Pairings: Wachey/Wufei, Freya/Yusuke, Abigail/Duo, Nenagh/Jin, Angel/Ryoko, Matthew/Relena, Shane/Kagome, Umbra/Vegeta, Kayori/Heero, Sahar/Quatre, Nikki/Trowa, Kita/Sesshoumaru, Vanny/Trunks, Akira/Yukina, Candis/Hiei, Ember/Kurama, Crystal/OC, Miroku/Sango, and Inu Yasha/Kikyo.

Warnings: Big crossover, a lot of self-insertions, and switching POV's, points anyway. At last I get to an official contest. Wonder whose going to win, huh?

 

 

 

The Year Long Contest, Months 1 and 2, Chapter 9: Seek and Find

 

"Ms. Hikari," the Chinese boy yelled, carrying Wachey who was still in somewhat shock. Surprised, the official nurse instructed him to place her on the hospital bed. Doing so, he found a few others had followed him, very concerned.

"Please, all of you leave, I need quiet here," Crystal stated, shooing those at the door away. Closing it, she then went to see the wound on the girl's side. It appeared to be a strange bite mark.

"Do you remember what exactly bit you," she asked, preparing her hands to heal the wound.

"Yes, but I don't think you'd believe me," the hazel-eyed girl replied.

"Try me," the blue-eyed girl said, placing her palms right above the injury.

Blushing, Wachey said softly, "A raptor..."

"A bird did this to you?" Staring at the woman with doubt in her eyes, the Hispanic girl replied, "No, the type of raptor I'm referring to is a dinosaur."

The other two in the room looked at her very skeptically, and she just sweat dropped, knowing they didn't believe her. A few moments later, and her wound was gone, leaving only a red mark where it once was.

"I'm surprised you didn't lose more blood," Crystal commented, wiping a few sweat glands off of her forehead. It was then she noticed something. A small part of the girl's bikni bottom looked singed. /How could that be? My powers do not burn. Perhaps she...oh no, / the silver-haired girl thought.

"Wufei, stand up, let me see your torso," she ordered immediately. Confused, but doing as told, the raven-haired boy felt a slight pain getting up from the chair he had been sitting on. Upon inspection, they found a small spot on his torso had been singed into. Now seeing it, the Chinese boy couldn't help but finally feel the burning pain.

"Just what I thought. Do you realize what you could've done," Crystal stated, slightly angry at the Hispanic girl, and began to heal the boy of his wound.

"What are you talking about? I didn't do that to him," Wachey retorted, wondering why the nurse was angry with her. /You've got to be kidding me?? She doesn't realize her blood is dangerous, / the blue-eyed girl thought, even more furious.

"Listen, you have venomous blood. What type I'm not sure, but if he had held you for any longer, I'm pretty sure you would've caused a serious injury," she explained, restraining her anger, and finished healing the Chinese boy. To say the least, Wachey was stunned. About to speak again, Crystal had to stop, as someone persistantly kept knocking on her door.

"What is it?" She stopped glaring when she saw Duo holding a very broken up Heero, and Trowa carrying a bruised up Kayori.

"Should I ask what happened, or is it safe to assume he fell off a cliff," she stated sarcastically.

 

"Excuse me, may I come in," her assisstant, Dante(1), asked knocking gently at her door. Allowing him in, she continued to contemplate.

"Don't you think you were a little harsh to that girl? She obviously doesn't know about her abilities," he then explained.

"I know, but I just find it hard to believe that her guardian didn't tell her of what she was capable of. It's like they just threw her into this contest without any consideration of whether or not she can get hurt or killed," Crystal replied. Nodding in understanding, her assisstant suggested, "Why not have Washu from the Tenchi team run some tests on her, and see what all she can do."

Thinking this over, the nurse nodded, and said, "I'll go ask the other staff members if this is all right with them."

 

The next day a few rumors had been spread as to what had happened. Not knowing the original situation, most assumed Wachey and Wufei had faught, violently. This conclusion came about due to the bandages both had on their torsos. Of course the other staff members had to come about and ask if that was really the case, because if it was, they'd be suspended for fighting outside of the contest. Since it wasn't though, they were left alone.

It wasn't until lunch time that the Chinese boy's friends asked about the truth with Quatre saying, "Wufei, did you two really fight one another?"

"No. I was just walking along the beach when I heard her yelp, and then roll away in surprise. I then noticed the wound on her torso," he answered for the fifth time that day.

