Chapter 6: Onward to Makai.

A/N: Please take note that this happened before Chapter 4

Duo went through his packed bag for the thousandth time. 'Okay,
shirt...check, pants...check...ward for jagan and kokuryuuha is here.
Anything else? My katana all ready and polished. Everythings' done!'
his thoughts ran through his mind. He smiled at that accomplishment.

Beside his backpack was a long item wrapped in a white cotton cloth.
it was tied at the top revealing only the hilt of what it contained.
Opening the knot, he allowed the wrap to fall onto the ground. He held
in his hand a katana, HIS katana. The sword that he had kept since
aquiring it since he was young. The sword that he had kept with him
all the time and took care that it was not found. The sword hidden
away all this time but not forgotten. Now it was time to use it.

Taking out the blade from its sheath, he marvelled at the bright light
that reflected off it. He could see his reflection on the side of the
blade. The bitter sharpness of the blade when he cut himself with it.
The sharp and shiny blade showed that proper care had been given to it.

He swung the sword into position. He savours the familiarness of the
stance. The stance that Hiei used. The sword in place, his body ready.
His face showed grim determination. Suddenly, in a breath of displaced
air, Duo disappeared. Seconds passed. He materialised a short distance
away, with several cuts embedded in the wall. Silently he asked Genkai
for forgiveness. For several minutes, he practiced. Moving at inhuman
speeds, preparing himself for the oncoming battle. He couldn't manifest
his flame power in his ningen form though. He conditioned his weaker
ningen body to fit the stronger and shorter form of Hiei.

It was about 11:30pm at night when he finally stopped. He felt full
again. Adrenalie flowed through his veins, ready to go into battle.
His face more of a frown than a smirk. HIs mind going into Hiei mode.
This time to cave his sister, Yukina.

Heero looked up from his laptop. He heard almost inaudible shuffling
from Duo's room. He noted he time, 11:25pm. At night, he knew not to
disturb Duo. He could get rather... volatile. But the uncharacteristic
silence from Duo's room made him suspicious. 'What would the braided
baka be doing at this time of the night?' Heero thought. He was usually
sleeping...and snoring. Closing his laptop, he headed slowly towards
Duo's room.

As he was about to open the door, the silent shuffling had ceased. He
heard heavy panting coming from the room. Then Duo spoke. "Well that
went better than I thought. This job with the gundams had kept my
fitness level up. But adapting my technique with this body took some
work but it was worth it. I have to change in order to go back into
the Makai, don't wanna get eaten once I get there, do I? Now where is
that bottle..." Duo's voice faded out as more shuffling could be heard.
Heero was overwhelmed with curiosity, but his soldier's side told him
to be patient and gather more information. He waited for a while longer.
Seconds passed...his impatience overtook him. He reached for the door
knob.

"Ahh... Here it is!" Duo exclaimed. In his hand he held a small corked
glass bottle filled with a translucent liquid. He opened the cork
ready to consume its contents.

"Duo..." came a deep voice from behind him.

"Argh!!!" he squealed, the botle suddenly slipping from his startled
fingers. Attempts to catch it failed as it landed on the floor
spilling its precious contents. His eyes bug out at the sight. Quickly
he scooped up its remaining contents from the floor. He looked towards
the person that had startled him. He was surprised that it was Heero
that stood at the door. He didn't know what to do or say.

"Heero..." The slippery vial slipped from his hand hold to end up on
the floor spilling its remaining contents. The liquid began to
evaporate almost immediately filling the room with a thick heavy fog.

Duo felt his body being transformed when he breathed in the fog. His
body changed from the tall frame of Duo to the shorter one of Hiei's.
His body became more muscular. His hair darkened, a white starburst
formed on his forehead. Duo felt his third eye open and the surge of
power when his Black dragon returned to him.

Heero watched the transformation through the fog, careful not to
breathe in the strange fog. He was shocked as the tall violet-eyed Duo
was replaced with a short three-eyed runt. Though it seems that he
couldn't hold his breath too long. He had to breathe. He breathed in
taking a huge portion of air mixed with the strange fog. Suddenly he
felt like he was sucked into a vortex...

Duo looked morosely at the shocked Heero standing at the door. He knew
his secret was out. Heero mouthed his name when he suddenly stood
totally still. "...Heero...?!?" Duo asked.

Heero's transformation occurred all of a sudden. Heero's slender form
gave way to a taller, moremuscular frame. His body was tattooed with
strange markings on his arms, face and chest. His unruly hair grew
longer until it almost touched the floor. His facial expression changed
to a more friendlier look. His prussian blue eyes changed colour to a
chestnut colour. A cocky smile was plastered on his face.

Hiei saw Heero changing. He thought that Heero had transmogrified due
to the scientists' weird experiments. He couldn't believe his very own
eyes. How he never noticed was a wonder. Heero was Yuusuke! He
back-tracked his thoughts earlier: 'Knowing Koenma, he'd find a way to
bring us back together.'

"Yo Hiei! How are things going? For that matter, where are YOU going?"
He asked in a voice so unfitting for Heero. Hiei recorvered from his
initial shock. He turned very serious.

"I've got a mission Yuusuke." Yuusuke stiffened at the word 'mission'
and narrowed his eyes, signifying that his Heero side was still active.
"Yukina's in trouble, Yuusuke. So is the rest of tha Makai. I have to
save her. You can follow me if you want."

Yuusuke's eyes did not change. He became more serious. "Hiei I realise,
this is important to you. But you can't leave the safehouse without
telling anybody. I'll follow you and get whomever is hurting Yukina.
I'd do the same if it was Keiko who was in trouble."

Hiei stpped in his tracks and smiled a bit. "Hn. You're getting soft, Heero."

A/N: That was a struggle to finish. I couldn't get to the computer
even if My house has TWO! Sorry if it took too long. From now on,
expect the wait to be longer as I've got my exams in three weeks time.
I can't afford to lose marks over this story, can I?
