Gundam Wing Fan Fiction / Ronin Warriors Fan Fiction ❯ Our Version of RW with a Crossover Twist ❯ Questions and Relapses ( Chapter 13 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/N: FINALLY!!! FFNet hasn't let us update all week and MediaMiner killed our account. I can't even email myself!

Kathrine: We're updating three times today!! It's a record for us!! We've been really bad lately about updating. I never thought school would get this bad.

JC: Not to mention that we had strep throat and had to be put on medication. Our pills make us dizzy and our cough syrup will either make us think funny or put us to sleep. Joy. *~~*

Kathrine: I hope that you all like this. We really make everything bad for Seiji. You guys now get to find out about some of the stuff that happened to Seiji while he was trapped in the labs.

JC: Don't get mad at us for ending.

Kathrine: Ya know? One of our reviewers pointed out something that I actually agree with. Heero is too well adjusted.

JC: I made him like that for a reason. If he wasn't then he would be able to take care of Seiji or act like a good big brother. Finding Seiji again kinda brought out the part of him that he had let die the day Seiji was taken away. I'm glad that someone pointed that out though. I was afraid people thought I was making him like that for my own enjoyment.

Kathrine: You are.

JC: Only cause I what to see him get into a fight later with Touma.

Kathrine: SHHH!!!! Don't tell them about that!

JC: Uuhh… On with da fic!!

Disclaimer: It's the 13th chapter!! Ya have to realize it by now!

Warning: ALL THINGS THAT ARE EVIL MIGHT BE IN THIS FIC EVENTUALLY!!! Dark themes, flashbacks sort of, everything else I've mentioned before that is usual applies.

Our Version of RW with a Crossover Twist

By JC and Kathrine

Tokyo, Japan

Touma sighed as he continued to walk down the street. He had a meeting with the dean of students at the University of Tokyo to see if he could attend Saturday classes and extra night classes there during the school year. They'd been very impressed (shocked is more like it) with his test scores and exams he'd completed for them and couldn't understand why he didn't just ask for early graduation and go straight to college. The blue-haired boy knew they wouldn't understand his friendships and need to maintain said relationships with his friends.

Especially a certain blonde that seemed to have drop down from the heavens one day, he hadn't noticed the smirk on his lips. Whatever cloud he fell off of is gonna be pretty empty for a while. He looked up at the Preventers Headquarters as he journeyed towards his destination. The site for the building had been decided to be close to the university, seeing as some of their trainees were still going to college.

Maybe I can work in their research and science division one day, he thought idly. I hear they pay well and have great benefits. As he was so caught in his musing, Touma didn't notice a familiar blonde-haired figure that walked into the Preventers' building with two others.

Preventers HQ

He stared in confusion at the constant crowded motions of the people in the building he'd just walked into. He didn't know how he had allowed his brother and Duo to convince him into coming to such a place, full of people. They said that he was needed for an investigation concerning the laboratory he'd been in for two years and it would help them greatly. I don't want to talk about it, he repeated to himself now that it was too late to back out. I just want to go home and stay in my room.

" Good, you guys made it," a familiar voice seemed too cheery for its own good. Seiji pulled himself from his musing to find himself staring into the bright blue eyes of the blonde from the night before. He's like me, he was ready to put himself on guard.

" Hello Seiji," he smiled.

" Hn," the blonde acknowledged him with scrutiny.

" Is the room prepared?" Heero questioned.

" Yes," Qautre nodded. " Come on, I'll show you the way." He extended his hand in a friendly gesture to point them in the correct direction

" Who is he talking to?" Duo asked as they followed after him. " I hope someone familiar, doesn't take too well to strangers." He looked towards Seiji who remained quiet, not voicing anything.

" Seiji,' Qautre turned his attention to the other blonde. " We'll be asking you a series of questions and performing an evaluation of your empathic abilities. Do you object to any of this?"

" Objective of interrogation and evaluation?" he questioned, trying to see how much followed what he'd heard the night before.

" To find out what we can about the lunar laboratory you'd been kept at in case there are others and to satisfy my own curiosity," Qautre said the last part a little sheepishly. " To be honest, I myself haven't met many empaths and definitely not own of your caliber. But know this isn't an interrogation, we just need the information you might be able to give us." He waited to see what the boy's reaction would be and wasn't surprised to feel pressure against his shields. He knew Seiji would probably check his emotions for any deceit. He was confident that he would find nothing to be worried about.