"But what about the wound on your stomach? How'd you get that," Duo then inquiried.

"Well, lets just say we both found out her blood was acidic," the raven-haired boy replied, and decided to stop the conversation there. Looking about for a brief moment, he realized she wasn't around the cafeteria. Seeing the confused/concerned look in his eyes, the braded boy stated more than asked, "Worried?"

"No, just curious as to where she is," was his response.

"Dude, just admit you like her, or at least think she's cute," the American replied.

"I hardly know her," Wufei barked out.

"Oh come on, you don't need to know a girl to think she's hot," the braded boy persisted. Then again, he thought all the girls here were hot, especially...

"Well, unlike you I go for girls for their personality, and not just their body," the Chinese boy responded, his voice getting dangerously low.

"Calm down Wufei, please, she's okay, and Duo stop teasing. Now I heard Ms. Hikari had to test something on her, and they have someone from the Tenchi team helping them do so," Quatre explained, ending what could turn out to be a fight.

 

As they continued their discourse, Nenagh was walking off with a tray of food, and headed towards the nurses office. She had been asked by Wachey to bring lunch to her, because she knew she'd miss it.

Knocking gently at the door, she waited for Crystal to open it before entering. The scene she was open to was quite disturbing, and she felt like fainting. Luckily, she only had to drop off the food, and once it was done, she quickly left.

"Say lass, are you all right, you look pale," Jin asked, suddenly appearing in front of her.

"Oh! I'm fine! I was just a little...disturbed...by what I just saw," she admitted, blushing for just a brief moment. Nodding in understanding, the wind demon left it at that, and walked off. Leaving behind a disappointed girl. /You'd think he'd ask what I saw. What was he doing here anyway? /

 

A bit after lunch, each team was sent to their hut, and were briefed on the rules and regulations of today's contest. Everyone was to participate in at least one part of this game, and the penalty for cheating were the removal of points.

"You must decide now, on which of you will compete in which contest. I will leave you to decide, just keep in mind that you only have five minutes, then we must leave to start today's game," Kikyo said coldly, and she left the hut.

"That girl needs to get laid...wait...can she even...?" Staring at their leader strangely, one of the other girls replied, "I don't want to know."

Forgetting her thought, Wachey went upto the board, and wrote down each of the contests' name. She then placed her own next to 'Seek and Find.' Turning to her teammates, she then asked, "Whose good at diving?"

Only two raised their hands, though Freya lifted hers up in uncertainty. That was how they chose who did what. Before long, three of them were in the girl's bathroom, and dressing into their bathing suits.

 

For those who were not going to participate in the day's activities, there were picnic tables on a large deck for them to sit in. This deck overlooked the open sea, which was the location of the contest. There was a limited amount of area though, with fish nets going around as a borderline.

"Each of you have been given a boat, along with diving gear, because you are to find parts to a statue. There are seven statues, and all have five parts. You will be able to tell which part belongs to your statue by the number that is on it. The first to get their's put together, and bring it here, wins," Sesshoumaru explained in his monotone voice.

"Let the games begin," Kita then yelled excitedly, and fired a pistol into the air. With that, each competitor ran to their boat, and left the shore towards the open ocean.

 

Those in this game were: Relena, Hilde, Sally, Botan, Koenma, Kiyone, Mihoshi, Sasami, Bulma, Krillin, Trunks, Inu Yasha, Kagome, Serena, Rini, Mina, Wachey, Abi, and Kayori.

 

"Hey guys, I got an idea that may get us ahead," the Hispanic girl stated, once they were pretty far from the beach. Nodding for her continue, she then said, "Since we have diving gear, why don't we each look for a part? That way we find three instead of just one at a time."

"Yeah, but what if we lose track of the boat," Abi pointed out.

"Ah, well, we could have one of us stay here, anker the boat, or tie a rope to each of our waists to make sure we don't lose it," she then replied. Looking to Kayori, they shook their heads at leaving her by herself on the boat, and decided to at least try the last two.

 

Meanwhile, to those on the dock, they were being fed and discussing random topics. Though each table seemed to have it's own agenda. Matt and Shane kept quiet at their table, the two girls they liked being participants in the contest. The other girls on their team were busy chatting away about what to wear for the upcoming party at the end of the month, well, except Umbra.

Speaking of which, she was being watched, again, by Vegeta. She set his nerves on edge, and he didn't know why.

