Gundam Wing Fan Fiction ❯ Anyone seen my jacket? ❯ Conference ( Chapter 1 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Prologue:

It's been three years since anyone has seen Heero Yuy.(they mustn't have been looking very hard.)

Relena, as Foreign Minister and Queen of the Sanc kingdom, is hosting a conference of world and space leaders at the Peacecraft Palace… A very boring conference eh? Maybe not….

Chapter 1

Relena looked up from the growing stack of papers lying on the cluttered desk in front of her, sighing, she stretched out her arms and looked out the window of the palace conference room. Around her a dozens ministers sat debating amongst themselves.

She was sooo bored…. Watching the grass grow outside in the garden was more entertaining.

If only she could run away from her duties! Being the Foreign Minister was not something she could run away from however, people knew where she lived. Damn! She glanced around at the old men around her, she noticed the representative of the L4 Colony was absent, all the other countries and colonies were represented. Lucky devil, probably out having fun somewhere…

Quarte was supposed to be here as well, but he'd said he was not going to be able to get to the conference until the next day. Relena smiled to herself, wondering if he'd be bringing Trowa…

Relena Peacecraft was still muttering to herself when she heard herself being spoken to. Fuck!

"Minister?"

"Huh?"

The chief representative of Lute, an alliance of several small European nations, was glaring at her in irritation.

"Minister! I asked you what the Sanc Kingdom's stance on the creation of a National Guard would be! Are you listening to a word I'm saying?"

Relena sat up straighter in her chair, "Well Chief Representative Stein! I thought the Sanc Kingdom's opinion on all matters of armament were obvious! If other nations follow Lute's example we will end up in another War!" she paused, looking into the representatives tight little eyes, "In answer to your question, the Sanc Kingdom is NOT in support of Lute in rearmament!"

The minister's face had turned an unflattering shade of purple, "I am saddened you feel that way

Foreign Minister Peacecraft, you and your brother, `lightening count Zechs marquise', are after all dedicated to pacifism…"

Relena stood up suddenly, angered, "What is that supposed to mean?!"

The minister looked nervously at her, he hadn't released until now how scary a pissed-off, sleep deprived, 18 yr old could be…

A hand was placed on her shoulder, "Relena, don't mind him."

Relena froze, she'd recognise that voice anywhere! She realised she was having difficulty breathing and allowed herself to be pushed into her chair…

"Heero?"

He appeared at the empty chair next to her, "Please excuse my late arrival, Minister Peacecraft, we experienced a slight set back on the way here."

Heero Yuy sat down next to her.

*

He had grown taller since she had seen him last, he was now probably the same height as Zechs, his hair was still just as messy though, and his eyes the same deep blue…He was more handsome than ever!

As their eyes met, Relena found herself blushing furiously. The old men around them were looking contemptuously at the two teenagers at the head of the table, she fumbled for her manners, "That's not a problem..ah.." she wasn't sure what he was calling himself nowadays, seeing as though he hadn't spoken to her for three years! Ass hole!

He supplied his name, "Commander Yuy. Defence minister of the L4 colony."

"Yes, Commander Yuy, of course."

*

The next two hours ticked past even slower than the first half of the conference. Relena and Heero kept finding themselves in staring matches, and the only thing Relena gathered from the meeting was that L4 had a large peace-keeping force of mobile suits and Heero didn't like Lute.

Most of all Relena noticed that Heero was very, very hot. Looked as though she wasn't over those feeling she had for him then. I wonder if Milliardo knows he's here?

Representative Stein smiled at Heero with a comradely flair, " Commander! A soldier such as yourself would understand Lute's reasons for wishing to form a small defensive force?"

Heero looked at the man with his trademark coldness, "No. Not really. The L4 colony is surrounded by raiders, we are at constant threat from attack. That is why we maintain our suits. What does the large Lute Alliance have to fear? The Pacifist nations of earth?"

There was a murmur of agreement from the other ministers.

Stein went that purple colour again, no one spoke to him like that! "What! But, you, Commander Yuy lead a large mobile suit force yourself! Surely you understand that there is always the threat of an attack?"

