Always Remember to Knock at the Door
It was unbearable. His red, raw skin burned every time something so much as brushed against it. The pain was so terribly unpleasant Treize had decided early on that he WAS NOT going to wear any clothes today. Every time he even tried to so much as put on underwear, his skin hurt like hell.
He had worn little enough yesterday, and that was what had gotten him into this mess to start with. He had gone out to the pool wearing nothing but his tiny Speedo with the intent to relax and forget about all the stress he had been though the past few days. And he had fallen asleep in the pool chair, the pool chair for God sakes! He hadn't woken up until well past noon, and by that time his skin was a deep red and hot to the touch.
He felt like a fool, but wasn't going to let it get him down. Treize called in sick for the day, reasoning that he needed a break if he was so exhausted that he fell asleep in an uncomfortable pool chair that had, incidentally, left horizontal stripes all down his back an ass from lying against the lined surface without a towel under him.
He had decided to spend the day reading, watching television, listening to music and sleeping. Naked.
The day was progressing quite well, he had slept until 11 and then he had gotten up and read on his couch, listening to wonderful music that elicited all types of unnamable emotions from him. He was still on the couch around 12:30 basking in his musical induced bliss when his fogged mind registered the sound of his lock being turned and his door being opened. He was in such a state of lethargy that his reflexes were slowed in it took him precious moments until he sprang to his feet and ran to the door to see who was breaking into his house.
Treize stopped short at the sight that met him. There was Wu Fei, one of his coworkers, standing there STAREING at him. What the hell was Wu Fei doing in his home?? But then his thoughts changed course, now Treize couldn't imagine why on earth Wu Fei was looking at him in such a manner until he remembered he wasn't wearing any clothes. Just as Treize was about to speak and explain his condition the Chinese man's eyes widened and he bolted from the door.
Treize stood there dumbfounded, forked eyebrows at the top of his forehead in disbelief. That had to be the second most mortifying thing that had ever happened to him. The first on the list was getting the damn sunburn to begin with!
The blue eyed man didn't know what to do. He could call Wu Fei's cell phone, but it might be too soon after such a shock for Wu Fei to want to speak with him. That and Treize wasn't looking forward to explaining to Wu Fei about how he had stupidly fallen asleep in a goddamned pool chair and gotten goddamned sunburn because he was a goddamned idiot.
Treize liked Wu Fei a lot and even more than that he respected the Chinese man. They had worked together on a number of projects and each had turned out wonderfully because the two of them seemed to have some sort of connection. They understood each other's ideas perfectly and their work blended together so harmoniously you would they were one. Their personalities clashed somewhat, but it was their thought processes and minds that mattered. They both worked for a large engineering company and were the top employees there. Raking in a bundle of money each year convinced both of them that their personal differences didn't matter in light of their success.
He and Wu Fei hardly ever spoke on a personal level, and when they did the conversation was often stilted. ~ That was probably because when we do speak in an unofficial capacity I usually flirt with him outrageously to make him uncomfortable.~ Treize mused with a grin to himself. ~He's so damn cute when he blushes. Even when it's in anger…~
However, their difficult personal relationship made Wu Fei's coming to his house even more unusual. True he had given Wu Fei a key to his house when he had to travel on business, but that was only so he could water his plants. Wu Fei had preformed a similar exchange when he had to leave for a long period of time as well. But still, why would Wu Fei come here in the middle of the day when he KNEW Treize was home?
Treize determined to confront the man tomorrow and inquire as to why he barged into his house on his only day off and then run out like a frightened monkey*. He decided not to let the interruption ruin his day and went back to his reading.
It was around three o'clock when he heard a knock at the door. Treize decided not to answer the door. He didn't want another interruption, and he CERTAINLY didn't want to have to put clothes on. The knock came again. Louder this time and with the knock came a voice. Wu Fei's voice.
"Khushrenada I know you're in there so put a robe on an answer the door or I'm coming in whether you're dressed or not!"
Not wanting to annoy the Chinese man any further, the much tried, severely sunburned Treize sighed and reached for the robe he discarded across the back of his chair.
"I'm coming Chang, I'm coming, just have patience, and I'll be right there."
He tied his robe as he walked towards the door, and was just finishing the knot as he opened it. He looked at the figure standing there. The first thing Treize noticed was that Wu Fei was holding a big potted plant. The next was his appearance. Wu Fei's face was slightly flushed and his tight little ponytail all windblown. He looked adorable, so cute and disheveled. Treize had never seen Wu Fei anything short of immaculate, and this was a shock.
"You know it's a little late for a house warming gift Wu Fei, I've been living here for years." Treize said glibly, if a bit breathlessly.
Wu Fei ignored the comment as he did so many others. "Aren't you going to invite me in?"