"Dad, don't you think it's odd," Gohan suddenly said.

"What's odd," Goku responded, confused.

"You know, that Yamcha wasn't invited, but Bulma. She has no fighting skills, but she was invited to participate, and not him," his eldest son continued. It was strange, and even the Prince had no answer. Then again, there were a lot of things about this contest Vegeta didn't know the answers to. Such as why that girl interested him so much.

"Well, maybe she can do something he can't." With that, the subject was dropped, and Goku continued to eat at his leisure.

 

"Man, can you believe that guy? He eats a shit load," Duo said quietly to his friends, not wanting others to hear. Laughing softly, Quatre stated, "I remember you ate like that once. Too bad I didn't take a picture of it."

"Hey, I'm not that bad. I mean, I would've been full by the third serving." Shaking their heads, they continued to eat calmly, until some arguing at another table caught Wufei's attention. He pitied Tenchi, though he was thankful he didn't have two girls like Ryoko and Aeka fighting over him. Then he noticed Washu, who was trying to eat in peace.

"Miss. Washu, would you mind following me," Crystal asked politely.

"Sure, anything to get away from these two," she then replied, and got up to follow the nurse. Within her office, the silver-haired woman asked for all the research data the scientist had collected that day.

"Ah, is that all you wanted? Give me a minute," Washu stated, and proceeded to check her lab-top. Unknown to them, they had been followed.

 

Surfacing from the water, Krillin handed over his third item, and panted, "Can I come aboard now?"

"Not until you find all items! Now go," Bulma barked out, and watched as he went under again. Both him and her son were busy looking for the parts, all the while, she was connecting them. She had found the dragonballs so many times before, so this would be a snap for her.

Not far behind, team seven had also found three parts, and left Abi to stay aboard as the other two continued their search.

"So, you say she only has a few weaknesses," Crystal inquiried.

"Yep, only certain conditions can kill her," Washu then replied. Explaining them, the person outside of the room couldn't quite believe what they were hearing. Though with how strange everyone else was, they understood the possibilities. Before they concluded their conversation, the eavesdropper left back to their friends.

 

"Hey Wufei! Where were you," Duo asked, seeing the Chinese boy return.

"Bathroom," he replied, and sat back in his chair. He then looked towards the sea, and tried to make out boat seven's location.

 

Yawning, Yusuke stated, "You know, there really is no point in us being here."

"Are you saying you're bored," Kurama replied, having finished his meal. Suddenly Hiei appeared in his chair again. He had a hint of a smirk on his face, like he knew something they didn't. Curious, the fox demon asked, "Where were you?"

"No where," the shorter of the two responded. Obviously not wanting to reveal where he had went off to.

 

"We have a winner," Kita yelled excitedly, and all turned to see Bulma proudly holding a statue. Then Kayori appeared holding onto her team's statue. They had arrived shortly after team four. It wasn't much longer when Relena came to shore, then team two. The last to come was Inu Yasha and Kagome, though boat number 6 didn't come back with a complete statue.

Each team were given their points, and were then given time to clean up. Dinner that night was a large steak, with mash potatoes, or grilled chicken with corn.

 

Within the lunch line, Sahar asked, "Did you guys have fun?"

Nodding, Kayori answered, "Yeah, though Wachey almost ran out of oxygen while down there."

"Don't worry, I got back upto the surface before it did," the Hispanic girl explained.

"You shouldn't be so careless about it," someone suddenly stated. Recognizing the voice, the hazel-eyed girl didn't have to turn to know it was Wufei.

"Hey, what bug died up your ass," Freya then responded, not liking his tone. Shaking his head, the Asian boy left to eat with his friends. /Was he really being harsh, or was that concern? If it's concern...that means he likes me! Yay! / With this in her mind, Wachey walked away, and ate her food happily.

Okay, I've missed writing for you guys! I'm so glad to have internet back! Now excuse me, I must upload, and write more chapters for you all to read!

 

Hm...I wonder who was listening in to Washu and Crystal's conversation? Was it Wufei, or Hiei?

 

(1) I finally came up with a name for him! Dante. Don't have a last name for him though.

 

I had completely forgotten about Heero and Kayori's accident! I mean, he breaks a couple of bones, and then is walking around the next day like nothing??? Of course the nurse is amazing and has powers, but I thought it'd be nice to mention that he did go see her.
