Looking every bit the professional performer, Lacus Clyne stood on a small platform that rose out about two feet off of the dance room floor. Her melodic voice carried her song beautifully across the room as her hands and body made the appropriate gestures and her face lit up in a smile, even though her heart was feeling quite alone and melancholic. The song soon ended, and the dancers stepped away from their partners to join among the rest of the audience in grand applause.

She smiled even more, bowing to her audience and thanking them graciously before exiting the stage, where the live orchestra then took over, enchanting those couples dancing to do so yet again. Just as gracefully, she greeted the praise and kisses of those that approached her personally, her bodyguards intervening only when they noticed their lady signaling them to do so.

It had been eleven months since the final battle that had ended the war. There were peace talks and assemblies popping up everywhere. Coordinator and Natural alike, meeting together and trying their best to come to terms and ease up on prejudices that had simmered for what seemed like eternity. The talks however were slow and stressful and seemed to take two steps back instead of forward at times. So to try and ease tensions and distract the remaining military away from the current events, several galas over the span of the year had been set up, all featuring as their natural star, Lacus Clyne, who was heading her own series of peace talks and speeches across the globe and into space.

The long hours and little sleep had taken their toll on the young Miss Clyne, but like a true lady of dignity and stubborn resolve she had weathered the storms quite well. Besides, keeping such a busy schedule left her with little time to dwell on the one person who had become most important in her life. Kira Yamato. He had remained in touch with her, and visited her from time to time whenever her schedule allowed, but there had always been a certain distance between them, one that she felt like he had wanted to close, but at the last minute would withdraw back to his own side.

Lacus sighed a little; perhaps she needed some air to clear her head. Turning to her guards she told them that she needed some privacy and would be in the gardens and then left immediately, ignoring their protests. She was not in the mood for over the top coddling.

Scurrying as quickly as her high heels allowed, Lacus opened up the double doors that led to the back patio and gardens. She slipped through, hoping she had went unnoticed, closing the glass dividers behind her and stepping carefully off of the cement floor and onto the stone pathway which would take her forward and into the English style maze. The perfect place for losing yourself, physically and mentally, she thought, as she grazed her hands along the course greens of the eight-foot high bushes. She hummed softly to herself, dancing and spinning feeling very much like the young girl that she was, that was until her heel sunk down into a soft spot of the ground, sending her tumbling.

Catching herself with her hands at the last minute, she sat herself down correctly, checking her foot and ankle, grateful when both seemed unaffected by her fall. She then examined the sheen of her plum colored dress, seeing tiny little marks of grass stain; strangely she found herself laughing.

"Lacus, are you all right?"

Her laughter stopped at the sound of the familiar voice and she found herself turning her head to catch within her view one Kira Yamato, kneeling down beside her, his hand on her back.

"I'm, um, fine, Kira, thank you." She placed her hand in his, allowing him to help her rise back up to her feet, where she then let go hastily to begin nervously brushing the remaining grass from her dress. "Silly me, I wasn't paying attention and fell, like some toddler."

"It's okay." He spoke in his usual soft one. "We all fall from time to time. It's nothing to be embarrassed about."

|
"Yes, I know, but I apologize for making you worry."

"It was no problem, Lacus, honest." He cleared his throat and turned from her somewhat as if trying to think of something else to say. "So, what are you doing down here all alone."

She found herself sighing again, turning the opposite way from him. "I was suffocating in there, I needed to get away. And you?"

"Same reason, I guess. I heard you singing, though. It was very beautiful, you're quite talented."

She giggled lightly. "You sound like my agent, but thank you."

He chuckled a little himself. "Sorry, but I do love your voice."

"Just my voice?" She froze a moment, realizing she had spoken out loud and wondering even more if he had heard her. He didn't respond, so she figured she was safe and decided to try and change the subject by slipping off her shoes. "Well, I think it's time for these to come off." Wiggling her stocking clad toes she smiled to herself, finding pleasure even in such a small freedom. Then, turning to him, she reached out and grasped his hand. "So were you coming or going?"

"Huh?" His eyes were somewhat wide, but whether it was from her question or the fact that she was holding his hand, she couldn't tell. "I was leaving, actually, but, if you want to continue on, then I will escort you, if that's all right."

"Perfect, actually." Lacus hoped the night disguised somewhat the tint of rose in her cheeks, though it was a full moon and it seemed to be shining down just on them. His fingers curled, locking themselves in between hers and the two youths stepped side by side, making their way deeper into the maze. They conversed on topics such as politics, weather, friends and family, and before they knew it, they had found themselves in the center of the maze, where there sat an elegantly stone gazebo, complete with a roof, stone pillars and benches.

