A smile etched itself on my face. The dance was coming up. I had forgotten all about it! "Heard about the dance?" Jinx asks me, "Yeah." I reply. As we walk, we stupidly walk by Arnica, the queen of b- Opps. Nevermind. Then, I hear something that surprisingly hurts me.

"I plan on taking Duo Maxwell."

I personally was thinking of taking Duo. Yeah, a girl taking a guy is kinda weird, but hey! Who cares? I really was thinking about it, but…. Oh, well. "(Tsk tsk) Usagi." "What?" I ask, snapping back from my world. "You really were thinking of taking Duo, right? But, Arnica has foiled it all?" "I wish you'd stop, J." I reply, squeezing my books a little tighter than I would. "What? I was just speaking my mind." "Then don't."

"~Gomen~! Excuse my rudeness." She replied sarcastically. " Before you get any ideas, Duo is just a friend. Alright? Good. Ja!" I say, opening the gate. Jinx grins behind me, "Ja ne to you too!"

I sigh as I close the door behind me, then I see Chibi. And Mama. "What I do?" I ask. "You forgot to get Chibi-Usa." "You BLOCKHEAD!" "Serenity." "Gomen, Mama." Chibi replies to Mama, sitting back down. "Oh, Gomen. I was thinking about the dance and I guess I forgot. Gomen, Mama. Chibi." "Hmph." Chibi turns her back to me, "I could have been kidnapped." Mama smiles, "But, you weren't."

I walk up the stairs to my room and flop on my bed, sighing sadly. Something provokes me to make a call. To the other side of our over-sized house.

"Daddy?" I'm very astonished by how meek my voice sounds when I hear the answering machine. I shake my head and unnoticed tears spring from my face to my bedspread. "Why?" I ask silently.

*Why are we so spread out and non-close, unlike like regular families?*

"That's a good question, Usagi." I turn to my mom who's standing in my doorway, smiling at me. "I didn't know I was talking." "Well, that's okay. I do that all the time!" Mama replies, chuckling at herself. "So, what about this poem you have to do?" "I just started on it. I think I might get sick by how ~innocent~ it sounds." "Everything has its innocence. Even your father." I laugh at my mom. She's so silly.

__Later__

"Shut up, Jinx!" I retort. "What?" she asks from the other end of the phone. "What you said! That is so not-"

(mini beep!)

"Look, I'll call you later. It's Mamoru."

"Well, geez. Kick me off." (click) (beep)

"Hey, Mamo-chan!" I greet him, though he sounds so drained of energy, like he's been exercising too much. A date? Mamoru just set up a date? Usually ~I~ have to do that! "I'd LOVE to!" Suddenly, there's that beep again.

(mini beep!)

"Hang on Mamo, okay?" (beep) "'Elo?"

"USAGI TSUKINO! Get on this computer now!"

"Twix? What are you doing on Jinx's phone?"

"Call it a sister's ability. Now, MOVE!"

"Why?" "Just get!"

"But, Mamoru's on the other-" "Cut him off."

"I can't do that!" "Oh, no. Not you. I already did."

"TWIX!" "Oh, alright. Anyway, did you hear about Arnica?" "What about her?"

"She's taking Duo." I cringe, must everyone say that?! "What do you mean?"

I flinch, "Did I say something?" "Yeah, you said "Must everyone say that?!"

There's a pause and Twix begins to snicker and says, "Ohhh…… I see." "What do you see?" I ask.

"You're crushing over DUO!" "I so am not."

(scoff) "Usagi. My dear friend. Stop lying. I know it. Jinx knows it. You know it. Who are you kidding?"

"I'm-a getting on the computer now." (laugh) "Thought so."

Opening my Instant Message, my `Others' file is flashing. Who would be in my….. "Twix?" Damn that girl! She hung up on me!

Suddenly, my breath catches….. HOW'D HE GET MY- Jinx. That evil witch!

U-::Uh, Duo?::

D-::Usagi! I've been trying to get touch with you. If you're wondering Jinx gave me your pen-name.::

I don't believe this! Jinx! You-You WITCH!

U-::So, uh, why were you trackin' me down?::

D- ::I wanted to ask you for a favor., would you go to the V-Day dance with me?:: (pause) ::To get Arnica off my back.::

U-::What?!:: (faint)
