Relena sat in a small café, gazing out the windows at the somber clouds outside, nursing a cup of lukewarm coffee in her hands, swirling the dark liquid within around the cup. She was deeply in thought, but even then, her mind strayed to one person… Heero.

Relena remembered the first time she saw him. It was a fond memory, finding Heero on that beach, at the time she didn't even know who he was, she only knew he was an injured young man.

She remembered the slightly crazed look he gave her that first day, covering his face with his hand. From that instant she knew there was something very odd about him, something in his deep blue eyes captivated her, it scared her, yet calmed her at the same time.

'Heero…' she whispered to herself, 'it was two years since I last saw you… come back to me…' tears threatened to slip from her eyes.

Two days later she saw him in St. Gabriel's, instantly recognizing him. That day, when she felt him look at her, something in her heart fluttered. She shocked both herself and her friends when she gave him the invitation to her birthday, but she was crushed when Heero ripped it and uttered that he would destroy her.

But when he wiped her tears with his fingers, Relena felt odd tenderness coming from him, and that only further confused her, how can a man who threatened to kill her just a second before, be so gentle a second later.

From that day Relena changed, she lost her innocent outlook on life; her eyes were opened to the war torn world before her. The world where people like Heero lived. Her shooting star turned out to be a blessing, and a curse at the same time. But he was still more of a blessing, because she also realized what was that captivation nagging at her heart.

She used to believe that love at first sight was a foolish notion, but now she knew it was true. With that love in mind she saved Heero from Duo's bullets a few days later. It was also on that day she glimpsed what she would later know as the gundams.

Relena felt almost dead when she heard that Heero Self-Detonated his gundam in Siberia, all to save the colonies. It was then she realized just how truly noble and kind at heart Heero was. It was then she realized that the mask Heero wore was a fake one.

She remembered finding out Heero was alive, that instant, joy soared high within her heart, so without a doubt in her steps, Relena followed him to Antarctica to deliver a letter, what she found instead was her long-lost brother, fighting the man she loved.

She was glad the two stopped and that neither got hurt, but she was quickly shocked out of her joy when Zechs, took on forty mobile suits by himself, and forced her to flee with Noin and the gundam pilots. That was the last time Relena saw or heard of Heero for a long while, as he soon returned to outer space to continue to his fight there.

Relena once again realized how noble he was, even after having been betrayed by his home colonies, he still fought for them.

Sighing Relena sipped how now cold coffee, then she saw someone walk across the street, his brown hair billowing in the wind. "Heero…" Relena uttered, leaving some money on the table she ran out of the coffee shop, giving chase to the young man walking away.

Heero stopped for a few instants, tugging his coat closer to him, he was cold, and tired, he had no idea what possessed him to come to the Cinq Kingdom in the first place, but he had, and now he was lost.

"Heero!" he turned around sharply at the voice. What he saw made his heart melt, Relena was running towards him, every fiber of his being told him walk away, pretend he didn't hear, but by the time he got his legs to work it was too late, Relena caught up.

"Relena…" his voice wouldn't work any further, he saw Relena on the video screens every day, but her beauty paled on them compared to her beauty in real life.

"Oh Heero… you came back," Relena whispered, tears forming in the corners of her eyes, slipping down, tears of joy at seeing him again.

"Relena… I never wanted to leave… but I had to," Heero replied sincerely.

"Why did you have to? The war is over…" He confused Relena.

"I am waging my own war, with myself," Heero whispered so quietly he was sure Relena didn't hear him.

"Let me help you Heero, please… I… I love you… let me help you," Relena begged.

Heero looked at her sharply, having heard her words, his heart leapt into his throat, he didn't know what to say. But as he noticed Relena retreating, he knew he had to act fast, coming closer he wrapped his arms around her slim waist and pulled her close, "Relena… I love you too… more than my life," he whispered into her ear, "You're the reason I didn't die in the wars, you're the reason why I wanted to survive… you're the reason I lived after self-detonating," he added.

This brought on more tears to Relena's eyes; "Heero… please stay this time…" her hands were holding unto the material of his shirt as if she would fall into a deep dark abyss if she let go.

"I'll stay Relena, as long as you need me," cupping her chin he tilted her head up so he could look into her blue eyes, "Forever Relena… I'll stay forever, and I will protect you with my life," with that he leaned down and kissed her softly.

The tear slipped from Relena's eyes running down her cheeks, now they were tears of joy, Heero was back, her love was back, everything would be alright now, as long as he was there. As long as her angel was with her.
