Chapter Three: Arrival

Yusuke was first through the portal, landing with a 'thump' on th floor.

Kuwasbara landed on the opposter side of the bed that Yusuke fell on, hi 'thump' a bit louder.

Kurama landed comfrontably in the desk chair, wondering where hiei ended up because the demon should have came before him.

Hiei opened the bedroom door, a bit agitatied. he landed flat on the hardwood kitchen table. He knew comming would be a bad idea.

"Where are we?" He asked.

"I don't know," Yusuke said, rubbing his head. "Isn't there an easier was to travel?"

"Why can't Botan tell us where we're going?" Kuwabara complained, sitting up.

"I think we may be in the Gundam universe," Kurama observed. "If I'm not mistaken, that's Heero on the bed."

Heero rolled over at the sound of his name, muttering something along the lines of 'I'm so sorry' in a troubled sleep.

"We'd better go before he wakes up," Yusuke suggested. "That would make sure we'd avoid trouble."

"You always seem to find it anyway," Hiei said with a smirk.

Yusuke was quiet. Damn the truth hurt!

"Let's go," Kurama said, getting up. "I don't think he'll stay asleep much longer with us hanging around in here."

"Kuwabara," Yusuke said, a little louder then the whisper they were currently speaking. "What the hell do you think you're doing?"

"Poking the sleeping guy," he answered. "He doesn't look like he's waking up anytime soon to me."

"The object of this game is to keep him asleep," Hiei harshly whispered. This guy looked dangerous, and he was a good judge of character.

"Don't tell me what to do," Kuwabara snapped.

"Then start using the half-a-brain of yours," Yusuke retorted.

"I'll show you half-a-brain," Kuwabara began.

"Who's here," Heero murmered. He heard voices, and they weren't the usual ones of his haunted memories or any of the other piliots. He slowly reached his hand into his pillow case until he found the smooth hilt of the gun...

"See what you did," Hiei whispered angerly. "You woke him up!"

"I didn't mean to," Kuwabara said, a bit frantic.

"Who the hell are you," Heero asked, stitting up and cocking the gun.

"I am Kurama," Kurama replied calmly. "And please forgive the intrusion. We had no intention on being here at all."

"How do I know you're telling the truth," Heero asked, pointing the gun at Kurama.

"Put the gun down," Hiei said, pulling out his katana. "I won't give you another chance."

Heero didn't flinch," Who are you?"

"None of your business," Hiei replied with a smirk. "The only thing you need to know is that if you pull that trigger, I will bring your death."

"Hey," Yusuke said, holding up his hands. "There's a huge misunderstanding here. I'm Yusuke Umameshi and we are demon hunters sent here to make sure there aren't any badies hanging out here."

Heero turned the gun on Yusuke, who began to sweat. "There's no such things as demons, except in the dark secrets that live in the hearts and minds of men."

"Then am I just a part of your imagination?" Hiei asked.

"You're just a short, katana-weilding kid," Heero answered coldly.

Hiei's eye began to twitch.

"He is short isn't he?" Kuwabara laughed.

"Forgive Kuwabara," Kurama sighed. "He can be impossible sometimes."

"How about I kill you instead," Hiei replied, pointing the katana at Kuwabara. "I'd have more fun."

Heero noted that the two didn't really get along. Advantage for him. A little confusing as well, because why would they fight if there were only four of them? That was something he didn't understand. Most small groups knew how to function when trying to assasinate someone, he would know. Maybe they were trying to get him let his guard down. That was a good possibility.

"You two aren't helping the situation," Kurama said, holding his head and sitting back down. You'd think he'd be used to this by now.

Heero began to let his guard down, a smidge. There was something about them that made him know they were telling the truth. What was it, he still didn't know. Maybe, he was getting better at 'reading people' as Quatre put it.

He put the gun to his side. Looks weren't everything and his heart had lied to him too many times before to be truely depended upon.

"Hey, he put the gun down," Yusuke observed out loud.

"I think we can see that," Kurama sighed.

"I'd be worried if you couldn't, Umameshi," Kuwabara said, unamused.

Heero was silent. Maybe he should take them to the others and go from there. That way, he'd have help if things got too out of hand. It seemed the proper thing to do in this kind of situation.

"Don't try anything funny," Heero advised, standing up. "We're going for a little walk."

"Where to," Yusuke asked.

"Some place where I know that you can be further watched," Heero answered. "Try anything funny, and I pull the trigger. Remember that."

"Might as well," Kurama siad, standing back up. "It's nothing to cause trouble over."

"Says you," Hiei muttered.

"Put the sword away," Yusuke said. "Maybe we'll be able to find out if demons did create this portal, stop them on the way, and go back home."

"You sound like it's going to be easy," Kurama said.

Yusuke mutterd obscene phrases under his breath.

"Lets go," Heero said, pointing the gun at Yusuke. "No time for games."

Yusuke followed Hiei, Kuwabara, and Kurama out the door.

Heero was behind them, telling them the way to the training facility. He wasn't sure if this was a good idea, since they would be able to see the way clearly, but the circumstances weren't perfect either. So he made due and led them to the vacant building where Duo had built his prized simulation chamber.