"You weren't so concerned about propriety a few hours ago when you barged into my home without knocking." Trieze reminded him amused.
"I did knock. You didn't answer." Wu Fei replied angrily, but had the grace to flush.
~So cute~ Treiz thought again. **
"If I didn't answer, perhaps it meant that I was otherwise occupied or did not wish to be disturbed." Suggested Treize.
"Or that you were terribly sick and couldn't get up, and needed assistance of some sort." Wu Fei retorted with a scowl.
"Why Wu Fei!" Treize exclaimed. "I didn't know you cared."
The Chinese man rolled his eyes and pushed past Treize into the living room.
"Take your robe off."
"I beg your pardon."
"Granted."
"What?"
"I said `granted'."
"I know but what did you so generously `grant' me? And what did you say before that?"
"You begged my pardon and I granted it to you."
Now it was Treize's turn to roll his eyes.
"It's just like you to take such a thing in a literal sense."
"Are you going to take your robe off or not?"
"You never told me why you want me to take it off."
"You never asked."
"YES I DID!"
"No you didn't. You asked for my pardon and then you asked what I said. I granted you pardon and then I told you what I said."
"FINE! Why do you want me to take my robe off??"
"So that I have access to your skin."
Treize rolled his eyes again. "And why, pray tell, do you need access to my skin?"
"So I can put some of this on it."
Wu Fei held up the huge bright green spiky plant that looked like it had little thorns growing along side the leaves. If you could indeed call them leaves, they looked more like spikes growing every which way. It did not look like anything he would want on his skin, even when it wasn't sun burned.
"What is it?"
"It's called aloe, the oil within the leaves helps sooth burns. Even sun burn, which I can see you have an abundance of."
Now it was Treize's turn to flush, though it wasn't very noticeable under the sunburn. He eyed the plant suspiciously.
"Will it hurt?"
"Does it matter?"
"Yes."
"Sissy."
"Forgive me if I'm a bit concerned about my skin."
"You obviously weren't so concerned yesterday."
"Ifellasleepinthesunandgotburned." Treize mumbled.
"What was that?" Wu Fei asked with a smirk.
"I said: `I feel asleep in the sun and got burned.'"
"That wasn't very smart, didn't you know you'd be sunburned?"
Treize just glared.
"No."
"No what?"
"No it will not hurt. Though it may just a bit when I touch your skin, but that's it."
"Ok then I guess you can put it on."
"Good now will please take off the robe and lay down on the couch."
"Why do I have to lay down?"
"Because you're taller than me and it would be hard to reach properly if you stood."
"Oh." Treize said brilliantly.
Wu Fei broke off one of the spikes on his plant, as he was concentrating on his little venture into botany Treize removed his clothes and lay on his back on the couch.
He began with Treize's chest. Smearing the oily substance on his skin, over his pectorals, and up to his shoulders and collarbone. Wu Fei ran his hands gently over Treize neck and throat. Very carefully as if trying not to cause him anymore discomfort than necessary.
Wu Fei moved to his arms, his fingers so impossibly gentle, Treize could hardly believe it. His touches were so delicate, so soft that it was relaxing Treize and driving him mad at the same time.
Breaking off another spike Wu Fei transferred his attention to Treize's stomach. Sliding his slippery hands down the length of his belly, and rubbing the oil in with careful confident strokes.
As Wu Fei moved to his hips and thighs Treize began to get worried. What if his enjoyment became evident? What would Wu Fei say?? What would he think?? Even worse what would he DO?? Images of Wu Fei beating him into a bloody sunburned pulp kept other more interesting images at bay, but Treize was still enjoying himself.
Breaking off another stalk Wu Fei started in on his thighs and legs. The pain of Treize's burns soothing in the wake of Wu Fei's careful hands. Finally Wu Fei reached his ankles and the tops of his feet.
Wiping his hands in a towel he had brought with him, Wu Fei looked up at Treize.
"Feel better?" He inquired.
"Much." Treize replied sleepily.
"Good then you'd better be at work tomorrow." Wu Fei said in a soft voice. Knowing the other man was close to sleep, he turned to leave. He was halfway to the door when a voice called him back. He turned back and looked at Treiz, saw his gleaming skin, shining with the oil in the light of the lamp. ***
"Wu Fei?"
"Yes?"
"Why did you come?"
"You weren't at work."
"You know what I mean."
Wu Fei sighed. "I came because I was worried. You never just called off like that before; I thought it must be bad."
Treize smiled.
"Wu Fei?"
"Yes?"
"I like you."
"I like you too." The Chinese man replied softly, knowing the other didn't hear him because he was fast asleep.
"I like you to Treize."
And he turned and left.
