Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Alaskan Yule Adventures ❯ chapter7 ( Chapter 7 )
The pool (Part two)
Jordan looked at the ground, When Jack had hit her it had split her lip. Anger shimmered in her eyes as she tried to work her wrists free. You know they'll figure it out soon enough. She growled low. She watched a drop of blood fall from her lip, a scarlet splash hitting the white snow.
"I don't think so. Those humans couldn't track their own kind, let alone one of us." Jack knelt looking at her. "So, will you play nice." He brushed another drop of blood from her lip, lightly tasting it.
"Fan out, make sure they don't disturb us. Seems like the little Ice Queen's been keeping another secret." Jack looked at her. "How long have you been seeing like Humans?"
Jordan looked at him. He shook her again. "Answer me."
Liz looked up from where she had tripped in the snow, the little bunny ears on her hat drooping as she did. Duo looked at her and bit back a laugh. It was clear that the girl was slightly childish, a nice compliment to Lynn's more mature attitude.
"You okay?" He knelt to help her up.
"Yeah, slipped on a patch of ice." She stood brushing off her jacket. Her moon boots crunched more in the snow.
"You know, with you dressed like that it's hard to remember you're older than Trowa."
"I know, isn't it cute!" She grinned then went serious. "Come on, we have to find Jordan." He shook his head.
Lynn looked over at the two of them and shook her head. I told her not to bring that outfit, but she insisted. She thought as she and Trowa headed deeper into the woods. "Jordan!"
Wufei and Heero both jumped back as something barreled out of the fog at them. Heero landed low wishing he had brought his gun, but Duo had talked him out of it and out of bringing his laptop.
Wufei looked around for the figure. "Where did it go?"
Heero watched his teammate stand more rigid, like he was preparing for the exercises he did every morning. He's getting ready to fight. Can he see whoever it was? Heero Yuy thought as the shadow started to become more defined.
"You know, this is going to be easier than chasing the Nymphs." The figure laughed.
"Jack doesn't want them dead. At least not until he talks to the one that was spending time with the Princess." Another voice said from the shadow of a tree.
"Princess?" Heero and Wufei both looked at each other.
"Idiot, they don't know what she is. You know how she's working." The first figure bopped his companion.
"OW! What'd ya do that for?"
"Because you're an idiot. Catch them will you?"
The two looked to where Heero and Wufei had been. "Huh, where'd they go?"
Jack growled low feeling as if he was being watched. Jordan kept her eyes closed. Her mind searching for something to use to get help. She hung limply in her bonds. Jack had been using her as a punching bag, trying to get her to give up the secret on how to see colors.
Jack glanced at her. "Don't you dare." He growled low. She looked up at him, her eyes glaring. Jordan struggled against the bindings holding her up. She was trying to stay focused, though it was starting to get harder on her. Jack knelt pulling her face up painfully. "Now, you going to behave?" He asked coldly.
She shook her head the best she could whimpering slightly. He moved his hand to slap her again, only to find his hand caught by a tanish hand. He glanced up into angered green eyes. A smaller blond stood near her trying to free her wrists from the tree branches holding her.
Quatre slid out of his jacket wrapping it around Jordan holding her shivering body. "It's okay Jordan." He said calmly. She turned into him resting her head on the small blond's shoulder. He took the gag out of her mouth. "We'll get you out of here okay?" He asked kneeling with her in the snow. Quatre held her close to him using his body heat to try to warm her. She's like Ice right now. Blue eyes glared coldly at the man who had hurt her. Jordan slumped against him, her breathing slowing more. "Stay with me Jordan, come on, wake up." He spoke calmly, trying not to frighten her more.
She nodded. She heard a thump behind her and saw Jack lying on the ground. Blood dripping from a broken nose. She saw him breathing and part of her thanked the elders for letting him live.
"Ow. He's got a harder head than Duo.." Trowa said looking at the two. "Quatre, you're going to get a cold." He took off his own jacket to wrap around Jordan.
"Inside... need warm up..." Words were hard for her to form in her mind let alone talk. Trowa picked her up as Heero and Wufei came out of the fog.
"Jordan." Wufei went to them. "You okay?" He asked taking her carefully. Her head rolled into his shoulder, her strength almost gone.
She's been holding on so long. She has to pull through. Trowa thought ushering them toward the hotel again. "Go in the back door, they won't be able to ask questions that way. I'll get some more blankets to help warm her."
"Better find Duo and the girls too. Last I saw they were headed the other way." Quatre said calmly.
"I'll get them. Quatre, you're better with first aid, you think you could stay with her and Wufei?"
Quatre nodded slightly. "I'll be able to." He stammered slightly, handing Trowa his jacket. "You two be careful."
Jordan heard the soft breathing of someone in deep meditation as she woke. She felt the bandages on her wrists and the warm blankets around her. Glancing over to the window seat she sat the black haired youth sitting with his eyes closed. Reaching out with her mind she felt the others were all inside as well, within fifty yards of the room.
How long was I out? Wufei looks like he hasn't slept yet. She thought not daring to break the peace of the room. Dark eyes fell on her as they opened slowly.
"You feeling better?" He asked, his voice hardly a whisper. She attempted to sit up, giving a low cry in pain as her wrists felt like they were on fire. Concern filled his face as he went to her side.
"I'll be fine, just a little sore. Where's he?"
"The State troopers took him this morning. We kept you here thinking it would be better than letting you breathe the cold air again." He brushed the hair out of her face. "Would you like anything warm to drink?" He asked sitting near her.
She shook her head. "Not yet."
Liz pouted. "No fair. My full house should have beaten that two pair."
Lynn rolled her eyes watching the eighth hand of the poker game get challenged.
"You're hand's lower though. And I had four of a kind... All Aces." Duo explained. The two had been playing the last three hours, since Jack had been taken away. Heero and Trowa both were playing chess in a corner. There was a small grunt as Trowa put Heero into checkmate. Lynn and Quatre both went back into their books shaking their heads at their friend's antics.
The door to the room all six of them were watching opened. Wufei slipped out of the room quietly, heading for the stairs.
"Is she awake?" Lynn asked.
"She just faded back to sleep. I'm getting her some more soup." Wufei said with a look of relief. "She's stronger now though."
"That's good." Liz said smiling. "Why don't you go get some sleep, you've been watching over her the past two days." She stood to go get the soup. "I can get whatever you need."
"I'm okay." Wufei said. I just wish that she didn't have to live through that. The man's lucky that Trowa was there instead of me. She's badly frostburned, luckily none of it's turned black though. He thought. Liz and Duo were both by his side as he started to feel dizzy.
"Come on buddy, off to bed with you. I think the girls can handle taking care of Jordan for a while." Duo helped the ponytailed youth to his room. "And any complaining and I'll drag out some of the things I brought for Hee-chan."
Heero blushed slightly hearing the American Pilot's words. The braided boy didn't pay attention as he ushered the Chinese boy into the room.
"Didn't think you guys were into kink." Trowa muttered flatly making Quatre laugh.
"I don't want to know." Lynn said watching her girlfriend run down the stairs with a laugh.