Her hand still in his, she followed him inside, taking a seat right beside him on one of the smooth marbled benches. They took in the calm of the evening, even the chirping of the crickets did not seem to ruin their joined moment of reflection as they gazed into each other's eyes. Lacus was the first to speak.

"So how have you been, Kira, please be honest. You are a precious friend to me."

"I've been wondering around, somewhat, thinking about things, trying to decide exactly what it is I want to do, if there'll ever be another place for me to call home…wondering what my future will hold."

"Seems that is about all there is to think about these days, the future. Will we be able to bring about lasting peace, be truly happy, find someone to love, get married, start a family, live long enough to see that family grow…" She stopped her rambling when she felt his body tense. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to go on." This time the red in her face did not escape him and he eased his body, truly adoring the fact that even through all she had endured, some of her innocence hopes still prevailed.

"Not at all. Those are nice dreams to have, even more so if you can make them come true."

"And what are your dreams, Kira? Tell me what it is that you have thought about all of this time."

"To rid myself of the demons brought upon me by this war. To once again feel as I had before all of this began…I've done such inhumane things…this blood, on my hands never seems to wash off."

Placing a slender hand upon his shoulders, she slowly rubbed his back with comforting strokes, her voice, cooing with care and understanding. "You have not changed as much as you think, Kira. Still your heart, beats with care and love for others. It continues to have the ability to grieve for those lost whether by your hands or others, as well as forgive those who have wronged you. And even now, when it's jaded, your heart holds hope for better things to come. So, you tell me, how is it you have become any less of a human then what you once were? This war has scared all of us Kira, but it is how we tend those scars and heal them that determine if, and how, we recover and thrive."

Though still hunched over he turned his head to look up at her, amazed how this girl could always take away his fears and doubts by putting them into a perspective that he could comprehend. She was truly the only one who seemed to understand his spirit and soul and all of that which drove him, be it ugly or beautiful. It is how he had come to the conclusion that even before he had ever became involved with Fllay that it was her that he had truly desired and loved. "Not just your voice." He whispered to himself, as he straightened his posture, bringing one hand up to cup the left side of her face. He then leaned into her, his eyes slowly drawing shut, anticipating the electric feel of his lips touching hers for the first time.

Though slightly dazed, she remained fasted to her position, puckering her lips just a bit, delightfully nervous about the approaching kiss. And just as they had thought, their coming together proved to be truly an amazing experience, so amazing in fact that instead of breaking apart, the pressed themselves closer, lips parting and tongues dancing in a most sensually.

Lacus pulled away before he did, a look of uncertainty in her eyes. She knew that he had been involved with the Allster girl who had perished in the final battle, but to what extent his feelings toward her still remained, she was uncertain. She would not be the rebound, nor would she push Kira into anything he wasn't ready for.

As if reading her mind, he smiled warmly at her, his hand that was still placed on her cheek smoothing away her worry. "You are nothing, like her, you are so much more, more than I could ever wish for and it is with you that my heart and my love now, and always will lie."

She vowed the same to him, with her next breath that only spoke his name and as they touched each other, yet again, it was with the passion and emotion that only two people in love could ever feel.

"Lacus," he husked, his breath warming her ear, "I want to make love to you…will you let me?"

She closed her eyes, biting her lip in a smile as she hugged him closer to her body, her own mouth's warmth, breezing across his ear. "Yes, I will, for it is what I want, Kira. I love you."

Wearing a wide smile, he parted from her, excitement and joy, evident not only in his sapphire eyes, but his soft voice as well. "Come with me, please."

She took his hand again and rose to her feet, jotting beside him as they made their way back to mansion where the party was being held. They grinned and laughed a little, as Kira swung her around, to pull her to him for a brief kiss, only to take back off, never letting go of her hand; determined never to let go of her, ever.

Once they made it back to the main grounds, they hid beside the doors where behind them the party carried on, and in those shadows, Kira stole another kiss from Lacus. "Where is your room?"

"On the third floor. Fifth door on the left from the spiral staircase."

"Got it, now go back in and make an excuse to leave. I'll meet you upstairs in five to ten minutes."

She nodded in agreement as she watched him slink from her and around the corner of the building.

