Warnings: This is slightly AU because I change things around to fit my story. It is after Heero self destructs. It is on the tail end of the last major battle with the nether realm and after.

Wufei was sitting on a pier watching Zecks' boyfriend swim in the lake that was by his house. Cye had called him while he was meditating to confirm plans for Treize's birthday that was coming up in less than a month. He had wanted to get together to find a present since he had not known Treize as long as Wufei had. It had been surprising that the pilots were staying close to where Cye lived; with as he explained it up to nine other guys, one girl and a cat. How that was possible he was not sure and he knew better than to ask why.

 

They had been talking about the birthday until Cye had asked if he wanted to go swimming. He declined, but said he would stay. It was obvious that Cye was more comfortable if someone was around than on his own. For Wufei it was a matter of more people to keep watch, but the other just seemed to like company. He was like Duo only not annoying.

 

That made him smile; it would be nice for this one to be his teammate rather than the braided baka as Yuy calls him. The only problem is that this one is too nice to fight, but not incapable. Wufei had seen his muscles when they had all gotten caught in the rain. He had changed into clothes that Treize had kept for Wufei incase his were not functional after one of their meetings. It was well known that he did not like to fight, not even to defend himself.

 

“You sure you don't want to come in. I could get you a pair of my swim trunks if you want?” He said as he came near the dock.

 

“That is alright. You are a remarkable swimmer. Did you ever compete or were on a team?” He was interested because he could more than be if he had wanted to.

 

“No, I just love the water, always have. In fact before I lived here I little access to water. I try to take advantage of it as often as I can. Hay, would you like to stay for dinner?” He would love to have the guys meet Wufei especially Ryou who would get along with him on the swords alone. They were both katana users and they were alike in many ways.

 

“If you are sure it will not be a problem I would not mind, you are good company.”

 

“Perfect, why don't we go in and check on how many people are here so I know how much to make?” He got out of the water and started heading for the house.

 

“Do you take turns cooking the meals since there are so many of you?”

 

“Sort of, you see there are only five of us that can be trusted in the kitchen. I am a chef, so I end up doing most of the cooking. The others do help out when I need them to though.” He said with a laugh at thinking about what happened when Sekmet tried to cook that one time. Since then the warlords have been banned from any appliance in the kitchen and half the rest of the house. They really did not mix well with technology.

 

“Can't be trusted?” He asked with one eyebrow raised as they went through the back door to the kitchen. Thinking about what happened when it was Duo's turn to cook.

 

“Four just can't cook and the other one, Kento, would eat everything and nothing would be left for the rest.”

 

“Hay, I'll have you know that…”

 

“Kento your parents have banned you from going near the kitchen.” He turned to Wufei. “His parents own a restaurant in town, and everyone that works there known not to let him in the kitchen.”

 

“I'm a growing boy, and need all the food I can get.”

 

Wufei was not sure that he agreed with that. The boy wile taller than Cye or himself looked like he could use less food and more exercise. Kento was quite large while it did not look like he was that overweight.

 

“You eat almost as much as White Blaze dose.” Cye's comeback seemed to rattle the other one.

 

“No way not on your life. No one eats as much as he dose. There're nine of us as far as I know Sage, Sage's boyfriend, Rowen, Mia, Yuli, Dais, the two of you and me.” He knew what Cye wanted, and with a guest he would not use the bond to find out how many people for lunch.

 

“You check on Ryou yet today?” It had just been yesterday that he had to use the inferno armor so he would not be up for at least two more days and it would not be until tomorrow that he would even wake up. They always tried to check up on him though.

 

“Grrr, fuzzy thing.” Was the reply, as he went back into the living room.

 

“That's what we call the cat when he's being annoying or protective of Ryou. He has bee down with a cold for a couple of days.” He explained casually to Wufei. They had to come up with something to explain why they could not always get to their leader to check on him, and why he was asleep.

 

“I'll be right back; I need to check on something. Make yourself at home.” He went up stairs to tell Sage that he would be expected to introduce his boyfriend and have him eat with them. If it was just the guys no one really cared because as far as they knew Sage went through partners faster than days of the week when he could between fighting. They had not been able to confirm this for about a year now, but he needed to warn Sage.

 

It would be nice if Sage actually would settle down then it would be possible for Ryou to get a boyfriend or girlfriend. He could get scary when their Rekka was being pursued by someone. He already threatened to castrate Anubus for some of the stuff he pulled. Cye might even feel safe enough to bring Millardo to meet them if Sage had a permanent boyfriend.

