“Run!!!”

 

Kira raced down the hall, following Mwu. Mwu was trying to go as fast as he could but he didn't want to jar the girl in his arms. Kira dodged the bullets coming from behind them. They were so close……….

 

Kira ran into the clearing where they had left the Strike and Mwu's SkyGrasper. Quickly, Kira entered the cockpit of the mobile suit.

 

“Lt. LaFlaga, get going. I'll take care of them.”

 

Mwu nodded. He had to get Lt. Ren to the ArchAngel; she was in serious need of medical attention and fast. He moved the teen so that he could pilot the machine. As he took off he looked down at her face. It was pale from the blood loss.

Mwu's voice came over the Archangel's Transmitter. Miriallia responded. Mwu spoke again: “Miriallia, tell Capt. Ramius to have a medical team there when I dock. Lt. Ren is in very bad shape.”

 

“Of Course, Lt. LaFlaga. I'll tell her right now.”

When Kira exited the docking bay, Mwu was there waiting for him. Kira paused, unsure of what to do.

 

“Lt. Ren is now in the medical bay.”

 

Kira nodded briefly and went to change out of his flight suit. When he returned, Mwu had vanished. He left the room and headed for the medical bay. When he arrived there he saw Murrue and Mwu sitting side by side. He walked up to them.

 

“Any news?”

 

Capt. Ramius shook her head. “None.”

 

Kira stared down at the ground. Mwu stood quickly and clasped a hand on his shoulder.

 

“Why don't both of you leave? I'll come tell you the news when the doctor come out.” He paused then added, “There's no point in all of us waiting here.”

 

Kira glanced up at the lieutenant briefly then replied with a small “okay”. Murrue stood after Kira left.

 

“Are you sure, Lt. LaFlaga?”

 

“Of course, Capt. Ramius.”

 

She turned on her heel and left, leaving Mwu to his thoughts.

 

* * *

 

“Lt. LaFlaga?” The doctor peered down at the sleeping man. He gently shook his shoulder, which awoke Mwu.

 

“Yes, Doctor?”

 

“I have finished with the girl. She has lost a massive amount of blood. There are two serious cuts; one on her right leg and the other on her left arm. Both are cut to the bone. Also, there were pieces of glass stuck in her side. She has a pretty bad cut on her forehead. Lt. Ren won't be able to walk or move her arm for awhile.”

 

“May I see her?”

 

“Yes, but only for a few moments. She is still unconscious but I gave her some painkillers.”

 

Mwu let this register into his mind. “Okay.”

 

The doctor bowed his head and moved aside to let Mwu go into the room.

 

When Mwu saw the girl laying on the bed he almost gasped. Lt. Ren's face was still deadly pale and she had bandage wound up around her. She looked so vulnerable…….

 

Mwu quickly exited the room and went off to tell Ramius and Kira the news…
