They had all met the net day at Quatre's to go skiing.

Lita: What's with the hat?

Duo: It's not JUST a hat. This is my special lucky ski hat. See? It's extra long to fit my braid. *points to rainbow hat with white pom-pom at the end*

Serena: But your hair insn't that long.

Duo: That's because so when my hair gets longer, I don't hafta buy a new hat.

Serena: Cheapo.

Duo: Not cheap. Just usin' muh noggin!

Ami: And how do you expect that thing not to fall off your head?

Duo: I super-glued it to my skull.

Ami: Come again? *sweatdrop*

Duo: Aww, dun worry it's only a twelve hour thing.

Wufei: That thing is a hazzard. Someone could just step on it, and you'd fall in mid walk or it could snag on a tree while you're skiing.

Duo: Thanks for the tip but I don't think a tree is gonna step on my hat.

Wufei: I don't know why I even bother. *sweatdrop*

Heero: Don't tell me Rei still isn't coming out of her room.

Lita: Guess not.

Heero: You go ahead and hit the slopes, I'll go get her. *goes up stairs*

Mina: Come on out! The slopes won't be the same without the best skier!

Heero: What's going on?

Quatre: She's locked herself in her room and refuses to come out.

Heero: Leave her to me, you two go on ahead. The others are heading out.

Quatre: Good luck.

Mina: Hey Rei! Heero's here and if you don't come out he'l kill ya! *leaves with Quatre*

Heero takes out his universal key and unlocked the door. Rei stood by a huge window looking out with empty eyes as she scratched Phobos's head. Deimos flew to Heero and Phobos followed.

Rei: How strange.

Heero: They know why I'm here.

Rei: As do I. I'm not going anywhere.

Heero: Are you afraid?

Rei: I wouldn't really call it fear. But that does seem like the only word to describe it.

Heero: This isn't like you.

Rei: Nothing's like me anymore.

Heero: You'll have a better time if you're out there with us. I have a feeling Duo will get stuck in a tree.

Rei: What do you mean?

Heero: A-ha, you'll have to find that out on your own. Come on, things aren't the same without you.

Rei: I just..can't do it! No! Just go away!

Heero: I've had enough of this.

He goes to the window and opens it, letting in the crisp cold air. Rei shivered and clutched her red sweater for warmth. Phobos and Deimos flew out the window.

Heero: Even they want you to go outside.

Rei: It's...it's too cold.

Heero: One way, or another, you're going outside.

He scooped her up in his arms, cradling her, as he stepped up onto the window-sill. Rei screamed with fear at the tremendous height away from the ground they were.

Rei: Put me down!

Heero: Don't worry, I will. *steps closer to the edge*

Rei: Surely you don't intend to drop me!

Heero: If it gets you outside, I don't see why not. The method is no concern of mine.

Rei: Well it IS mine! You cannot mean what you say!

She looked up at him in those cold and emotionless cobalt eyes of his. That look terrified he greatly, and she clutched on to him for dear life.

Rei: You're...serious!

Without a word he jumped off the window and the air rang with Rei's frightened scream. She clutched Heero tighter, burrying her head against his jacket, eyes tightly shut. However, it ended all quite quickly. She opened her eyes slowly and found herself in her room. Heero had jumped backwards. It was all a trick just to scare her, and it worked pretty damn good. She sa up straight in his arms, defiantly.

Heero: Next time I will show no compassion.

Rei: I wasn't aware you were able to show such emotions like compassion.

Heero: Neither was I.

His eyes that were so cold seemed to soften just a bit. However it lasted only a moment. It suprised Rei deeply and made her more afraid. Was this the calm before the storm?

Rei: You can put me down now.

Heero: You can let go of me.

Rei: I'm only hanging on to you because I'm afraid you'll throw me out the window.

Heero: If I wanted to dispose of someone, I wouldn't throw them out the window. Too easy! I prefer a more slow and painful tactic.

As he spoke these menacing words, he mde sure to lean down and whisper the in her ear. Her eyes grew wide with fea as her skin prickled at his close precense. He loked at her with a snicker and that gave Rei the strength to collect her bearings.

Rei: Well that makes two of us. I prefer the torment of hell fire. It'll be my pleasure to take you there.

Heero: It's good to hear your sense of humor. *frowns and drops her on the floor* I'll expect you on the slopes in ten minutes. If you're not there, you'll have the pleasure of having my pressence here once more. *leaves*

Re sat there for a while in a daze. The situation of being in a room alone with Heero was the scariest thing in the world, and she wasn't gonna stick around to have it happen again! Quickly grabbing her coat, goggles, and skis, then tying her hair in a pony-tail, she went out and met the others on the slopes.

Rei: Hey you guys.

Duo: See? I told you she'd show up! Now that I beat your ass, hand ova da cash!

Trowa: ...dammit...

It didn't help at all that Trowa had bet against her. She clenched her ski poles and got ready to leave. But Heero stood towards the back unnoticed 'till then and waved a finger telling her not to go anywhere.

Serena: Let's hit the Bunny Slopes!

Duo: No way, let's hit the Expert!

Serena: Bunny Slopes!

Duo: Expert!

Serena: BUNNY SLOPES!

Duo: EXPERT!

Ami: Why not the intermediate?

Duo: No way! That's too easy!

Serena: Are you outta your mind? That's too hard!

Duo: Gurl, the Bunny Slopes are even too hard for ya.

Serena: SHUT UP!!

It was then decided that three groups would be made, each going where they wanted. Serena and Mina went to the Bunny Slopes; Rei, Duo, Wufei, and Heero went to the Expert; and Trowa, Catherine, Quatre, Lita and Ami went to Intermediate.

Rei: *gruffly* Are you following me or something?

Heero: I'm just making sure you don't run off again. You're going to have fun whether you like it or not.

Rei: Like you even know the meaning of the word 'fun'.

Heero: Well at least I'm getting out your sense of sarcasm.

Rei: Well congradulations of you think that's some kind of accomplishment.

Heero: It's better than nothing.