She grasped the arm of her dress and tugged until the seam split slightly from the bodice. Then she did the same with the outer skirt of the gown, finishing her disheveled appearance by rubbing her hands wildly into her long light pink tresses that had been pinned up off her neck. Taking a final deep breath and one rather large step she found herself back into the light and in the ballroom, bracing herself for the barrage of questions to come.

Lacus smiled nervously, not accustomed to lying, though what she would tell them wouldn't be far from the truth. "I took a tumble in the gardens and snagged myself on some bushes. I'm fine though, honestly. I think I'd just like to retire for the evening."

Her bodyguards stepped up to her. "But Miss Clyne, you may need medical attention."

"No, no." She insisted in a much more stern and aggressive manner then she had intended. "Please, stay, enjoy the party. I'll be fine." Turning to the guests who had formed a circle around her, she curtsied and apologized, blowing kisses as she said her good evenings, all the while making it closer and closer toward the stairs, sprinting up them in a most un lady like way, once she got there.

In her lamp lit only room, with the door left slightly ajar behind her, Lacus began to pace back and forth somewhat, though it was due more from excitement then nervousness. Nervousness that soon left her as she felt a mild breeze from the door opening and then closing, the latch clicked into place. She spun on her heel to be greeted by the sight of her would be lover.

"Kira!" Her whisper was almost a shriek as she rushed to him, planting a solid kiss right on his mouth.

She found certain sweetness in his blush, as he gently pried her away, fighting a chuckle, he being quite taken himself with her desire to truly be with him, but he wanted to do this right. He spoke to her with his words, his eyes and his heart. "I'm not going anywhere."

Lacus nodded quietly, his vow searing itself into her heart, his touch searing itself into her memory as he reached over and one by one began to pluck the many pins that still held up her hair. And, when her tresses had been freed from its coif, he gingerly fisted several of the candy colored locks, leaving the rest to tumble down her back in waves of shimmering pink.

"You're so beautiful, Lacus." He murmured in a sincere but almost dazed tone as he dipped his head and leaned his face into hers.

Leaving no more time to talk, they began to make their way towards the girl's bed, shedding their clothes and modesty, but not their desire to copulate. Kira then laid his ladylove gently down onto the bed, his feet still on the floor, though the rest of him was over her, his hands still cupping her face as he kissed her with hasty tenderness. Lacus smoothed her hands through his hair and then along his neck, outlining his body before resting them on his slim hips until they guided her to his rigid girth that instantly stood at full attention from her touch.

Choking back his cry of pleasurable surprise, the young gundam pilot fought his usual shyness, allowing her hands to linger upon him for several seconds, before regrettably sliding them away and bringing up one of his knees so that he could climb up beside her. As he did this he kissed her palms and spread out her arms, drinking in the sight that his thirsty eyes craved. Every line and every curve, from the pert fullness of her breasts to the tiny insignificant scars that marked her knees, he appreciated and adored, for all were his to treasure now, and treasure them he would.

Placing her hands at her temples, his fingers glided down the inside of her arms, halting when they reached the slender curve of her shoulders. His teeth nipped lightly at her clavicle, and when he noted no protest from her he proceeded onward, licking his way to the tops of her breasts.

Lacus found she had to force herself to breath as the heat and wetness of Kira's mouth closed over one of her nipple's, slowly and deliberately drawing it in so that his tongue could swirl around the tender nub. Her other breast proved just as sensitive as his fingers daintily kneaded the soft flesh, his well-trimmed nails, grazing delicately over its center. She bit her lip and felt herself go faint, all the while vocalizing her delight at his touch.

Wanting to bring her even more pleasure, he ghosted his hands downward, picking up each flutter of Lacus's fair skin as it shivered from his tickle, his fingertips bringing about a full flinch of her lower body as they combed through fine curls before slipping in between the folds of what had never been touched.

Kira darted his tongue down the same path that his fingers had taken, paying no mind to his woman's nails that dug into his scalp, especially so when his tongue flicked in between his fingers that had begun to stroke her slick inner core. Her hips bucked wildly against his mouth as he ate her, but he did not budge, or ease up, determined to bring her to one climax, in preparation for what he hoped would be a second one much grander.

Due to her lover's persistence and skill, Lacus came into Kira's open mouth, thrashing her head and yelling aloud, unable to fathom the intensity of the heat that was coursing through her body right at that moment. Still somewhat pleasantly stunned, she barely felt him kiss his way back up her body, until she felt his breath wisp against her ear, asking if she enjoyed what he had done.