" Accepted," Seiji agreed as soon as he was pleased with the honesty of the smaller boy's words. Inwardly, he breathed a small breath of relief knowing that the other wasn't threat.

" Here is the room," he stopped in front of a gray door with one small window that came to eye level. " Sorry to tell you this, but Heero and Duo, you have to wait out here."

" Nani?" Seiji didn't like the sound of those words. He didn't like being trapped in this building or in a room alone.

" We don't want you to have any distractions," Qautre explained. " They'll be right nearby though and you can talk to them in between the questioning and empathic evaluation."

" Nothing to worry about," Duo assured him. " You can call a stop to this whenever ya want ta, right?"

" Of course, this is voluntary only," Qautre nodded. " Now please Seiji, step into here." The boy didn't argue with them and merely entered the room as the door slid open.

" Who will be questioning him?" Heero asked Duo earlier question.

" I will," Qautre replied somewhat sadly as he walked into the room and the door shut behind him.

" Him?" Duo seemed slightly shocked.

" Do not worry," a figure walked up behind them.

" What's going on Trowa?" Duo questioned. " Why would Qautre do his questioning."

" They believed it would be best seeing as he is also an empath and it will allow him to see how his shields withhold," he explained. " Now if you want to watch the secession than follow me." With that he turned back down the hall.

Duo looked to his lover only to see that his face had drained of color and his fists were clenched at his sides. " Heero, what is it?" he asked.

" Nothing," he answered as he loosened himself and followed after Trowa.

What the hell was that about? The braided-brunette wondered as he followed after them. Trowa led them to a door and opened it gesturing for them to enter. Duo and Heero complied and found themselves in a small room with nothing more than a round table and four chairs. One wall of the room was a large plate of glass that revealed the room next door. It showed his brother standing close to the door while Qautre stood on the other side of the rectangular table in the room.

" From here you will be able to see everything that goes on during the questioning and such, but you won't be able to hear it," Trowa explained.

" Why not?" Duo gave him a suspicious look.

" That's how Une requested it, she even told Qautre specific things he's suppose to ask Seiji," Trowa sighed. " He wasn't even allowed to tell me."

" You know ya could of warned us that they were going to pull something," Duo frowned.

" Qautre won't do anything that might hurt him, he doesn't actually work for the Preventers which gives him the right to decide what questions would do more harm that good." With that he turned his attention back onto the boys in the other room to watch the proceedings.

" Please sit down Seiji," Qautre asked. " Al least then e can be somewhat comfortable while we talk."

" I see," the blonde nodded before moving slowly over to the table and sitting in the chair across from Qautre. The Arabian smiled before taking his seat as well.

" I guess this must be a little awkward," he sighed. " I know you probably don't want to do this so I won't try to make you any more uncomfortable than you already are."

Seiji just stared at him for a long moment. Why is he acting so worried about my well being? I don't know him, I am nothing to him. Why does he care?

" What do you remember from being in the base Seiji?" Qautre asked. " What were the types of experiments or machines that were built there?"

" Experiments?" the blonde repeated. " The only ones I know of were the ones they performed on me. I was either in training or in my chamber. I never even saw the entire base."

" Well what can you tell me about it?" Qautre asked.

" They gave me physical enhancements and abilities that normal humans don't have," Seiji started. " They had started with changing my skeletal and muscular structures so that I would be more agile. Doctor J had already installed the beginnings of the enhancements within me, but tended to spend more time developing my 'psychic' abilities towards my skills as a soldier. That's what Nii-chan had been trained for, I believe. The base on the moon was full of soldiers and scientists that were suppose to further my training in the areas he hadn't concentrated on and still continue my psychic development."

" Why? The war was over," Qautre questioned. Why would they continue his training when the war was over? The scientists certainly knew that, why keep going? And who is Nii-chan? Is that what he calls Heero?

" I'm not sure," Seiji admitted. " At first I believed it was because of the war, until Nii-chan informed me of its completion. They only told me I was meant to fight in a war against those who opposed their cause."

" Was anything built on the base?" Qautre asked.

" Only weapons and utensils that I and the soldiers there would be needing," the younger blonde responded.

" Like what?"

" Guns, special lasers to cut through gundanium yet you could fit in your pocket," Seiji went on. " Sunglasses that serve as motion detectors for those who weren't coded into them. I believe they were working on an AI system Doctor J had created at one time, but I was never able to see it."