 

Ever since they started fighting he had been into other guys. When Cye asked him about he said that at first it was in retaliation to his grandfather trying to force him to marry a girl just for tradition. He then realized that he preferred boys to girls. Rowen said that there was a possibility that it could be the armors since all but Ryou were into men. As for Ryou no one knew what he was into yet. He would not be into a quick fling, his Virtue would not allow so maybe he just did not have the time yet.

 

He knocked on the door and called through their mental link. Sage, it me, we have company and he knows you have someone over.

 

“Lunch is in thirty minutes.” He called as he went back down stairs.

 

When he got back to the kitchen Wufei was standing and looking rather alarmed at something that they had begun to get used to. Dais was standing at the sink with Yuli over his shoulder standing at the sink in a crouch to allow Yuli to wash his hands.

 

“No, no good. Upstairs both of you and take a shower before lunch you're both covered in dirt and things I don't want to know about. Now get.”

“Aw Cye I'm not that bad. I want to help.”

 

“Alright, Yuli you can stay, but Dais I want you cleaned up.”

 

“Who is your guest?” Dais asked as he put Yuli down so that he was between the kid and this newcomer.

 

“A friend of mine and my boyfriend's best friend's lover. He came over so was can discuss the surprise party we're throwing Treize in three weeks.”

 

“Which one?” He accused Cye as if he had done something wrong, but he was just worried. For the first time he had a real family and he was going to protect it.

 

“Wufei's boyfriend and you will be nice. I will bring my boyfriend around when it becomes safe.” He was getting used to the former enemies being concerned for them, and Dais was the worst when Yuli was anywhere near.

 

“When will that be, the next time Sage visits the dojo?” He asked with mock concern knowing full well why Cye would be weary of bringing any to the house with the ultimate mother hen around.

 

“Not even close, there's to much of a chance he would come home early. I'm waiting until he gets in a serous relationship and has no room to get mad at me.”

“Good point.” He walked off to get cleaned up.

 

“Why won't Sage let you and Ryou date anyone? I thought he would want you to be happy.” Yuli knew that Sage was protective, but he used to let Cye go out on dates until about six months ago. He knew something happened but no one would tell him what.

 

“It's something that we need more time before we can get into it kid. Just wait some more time ok.” It may have been six months ago, but none of them could actually talk about it without reacting negatively. Not to mention they were still dealing with the after effects.

 

“Ok.” He went to set the table. “Eight people right?” He looked over at Cye for confirmation.

 

“No nine, Sage has someone over.” He hoped that Yuli would not…

 

“Ow, great another bimbo.” His hope was not to be realized.

 

“Tact, Yuli, tact, you have none.” He turned to Wufei. “I'm sorry about that. Sage dose not bring bimbos to the house, but I have never known him to go out with someone for more than two days.”

 

He had been watching everything with interest so far. The one, Dais, looked like a couple of the more shady mercenaries that he has worked with. Having only one eye and several visible scars; then to have him obviously protective not only of the young boy, but of Cye was unusual. It reminded him of how Rashid was with Quatre. Then, to have Yuli inform him that Sage did not have in fact a boyfriend, but a one-night stand was almost making him worry about the people around Cye.

 

He was good in the kitchen though because while all of this was going on he had the sloppy Joes that he was making done. Yuli had the large table in combined dining room and kitchen set for the right amount of people.

 

“Yuli go get the others for dinner. Leave Sage alone. I already told him to be down.” While Yuli was normally the nicest kid ever he became vicious when there was something that hurt Ryou, and Sage sleeping around was a bad spot. This was only because Ryou did not want Sage to get hurt, but Yuli only knew that it upset Ryou and that had to be bad. He was never nice to Sage's flings.

 

“Wufei, please don't mention my boyfriend to the others, if it gets back to Sage, he will go ballistic.”

 

“Would anyone be in danger?” Wufei could tell that something was going on and would know what or Millardo would be told.

 

“I don't know he might go after Millardo, but only because Rowen was attacked by his last boyfriend a few months ago. Sage got protective after that. He's just worried something would happen. Please?”

 

“That I can understand. Dais will not tell him or Yuli?”

 

“Dais understands the need for a life and Yuli is still upset at Sage for his double standard as far as that goes. He knows nothing of what happened.”

 

It was only a couple of minutes before everyone other then Sage and his guest sitting at the table waiting for Cye to introduce them all.

 

“Guys, this is my friend Chang Wufei. Wufei this is Rowen, Kento, Mia, Yuli and Dais. Sage and his guest should be down in a second.”

 

Right on time a pale blond came down the stairs with someone behind him. Wufei was ready for anything but what he actually saw.

 

“Quatre.” He said in outrage that this would be the fling.

 

“Wufei.” He was quite surprised to see one of the guys at his boyfriend's house.