Heero's expression didn't soften, "From who? The Sanc Kingdom? L4?"

The two men glared at each other, Stein quickly withering under the perfect soldier's deathstare.

Relena giggled nervously and stood, "Ah…Well, it's already 5! We'll continue the conference tomorrow at 10." She bowed neatly to the ministers who stood and bowed in return, "I thank you all for coming and I hope you enjoy your time in the Sanc Kingdom."

Pagan appeared next to Relena, "Pardon me Ministers, Dinner will be served at 7 in the main dinning room. The palace butlers will show you to your apartments sirs. Thankyou."

The men filed out of room, leaving Relena and Heero.

Relena looked at him uncertainly, he stood and lent against the conference table.

*

Relena was just as beautiful as he remembered her, Heero thought as he admired Relena from across the room. She had grown a little taller and filled out and was now more gorgeous than she had been before. She was wearing a high collared military style jacket, all brocade and embroidery with her honey-coloured hair pulled back and away from her face in a low sort of bun at the base of her neck. She looked stunning.

Heero noticed Relena's own eyes shyly study him in his own formal uniform. He was wearing tall black riding boots with black breeches as was the fashion among the officers of L4 and a long jacket sat upon his tall shoulders, its' collar flicked up almost to his face. On it were his marks of rank, unheard of on one so young. He also had several brightly coloured medals pinned over his heart, awarded for his bravery, honour and military successes. His loose white buttoned shirt was collared with a white cravat (AN: You know what I'm talking about…err..i think?) And Relena could just make out the butt of a gun tucked against his back.

She was blushing slightly, "Heero. I wasn't sure I'd ever see you again, I hoped I would but…"

Pagan coughed slightly, "Miss Relena, Mr Yuy, I'll go see that dinner in coming." With that he left the room.

Relena continued, "I was worried I'd never see you again, Heero." She was looking down at the carpet.

She looked so sad. Heero stood and walked closer to Relena, it was time he told her. He'd avoided his feelings for her for to long.

"I told you that I'd always came back to you. And I have."

She looked up, "You've… You've come back to me?" Her eyes seemed to be glistened with tears.

Heero took another step closer, "Yes."

Tears were falling openly down her cheeks now. Heero felt a twinge in his heart, he hated the thought of her crying. He wrapped his arms around her slender shoulders, "Relena, I'm sorry."

She still did not look at him, "For what?"

Heero ran his fingers along her face, gently tilting her head up to face his own, "For hurting you, Relena."

Her arms were pulling on his jacket and her tears still streamed down her perfect face. Heero was unsure of what to do or say. He leant towards her and kissed the trails left by her tears, "Don't cry. Your tears are to precious to waste on me."

Heero's eyes widened in shook as Relena slapped him right across the face. "How can you say that? I've cried over you so many times! Are you saying it was a waste?"

He grabbed her wrist preventing another "No. That's not what I meant."

"Then what did you mean?" Relena was tugging on his jacket with each word, empathising her feelings.

"I meant…" Heero paused, he wasn't sure how to express what he meant in words so he cupped Relena's face in his callused hands and gently kissed her. He'd wanted to do that for so long! The kiss ended and Heero pulled back to see Relena's reaction. She had stopped crying.

She was smiling, "Heero…"

She pulled sharply on his jacket, bringing his face back down to her own. Their lips met and they were kissing again. Heero pulled Relena closer to him, his strong arms wrapped tightly about her slender waist. Their kisses deepened and became more passionate. She tasted so sweet, almost like honey. Heero had never though until that moment someone could taste so good. He kissed her over and over, his hands under her blouse against the warmth of her bare skin, pulling her so close to him her feet barely touched the ground. Her cool delicate hands played with his hair and snuck into his shirt against his firmly muscled chest. Heero lay Relena on the table, not wanting their passion to end.

Unfortunately, the door suddenly burst open and Heero and Relena reluctantly looked up at the doorway.

It framed a livid Zechs Marquise , "HEERO YUY!!GET OFF MY SISTER!!!!"
