Authors notes: Sorry I haven't replied to the reviews through the reply section but this Is my first time using Media Miner so I'm not sure how to use that yet. I shall endeavor to answer you here for now. Duo Feels abandoned basically because Heero just took off and left him for the mission with out saying anything , but yet he told Relena which hurt Duo because he found out from her and he's basically hooked on whatever he can get his hands on ,mainly medication drugs etc..I had already wrote this story for a mailing list and that's why it comes how it does ..but please the more you tell me the more I can improve on these things for next time around and I am grateful for the reviews ^______^ Thanks

Disclaimer. . I have no official rights to the Gundam boys or their underwear, however I have often wondered where the hell Heero pulls his gun out from (good old Spandex space hey?). Maybe it's a hidden pocket in his jocks ^^;; hehe oh well..

A Love Beyond All Measure part 4

Duo held tight to his friend for what seemed like forever and Heero hadn't let go either.

The violet-eyed Shinigami had never been afraid of dying before, but this time it was different.

There was no honor in dying this way.

"Shit!" he thought with a depressed sigh, "I'm starting to think like Wufei." but the statement was true enough there ~was~ no honor in dying like this. There was no purpose, no mission, no reason, except, selfish stupidity.

Heero lifted the boy up and looked into his sad and frightened violet eyes. "Do the others know about this?"

"No!" Duo sighed loudly, "None of the others do. I...I don't want them to know what I've turned into." he paused, wondering how his life had suddenly become this meaningless and shameful.

Heero stood, pulling Duo up with him. Holding him up as the boy continued to shake and sweat profusely "I think we should tell them, they'd want to help too."

Duo grabbed him tightly by the shoulders and pleaded with his friend. "Please Heero, spare me the shame of it all. I couldn't cope with it right now!"

Heero looked at him, the boys eyes said it all, he was scared of dying like this; scared of the shame he'd brought upon himself... "Alright. I'll respect your request...For now."

The young Shinigami threw his arms around his friends neck and hugged him close, pressing himself into him. Heero blushed, trying to figure out why a sudden warm feeling had flushed through his entire body as Duo held onto him.

Starting to feel a little too comfortable, the perfect soldier pulled away a little, "W... we need to get you to the hospital Duo." he said with a slight stutter as he gently pushed the boy away. "Now go get dressed. I'll wait for you in the lounge." He tried to sound cold and uncaring towards the youth but he couldn't quite pull it off like he used to.

Duo smiled not falling for it and for some reason he felt compelled to reach out and touch Heero's cheek. "Thank you Hee-chan." the boy said softly and sincerely, watching the perfect soldier's face as it turned a darker shade of crimson red under the gentle touch of his hand.

It was so clammy and sweaty but the boy didn't budge. Instead he cleared his throat nervously and shook the strange feeling off, "I'll help you to my room, you can choose something to wear and then we need to get going." he looked Duo directly into his big violet eyes, piercing them with one of his no nonsense looks....

Duo nodded saying nothing, as Heero helped him to the room...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heero wasn't fond of hospitals. The white bare walls, the smell of disinfectants and sterile environment subtly reminded him of death.
Death!
That's all they had known for a long time the violence, killing, destruction, but that was the past now and he was determined not to let it be his guiding light. The visions and memories of the girl and her puppy were vivid enough in his mind, the innocence that died that day the unnecessary blood that was shed and all for the sake of peace.
It was so ironic to have to fight for peace, such a contradiction of words.
Heero let a soft frustrated sigh escape his lips as he watched Duo shake violently for a few moments in the front seat of the car. He hated seeing him this way.
Duo, the self-proclaimed God of death, reduced to a blithering mess. It was a sight Heero never even envisioned of his usually happy go lucky friend.
They pulled up at the set of lights they had just come to and Heero glanced out of his window.
The heat and smell of the city made him a little uncomfortable, life since the war had become so unpredictable. Before, they had missions and a set way of accomplishing things. But now…. now they were all so different, so unplanned, so unfocussed. …. And suddenly, he knew how Duo must have felt before all of this and maybe still even now, felt.
He didn't have a chance to think or react, without warning Duo opened the passenger door and shot out of the car running as fast as his unstable legs would carry him. .
"What the? !!!!.." Heero exclaimed just as the lights changed to green "DUO, YOU STUPID FUCK!!!" he yelled, as the vehicles behind him became impatient, sounding their horns and yelling obscenities as Heero's car slowly moved off.
Heero quietly sighed as the foolish Shinigami stumbled and fought his way through the crowd finally disappearing out of his sight. You're a fucking fool…Duo a stupid fucking fool."