" AI?" Qautre's eyes widened. " They creating living computers."

" It was something that was suppose to control a soldier and allow him to use his physical abilities to the fullest without the use of mobile suits or unconcealabe weapons," Seiji replied. " All else I know is that it was only a prototype and had something to do with the number zero."

" What?" Qautre stared at him with wide eyes. Zero? Does he mean the ZERO system? But he said that a person wouldn't need a mobile suit. Gods what could they have been making out there?!

Seiji watched the other blonde closely. He could feel the older boy's shock and concern. Something about what he'd said had scared him. He knew then that he couldn't tell the boy how he found out his information on the AI system or what else he knew about. Something could happen seeing as he is so worried about it, he told himself.

" Anything else you know about it?" Qautre inquired.

" Negative," Seiji replied with a straight, emotionless face. Qautre attempted to search his mind in case he was lying, but the other's shields were strong and well placed. He couldn't figure out anything that was behind them.

" Okay," Qautre decided that was enough. The information that the younger boy had given would be enough to get another search of the base granted and checks on any weaponry that had been illegally shipped or used. " I guess it's time for the psychic evaluation and as I told you, you can talk to Heero and Duo before continuing."

" No, I know they're watching," Seiji shook his head. " I'd prefer it if we continued this so that I may return home."

" Oh," Qautre realized that the blonde had been using his empathy the entire time. " I can assume that is part of your abilities?"

" If you wish," Seiji nodded. " It is only a smart part though."

" To be able to see what your psychinetic energy I will need you to let me into your mind," Qautre explained. " I hope that s isn't too much."

" No," Seiji assured him. " It won't cause me any discomfort."

" Good," Qautre closed his eyes and concentrated on the boy before him. He could sense his energy, strong and bright, and he knew he had found the path. Allowing his mind to follow, he concentrated on what was beyond the path. He reached his destination, but found himself blocked. In front of him was the well-built wall that he'd known was around the other blonde's mind.

He keeps himself locked away so tightly, how does he release any of the built up energy? Quatre wondered. He walked along the wall until he came to something that brought questions to his mind. It was a door. It looked like a strong and binding. He could feel that something was hidden behind that door, but from what he was permitted to see of Seiji's mind, the younger boy didn't know what it was. It has to be here for something.

" Do you know what is behind this door Seiji?" Qautre asked. " It seems very well protected."

" Iie," the other blonde shook his head in concentration and confusion. " It's been there since 195 and I am unable to open it."

" 195?" Qautre repeated. " During the war?"

" No, before I believe, J-," his words halted and his eyes opened and just the mentioning of the man's name. Qautre could feel the strain on the walls now and realized memories were the cause of it.

" What did he do?" the ex-piloted continued. " Do you know why it's there?"

" It was before he left the base for the last time," the blonde answered as he watched memories pass through his mind. " His last experiment before he left to become more than a behind the scenes participant in the war. I don't know what the experiment was about, he actually had me unconscious for once. I was in my cell when I noticed it was there, I guessed it was to repress something."

" Have you attempted to find out what it was for?" Qautre was becoming more intrigued by the second. Did J put it there? I knew he knew Seiji was an empath, did he implant it for some reason but was never able to use it? If so, what will it take to find out what it is? Is it a harm to innocent people? Is it a harm to Seiji?

" Unfortunately, no one was willing to speak of it, even under physical pressure," Seiji explained. " I was unable to reach a computer station to find any other information."

" I see," the older blonde sighed. " But is there anything else that you might be able to tell us from your time in either lab that might be of some use? Is there anything else you remember?"

Oh yes, Seiji thought bitterly. I remember everything. The way they would train me, told me that I meant for nothing, but war and causing death. The cold, the dark, it was always too dark. The hands, they were always hard and always hurt…always hurt. I hate that they made me hurt, made me do things that I didn't want to do, enjoyed hurting me. Anold, he always enjoyed making me cry, always came when I thought it couldn't hurt any worse. I don't want it to hurt anymore. I can feel him. His hands are still there, still touching me, hurting me…

" Seiji?" Qautre was becoming very concerned by the blank look in the blonde's eyes. He could feel that Seiji's walls were being assaulted from the inside and he seemed to be trapped in his mind. He was just staring at the table like it wasn't there, like anything was really there.

