly how talented his wife's mouth was, and he wished his friend fun. Another hoarse cry had him refocusing his attention on the blonde beneath him, amazed and awed at how easily she spilled over for him--her body tense in that moment as orgasm broke over her. Gorgeous.
He drew up over her, tired of delaying, wanting to be buried deep inside her again. She fit him so perfectly; it was like coming home, entering that private domain that was designed purposefully for him. She started to protest when he took his hand back, reaching out to grab him, but he was already moving to replace his hand with himself, and she reaching instead to pull him against her, legs falling apart further to welcome the width of him as he lay down over her, taking care at the last moment not to crush her into the bed.
"Inside me," she commanded breathlessly. "I want you. Inside me."
And he was only more than willing to obey.
Athrun tried not to be noisy, but the way Lacus swallowed his length, her hot mouth closing around him, her throat swallowing and working him--he knew he couldn't control himself. he was completely at Lacus's mercy, and the grip she had on his sac said she knew it, liked it.
Across the room Cagalli's voice rose in demand, and Athrun was distracted by the knowledge that it was Kira pulling those sounds from her--but then silky hair teased over his thighs and an intrusive finger where no finger should be had his attention focused back on his own predicament.
"Lacus!" he hissed, shocked and horrified as that finger pressed unnervingly against his nether regions. "What are you--" He began to demand---only to choke on a sudden jolt of sensation that had him spilling over into Lacus's waiting mouth. Only when she was finished did she withdraw that intrusive finger and sit back. She wiped a small smear of cum from her lips and watched him ponderously.
"I'd forgotten how responsive you are," she commented after a moment.
"You shouldn't do that," he growled with renewed embarrassment.
"I was only thinking to help prepare you," she responded innocently.
"What?" he sputtered. "Prepare me for what?"
"Why, for your turn with Kira, of course."
Athrun stared at her, completely, horrifyingly bowled over. "My turn," he repeated weakly. "With Kira."
"Of course," Lacus agreed pleasantly. "The night's still young, and we've only just begun. Come; they should be finished soon," she commanded, standing and taking his hand to tug him up as well. She continued to hold his hand, leading him across the room to the rocking and groaning bed.
Cagalli was crying out, loudly clinging to Kira as their bodies slapped together forcefully, over and over again. He stood there, watching them-- the almost pained look on Cagalli's face was rapturous; the play of muscles across Kira's back, highlighted by sweat in the uneasy light of the bed room; the harsh, heavy pounding of flesh that shook the bed.... Had he ever made love to Cagalli so fiercely, Athrun wondered, but he already knew the answer.
Athrun had never forced himself so brutally onto his wife. Although he considered their lovemaking to be passionate, usually, he had never wrought this level of intensity from her. Never heard her voice crack over a scream as they moved together. Never before. He wondered if he ever could.
And then Lacus pushed him from behind, and Athrun failed for a moment, teetering on wavering balance before tumbling over onto the bed. He only just barely missed falling on top of Kira.
"Dammit, Lacus!" he barked, pushing up into a sitting position. "Why must you always be so pushy?"
"Why are you always so indecisive?" she returned. "It's simple really. Cagalli won't be any good after this, which leaves you, Kira, and myself."
"What's wrong with me?" Cagalli gasped before another, sharper gasp had her squeezing her eyes shut with the force of another moan. Then Kira's mouth was on hers again, distracting her from the conversation taking place not even a meter away.
"She'll be too tired out," Lacus answered Athrun anyway. "So you must decide--will you take Kira...or will you allow him to take you instead?"
"You're really serious about this."
"Yes."
"Why does it matter?" he sputtered. "We've already done what you've wanted. Why does it have to go any further?"
One slim shoulder lifted in a shrug. "In for a pence, in for a pound," she chirped. "Why stop when you're on a roll? You're not afraid of having sex with another man, are you?"
"What? No! It's just... not something I'd ever imagined doing or wanting to do myself."
"Ah, but look at him. Isn't he magnificent? And you two do look uncommonly handsome together. Cagalli and I were saying so earlier while you were busy kissing each other."
It was hard to think with the bed moving under him, with Cagalli's muffled moans of passions close, blending with the sounds Kira was producing as he continued to thrust in and out, in and out, over and over again, filling her. So close by... And Lacus, standing over him, grinning. And then suddenly, the bed shuddered to a stop, a muffled groan spilling from Kira as he lay slumped over Cagalli, panting. She held him to her, not even protesting under his weight.
After a minute, he stirred, twisting and rolling back to lie against the cooler sheets in the space between Athrun and Cagalli.
"Lacus, leave him be," Kira murmured, no little bit exhausted himself. "If he doesn't want to, he doesn't want to." And then he looked out from under the arm he'd thrown over his eyes. "And I don't think I have another go left to give, anyways."
"You're just saying that."
Kira groaned. "Lacus, come to bed," he tried instead, holding out a hand for her to take. "It's been a long, full day even before tonight. You must be a little tired, too. You've exhausted Athrun. Did you enjoy yourself?"
"Mildly," she answered, allowing herself to be drawn up unto the bed and settled down in between the two men.
"Only mildly?" he teased, running a hand down her side. "Did you at least get what you wanted?"
"I have you," she returned. "Why would I need anything else?"
"Why indeed," Kira murmured.
"Should we, ah," Athrun spoke up into the sudden quiet moment, "go back to our own room?"
On the other side of Kira, Cagalli moaned at the thought of having to move.
"Why? It's not like we haven't' shared a bed before," Kira answered. "You're fine where you are, Athrun. Besides, I don't' think Cagalli's willing to move just yet."
"Maybe never," the blonde muttered in sleepy response. "I don't think I could move right now."
"Then don't," Kira told her, shifting to pull her protesting and groaning body next to Lacus, between him and Athrun. "Tomorrow will be plenty soon enough."
Her mumbled purr of agreement as she snuggled closer against Kira's chest served to let her husband know that she, at least, wasn't going anywhere before sunup. Lacus shifted closer to the woman and reached behind her to grab Athrun's arm, pulling him closer still. He grumbled a protest but finally settled down, arm laying over her and a hand resting reassuringly against Cagalli's hip.
Nothing was resolved, Lacus thought sleepily as she shifted languidly between two warm bodies, but she hadn't lost Kira in this little maneuver, and that was ultimately what was important.
She hadn't lost Kira, and maybe, just possibly, she had found herself an additional lover if not two. Interesting. She would have to gauge Cagalli's mood again in the morning to determine if this was something the blonde would be willing to attempt again.
Tomorrow. Definitely tomorrow. Tonight she would just let was, be and enjoy the company of a full bed. Tomorrow and its decisions would come soon enough.
