He ran as fast as he could down the long corridor. It had become all too familiar to him. The blue floor, the sterile white walls...they'd become the most haunting componant to his reoccuring nightmares. He'd lost count after around twenty as to how many times he'd been in this very same wing. Well, not exactly -this- wing. Then again, it didn't matter. They serve the same purpose, they're filled with the same stench: blood, alcohol, fear. They were all the same to him. Left, right, left. His head snapped back and forth as he scanned every room with incredible speed. He fell short on the fourth door on the right hand side.
Bursting through the swaying doors, he entered the operating room. He lay there on the table, screaming in pain. It was at that point that everything around him grew silent in his mind, the scream being the only thing he could hear. Nurse after nurse came at him to pull him out of the room, and one by one limp nurse after limp nurse fell to the floor like a discarded doll. The doctor's face was covered by the manditory mask, but he could still see the words that were mouthed underneath the flimsy cloth. "Get him out of here! Call Security!"
His vision went red, and not just from the blood he saw on the floor and all around him. It was the sound he heard. He heard his name being screamed. The sound send his body into a full blown rage as he advanced on the doctor. He gripped him by the throat and began screaming curse after curse, spitting in the doctor's face several times before finally realizing he was choking the one person who could very well save his lover's life. He dropped the doctor and pointed to the table. "FIX HIM."
Three guards plowed into the operating room, guns aimed and ready to fire at whim. His love's frightened cry made him even angrier. His head snapped to the side as he glared down the guards. The one all the way on the right shrieked at the glare and bolted out of the room. 'Rookie' he thought to himself as he glared down the other two. The officer in the front was obviously not afraid, however the one on the left was shaking incredibly. He turned completely to face them and said nothing. He simply glared, making sure they knew he wasn't going anywhere. The officer in charge dropped his gun, and nodded. As he spun back around to face his love, a single shot rang out.
The impact hardly registered to the perfect soldier. The force of the bullet imbedding into his side, however, was enough to force him to stumble slightly. A scream rang out once again; his lover's frenzied cry of rage. The shakey subordinate stammered appology after appology, but they were spoken in vain. He steadied himself, ignoring both the officers and the now cowering surgeon. The bullet was aching inside of him, but he ignored it. Pain was just another feeling he had been taught to block out. He walked to his love's side, gripping his hand gently. The worried look on his companion's face was more painful than the bullet which currently resided within him. Nurses rushed in and began checking the wound, applying pressure and calling for the another surgeon to be brought in. He paid them no heed as he held his lover's hand tighter, refusing to let go or be pulled away. He felt a wave of numbness wash over him and he leaned over the table quickly. Placing a gentle kiss on his forehead, he stayed awake long enough to whisper in his partner's ear before blacking out.