" Oh no, he did it again," Duo's eyes showed his worry. " We have ta get in there!"

" What are you talking about?" asked Trowa.

" Seiji has these 'phases' where he kinda blacks out and goes to somewhere in his head," Duo explained quickly while trying to get the attention of Qautre. " One of us has to get in there and wake him outta it."

" Qautre can do it," Trowa said.

" He doesn't know him, first time I did it he broke my arm!" Duo shouted. " Who knows what he'll do when he looks at Qautre as a threat!"

" Open the door," Trowa ordered his one of the guards at the door. " And hurry about it."

" Seiji? Are you all right?" Qautre asked again. " What happened? Did you remember something?" He reached out to touch the blonde and lightly placed a hand on his shoulder. Instantly, the blonde moved, falling out of the chair and onto the floor. He stared up at the Qautre with wide, fearful eyes.

" Seiji?" Qautre whispered. Something was terribly wrong. He could feel the excessive pressure against the younger boy's mental barriers, but they did not break, instead they held everything in. All emotions, memories, and thoughts were kept inside the walls, trapped in Seiji's mind.

" St-stay a-away," Seiji stuttered in a frightened, child-like voice. " L-leave me alone. Please go away." He began to back away from Qautre in a skittish manner until he reached a wall and scooted into the corner.

" Seiji I'm not going to hurt you," Qautre promised. " I'm just trying to help."

He didn't understand. Anold loved hurting him, lived off of it. Why would he use such an obvious lie? " No, no help, you don't want to help me," Seiji pulled his knees to his chest. " Please don't hurt me anymore. I'll do better tomorrow, I swear I will." He lowered his head and unconsciously reached out and wrapped his hand around the end of his long braid. Why hadn't Anold hurt him yet? What was he waiting for?

" Open that damn door!" Heero growled as they waiting outside the interrogation room. The way his brother had forced himself into the corner of the room before had scared him completely. Something had happened? While they couldn't hear what was said in the room, he could tell the effect it had on his brother.

" Duo, go get Sally!" he ordered.

" Got it!" the other boy nodded and hurried off towards the medical ward where he knew he'd find the woman in question.

" Trowa open the door! I have to get in there!"

" The only way in was on the inside!" Trowa frowned. " It's gonna be a lot harder to find which code can unlock it this way." He could tell the other boy was not taking the situation well. He was sincerely worried about his younger brother and his patience was wearing thin quickly. He heard a click and smiled as the door opened to allow them into the room. Heero pushed past him immediately to get to his brother.

I want to go back to my room, he whimpered to himself. I want Nii-chan back. I want Anold to go away. I don't want him to hurt me again, I don't like it. I don't want to do it anymore…

" Seiji?" Anold called his name in a voice that he didn't recognize. Just trying to confuse me, he hadn't even looked up since backing himself into the corner, but he knew it was Anold. Anold was always taking care of his supervision. Anold was always there touching him, making him feel dirty, making him do things he didn't want to do.

" Go away, go away, please I'll work harder next time," he mumbled while he tried to hold back his tears. He didn't want Anold to touch him again. He knew he had to work harder, do better. Maybe then Anold would only touch him when Doctor J told him to. Then Anold wouldn't come to his room anymore.

Qautre was horrified at the actions of the trembling form only a few feet away from him. He wanted to touch the boy, to force open his walls and take away some of the pain he was feeling but he knew that Seiji was too unstable for him to do anything. What happened to him to become like this? Gods, what tortures was he forced to go through for all those years?

That's when the door to the room opened and Heero rushed in, " What the hell happened?!" he asked as his eyes found his terrified brother huddled on the floor.

" I don't know, I asked him if he could remember anything else from his time in the lab and he just seemed to black out," Quatre's eyes pleaded with Heero to help him, to do something. Heero understood the request and turned his attention to his brother.

The door opened and someone came in, He could hear the added footsteps and the shouting. He'd done something else wrong. He'd made them mad again. " I' sorry," he mumbled into his knees, but no one could hear him.

Suddenly, he felt strong arms wrap around him and he tried to move, to break free. " Stop, don't touch me, I'll do better! Please just let me go!"

" It's all right Sage, calm down," a voice soothed him patiently. The voice sounded so strong and yet so gentle and caring. Nii-chan?

" It's okay Sage, I'm not going to hurt you, I'd never hurt you," the voice with the strong arms continued.

