Duo closed the apartment door behind him quietly, still stunned from the events of the day. Locking the door, he turned to see Wufei sitting on the couch. Duo tried to smile at his friend but found he couldn't, he didn't want to smile ever again.

"What are you doing here, Wu?"

What's the matter Mary Jane, you had a hard day

As you place your don't disturb sign on the door

You lost your place in line again, what a pity

You never seem to want to dance anymore

Wufei frowned slightly at the unsmiling Duo, something was wrong...but first things first.

"We were supposed to have lunch together today."

"I'm sorry...something...came up."

//Earlier that day//

"Hee-chan, I'm going to lunch. Do you want me to bring you something?"

"Duo, could you come in here a moment before you leave? We need to talk."

Duo popped his head into Heero's office, a questioning look on his face.

"Sure, what's up?"

"Come in and close the door, please."

Duo's look changed to one of worry before he complied with Heero's request. He forced a smile before turning to face Heero.

"So what do ya wanna talk about, Heero?"

"Us."

"Us? What about us?"

"We're over Duo.

"W-what? What do you mean?"

"I mean we're over."

//End Flashback//

Its a long way down

On this roller coaster

The last chance streetcar

Went off the track

And you're on it

Duo shook his head clearing away the depressing scene. He'd hoped they'd stay together. He'd dreamed about all the things they'd do with each other. He should have known better.

"Duo, what's wrong?"

Ignoring the question, Duo looked down at the suit he had worn to work that day. It was the one that, Heero always said, brought out his eyes. He'd worn it for Heero today.

I hear you're counting sheep again Mary Jane

What's the point of tryin' to dream anymore

I hear you're losing weight again Mary Jane

Do you ever wonder who you're losing it for

"Duo, what's wrong?"

"What makes you think that something's wrong, Wu?"

"I know you. Tell me what's wrong."

Well its full speed baby

There's a few more bruises

"Nothing's wrong, Wufei."

"Duo, you're lying. Tell me what's wrong so I can help."

Please be honest Mary Jane

Please don't censor your tears

Duo closed his eyes and when he opened them they were filled with unshed tears, but he once again tried to smile for Wufei.

"Heero left me."

He shrugged.

"But don't worry about me, Wu. I'll be okay. J-just because..."

His voice cracked and the tears he had been holding back began to fall.

"Just because no one loves me doesn't mean I won't be okay."

Wufei stood up and walked over to him.

"That's not true."

Duo looked away, but Wufei pulled his face back.

"It's not. I love you."

Duo's eyes widened, "W-what?"

Wufei's gaze met his, "I. Love. You."

Wufei leaned closer and closer until their lips were centimeters apart and then closer still until the were finally kissing. Duo's eyes fluttered closed, 'This shouldn't be happening...I love Heero...but it feels so good..."

So take this moment Mary Jane and be selfish

Worry not about the cars that go by

All that matters Mary Jane is your freedom