She answered him with a simple yes, more determined then ever not to remain idol under him, and despite his weight atop her she nudged him over, straddling him once he was on his back, kissing him with all of the force that she had felt with her orgasm. Any coherent thought that Kira may have been having was quickly gone as he gave himself up to her, completely.

Lacus eased herself down his body, joining her lips, teeth and tongue along with her hands and fingers to titillate and enliven Kira's nerves and libido. If his shallow breathing and pleading moans were not evidence that her ministrations weren't working then his sudden outcry of her name when she took his girth into her mouth was more than enough to prove it. Delighted with herself for bringing about such a reaction from him, spurned her to suckle him even stronger while cupping her palms around the sac at the base of his sex, massaging the smooth spheres inside carefully between her lean fingers. She could taste the tiny drops of salt signaling the coming of his release as she slipped her mouth from him. Not out of virginal fears, but because he had requested that she do so.

"Please not like this…not for my first time with you."

She smiled up at him, touched by his honest concern and desire to make this experience everything a girl would dare to dream. And when he sat up and reached out to cup her face in his hands, she gladly crawled to him, accepting his kiss as well as the change in body positions as he eased her once again upon her back.

They continued to taste each other's mouths, faces, jaws and earlobes, quickly building back up their sexual appetites that could only be fed by the uniting of their flesh and spirits. Embracing an underside of one of Lacus's knees, Kira drew it up to her waist, allowing her to grasp his solid readiness and align its tip just outside of her untried entrance. He pressed his forehead against hers, his half closed eyes ardently locking their gazes.

"Are you sure, Lacus?"

"Yes, Kira, I'm sure, please." She swore that she could see tiny sparkles of moisture in the corners of his eyes, as he leaned in to kiss her, whispering an apology, as he braced his body, thrusting his hips forward and entering her with only one stroke, piercing through her maidenhead.

Lacus's face scrunched in mild discomfort, but she kept her silence, biting down on her lip, not realizing until she had tasted the blood, that it had been Kira's lip she had sliced with her incisors. He continued with the kiss however, and her tongue soothed over the tiny cut, taking away the sting, just as his movements inside of her, eased away her own distress and anxiety.

The brunette male reveled in the sight, sound and feel of the girl beneath him, the rosy hue of her delicate cheeks, the winded moans of her lilt voice and the motions of her body as it wriggled and bucked beneath him, keeping pace with his every deep lunge. Kira squinted his eyes shut, every muscle in his body straining to maintain the control that was slowly slipping from him.

Seeming to sense this, and desiring so much more in her own right, Lacus would not allow it. She tightened her thighs around his hips, placing one hand behind his head trapping him in a kiss to her neck, while the other hand moved to his chest. Her nails flicked against his left nipple a few times before scoring around to his back and reaching his buttocks where it groped and pinched, along with her inner walls that contracted snuggly around his pulsing sex.

With her body language and sinful words eliciting more action, Kira left fate to the wind, easing off all control. His body was now crazed and demanding against her own, pounded into her, gripping onto her more tightly, drawing her closer as he lifted his head up from her shoulder. "I love you."

Darkening skies of electric blue met stirring oceans of a lighter shade, creating such a whirlpool of feelings and wantonness that the youths knew they could no longer hold back the coming storm. With a breathless osculation, Kira and Lacus gave into the tsunami and crashed themselves upon the shores, releasing into and onto each other all of what made them body and soul. And as their beings floated slowly back up the surface of the sea, they clung to one another, the very lifelines of each other's salvation.

Keeping them face, to face and entwined in one another's embrace, the young man rolled both them onto their sides, gingerly smoothing his lips over the brow of his beloved, speaking to her in a somewhat shaky voice. "Lacus, sweetheart…?"

Her eyes remained hooded, but her smile was relaxed, as she replied to him in a tipsy sort of tone, her right hand smoothing lazily down his cheek. "Shhhh, Kira, I feel so wonderful…as if I'm complete, now."

In his face she could tell he had inwardly breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that he had made her feel as marvelous as she had him. Even his voice was at ease as if in a dreamy state. "I feel…the same, as if I've, finally…please, let me stay with you?"

A few stray tears escaped from her eyes as she hugged him too her, her heart feeling as if it would burst with pure joy. "You will always have a home with me, Kira, for as long as you wish, I will be here to love you, forever."

"Then it will be for all time, Lacus." He vowed to her, returning her adoring embrace. "Finally, I have found home."