" Nii-chan," he whispered. He felt so scared and yet knowing that his brother was there, would protect him, made him feel safe.

" Yes Sage, it's me, Nii-chan isn't going to hurt you," the arms pulled him closer to a strong chest and rocked him back and forth. " It's okay now, everything is okay now."

Heero continued to hold his brother close and give him the same comfort that he'd given him as a child, the same warmth that the blonde had craved when they were all alone in the dark.

" It's c-cold, he turned o-off the heat a-again," Seiji mumbled through small shivers and half-choked sobs. " Is he gone Nii-chan? Did he leave?"

" Yes he's gone," Heero's eyes were cold at the repeated words from the night before. …always makes it so cold… turns off the heat on purpose. " He's gone for good," he stated with assurance. He didn't care who else was in the room or who would find out, all he wanted was to take care of his brother. He could tell the younger boy was still shivering in fear and confusion and began to hum as he had when they were children to calm him down.

Qautre and Trowa watched the spectacle with awe. Neither realized how much Heero loved his brother until just then. They could see the caring child he had probably been before the wars, before Doctor J had tried to take away all the emotions he had. Trowa gave a glare to the people waiting at the door and they took the hint to close the door and leave.

" He's asleep," they heard Heero whisper.

" Good," Qautre sighed. " His walls are too strong, he keeps everything in. If he doesn't release the memories and the emotions that he has there, this will only happen again."

" I can't force him," the brunette shook his head. " The only reason he agreed to this was because Duo and I asked him to. I knew this would be hard for him." He absently stroked the slumbering teen's locks while he gazed down at him. Why didn't I say 'no'? Why did I allow it to go this far? I knew he wasn't ready to talk about it.

" This isn't your fault Heero," Qautre tried to counter his friend's guilt. " We just have to find a way to open his shields so that he can release some of the pain he feels. I was told that it is unhealthy for people like us to lock away our emotions. We can feel others' emotions and are own stronger than that of normal people, to keep them locked away it hazardous, physically, mentally, and emotionally."

" I know," Heero nodded. " It's one of his problems, even as a child he couldn't let out what he felt and it made him sick, he couldn't even get out of bed. I thought he had learned to let go, but he hasn't, he's still sick." The door opened once more and Heero looked to see Duo rushing into the room with a woman on his heels.

" Sally's in surgery, had to call in Dr. Aria Baker," Duo stated while catching his breath. " Only other doctor that doesn't where a coat all the time and knows about his condition. She works with Sally a lot and takes over for her when she can't do things."

Aria's eyes fell on Heero and Seiji on the floor and she demanded, " What happened?"

" He relapsed back into a memory, something that happened to him when he was younger," Qautre explained. " His walls are too well constructed, he couldn't release any of the pain he was feeling so he was trapped in his memories."

" Did you sedate him?" she asked.

" No, Heero calmed him down," Trowa answered. " He must have been too exhausted mentally to remain awake."

" Of course after yesterday," Duo frowned. " I knew he should have been in bed. He could have easily caught pneumonia after being in the rain so long!"

" We didn't realize that this could happen," Heero replied in an attempt to soothe his lover.

" Well take him to an examination room," Dr. Baker told him. " It would be best if he was watched over to see if he has any side effects to his relapse. Someone should have done something about this sooner."

Heero gazed down at his brother once more and knew that the doctor was right. I should have prepared for this, I should have gotten him help. He might not have agreed with it but he does need to talk to someone about this and neither Duo nor I are the best person for the position.

" After he's rested we'll be able to help him with this," Anita assured them.

" Good," Duo sighed before watching as Heero carried Seiji from the room. I just hope that help doesn't make it worse than it already is.

A/N: I hope that wasn't too much of a cliffhanger for ya. We're already working on the next chapter. We have other stories that we have to catch up on though.

Kathrine: How was it? What do ya think? And we hope you enjoy. Now, we have a special gift for yall too.

JC: Yeah, Kathrine wrote a song that I won't allow her to write a fic to go with.

Kathrine: (Grumbles angrily)

JC: It would end up being a really sad fic that I know she would turn into something psychotic. So we decided to send it to you.

Kathrine: The catch is that it will be sent to you with the Epilogue of RTP. Ya have to read that to see it. All other info with it will be given there.

JC: Thanks!! Now please review!!
