Chapter 10: REI

Quatre was about clueless about who was Koenma but hearing how
the others, especially Heero, trusted him he decided to follow
them. He had seen the blueprints of Sandrock and was surprised
that this Genkai knew his powers. Amazingly, it suited his own
capabilities.
Now, they had to retrieve their respective gundams. That
cave...It has a very strange aura, something that he could not
place. He placed his attention back to the screen.
"Hiei, Kuwabara. I know what happened to the Koorime Isle. I'm
sorry about Yukina." Koenma said. Then he faced Trowa. "I've
got a feeling that you might have found your other child. I was
wondering where you want to put her when you are... away. If you
want, I could send Botan over to take your child to safety, if
that is what you want." Trowa looked at him seriously before he
nodded. "Right. When you arrive at the cave, Botan would be
there. Well take care of her."
"Thank you"

It had been a long day. They had walked from the tavern through
the forest. Rei had been quiet throughout the journey, never
once complaining. Under that hot sun of the Makai, after several
attempts from hungry youkais and dense jungle, Rei had proven
herself to be a good survivor. They had stopped for a break.
"That's some child you've got, Trowa." Praised Wufei.
"What's this? Wufei actually saying that that mere girl isn't a
weakling?" Duo teased. Wufei, of course, ignored him. "But I
must say, she is an efficient fighter. Obviously, Yukina had
taken pains to train her." Duo said thinking of the events that
had happened just now.

They had attacked in large groups of ten. Their fangs gleaming
with saliva, their talons outstretched. Their minds only on one
thing, to kill them and later devour them.
Trowa was ready with his dimension sword. Wufei and Duo armed
with katanas and Heero was ready to release his reigan. Quatre
guarded his sister, in his hand was his gun.
They stood their ground as the youkai descended onto them.
Suddenly the ground underneath them shook violently. Both Trowa
and Heero lost their balance. Wufei and Duo jumped up and attacked.
Slashing them with their swords, blood poured onto the ground.
Heero charged up his Ki. "Reigan!" The bolt of ki shot from his
finger struck out several of the surviving youkais.
The ground shook until it opened up. It revealed another group
of youkais, similar to those earlier. This time they were armed
with long swords. Trowa fought them his face a cool facade. Slashing,
thrusting at them; trying to kill as many as he could. Quatre
defended his ground. His ki taking shape of scimitars, similar
to Sandrock's. Using them, he quickly took out many of the youkais.
While they were busy, some of the strays had gone towards the
koorime. Rei's facial features hardened as her ki powered up.
The temperature around her dropped several degrees below zero,
effectively freezing the youkais that was near. In her hand,
several ice crystals appeared. Using her ki, she directed them
towards the other youkais. The crystals froze the youkais,
killing them. The air borne youkais shattered upon landing on the
ground. Strange though, the five gundam pilots were not affected
by the freezing temperatures.
Soon, all of the youkais were killed. The remaining had retreated,
scared of the koorime. The pilots were surprised and relieved
at her show of power then. They knew that she could protect herself.

"Yeah, who would've thought that Yukina would actually teach
her child to kill." Heero said, his mind more Yuusuke than Heero.
"Mother was forced to teach me. She didn't want to, but the
elders persuaded her to. They said that because we both are
hybrids, we should be the first ones to sacrifice our lives for
them." Rei said, her voice almost inaudible. Other than Duo,
the rest were shocked at this news. They knew how harsh the
koorimes were against outsiders but they were harsher to their
own kind.
"After Tousan died, Kaasan said that she would go back. She
hated to fight especially after what Uncle Yuusuke and the others
went through. But then, she said that I should fight for the
right to live peacefully. After that she sent me to this time,"
Quatre said.
"Hn."

A/N: Selamat Hari Raya and Merry Christmas Everyone. This was
all that I could do. Because it is Hari Raya, it's time to
celebrate! You know what is going to happen. Anyway, I'f I don't
