Chapter 6

Heero stoped at the door tucked in his shirt and drew a few steading breaths, It' oookaayyy…stay calm…everything will be fine… just distract them…

He reached for his door and yanked it open. His jaw dropped.

The sight that greeted him was strange to say the least.

To his right he heard Noin let out a huge sigh of relief and lean against the wall, beside her Duo Maxwell and Hilde Schleiner were making out. In the middle stood Quatre Reberba Winner, glancing around him looking like a confused puppy.

Zechs stood right in front of him, slightly stressed looking to say the least. In fact one of his eyebrows appeared to be twitching. Heero was suddenly a little frightened. Zechs looked insane.

"Err, Hi guys… Um… was there something you wanted to tell me?"

Noin stood and smiled nervously, "Oh no, we just came to take you to the conference… and Duo and Hilde are here…" She paused catching sight of Duo and Hilde, who apparently weren't worried about their audience. Quatre delicately cleared his throat, Duo and Hilde didn't react.

Zechs was still glaring and twitching at Heero.

Noin poked Duo with her foot. "Guys…?"

Duo eventually looked up, "Eh? What?" He looked around at the people staring at him, even Zechs was distracted. Heero reached back into his room and gave Relena the signal. Before pulling the door shut.

Quatre looked at Hilde and Duo with Disappointment, "Can't I take you two anywhere? You're always embarrassing me. Until you two learn how to behave, I'm not taking you out again."

Zechs turned to Quatre, "YOU brought them into my house?" Noin moved to hold him back, "Now, now Zechs… Quatre isn't to blame.."

Duo slapped Quatre on the shoulder, "Aww, Com'on Quatre! You know you don't mean that! If it wasn't for me'n'Hilde you'd die of boredom!"

Quatre crossed his arms. "Hmmph! I know how to have fun without you!"

"Yeah Quatre, One person Scrabble's a blast."

"Hey!"

Heero remembered now why he'd always thought Duo to loud for his own good, at this rate he'd lose his ride home. Turning Heero headed down the hall for the conference, shaking his head slightly.

The tall thin figure slipped over the wall of the Peacecraft Palace and headed towards an expensive sports car. It paused and patted the bonnet lovingly before opening the driver's door. It paused again. "What are you doing!! I am driving! Get out!" A man's voice. He put his hands on his hips.

A minute later he stalked over to the passenger's side muttering about a stupid something or rather and got in, placing an expensive camera on his lap. He then spoke to the driver, in a loud clear voice that carried across the courtyard, "yes I got some good shots!….Shut up! I am NOT immature!! …….What would you know you stupid.." The door slammed shut and the car sped away.

Relena had waited, standing against the wall on the balcony, her head poking through the door, waiting for Heero's signal. When it came she jumped onto the next balcony as quickly as she could and sped through the empty room to the door. Her heart hammering. She opened it quietly and peered out back towards Heero's door. She had to bite her tongue to hold back her shock, Quatre was scolding Duo and a guilty looking Hilde. Heero shot her a meaningful glance and she quietly headed down the hall and towards the conference, finishing buttoning up her shirt as she walked, Realising uncomfortably that she'd forgotten her V-string and was going commando.

Remind me not to do that again, that could have been baaadddd…. She shuddered and decided she needed something before she headed into the conference and redirected her steps to one of the palace vending machines… caffeine's a good start…mmmm redbull…

When she reached the vending machine. She got a couple of cans, and drank one, then paused. I really shouldn't…She put in some more money and fished a miniature vodka out of the machine… mmmm my favourite combination!

A minute later a very cheerful Foreign Minister Relena Peacecraft skipped into the conference…

Noin and Hilde watched the arguing boys in front of them, smiling. Zechs stared with an open mouth.

He then shook his head slightly, setting his long fine platinum hair shaking. He turned back towards Heero's door and found it shut and Heero no where in sight.

"Yuy!"

The others looked at him.

"Where did Yuy go?"

Noin looked at her watch, "Shit! Probably to the conference! It's supposed to start 10 mins ago!"

Quatre slapped a hand to his forehead, "WHAT!?! We're late!? Oh my god! I'm never late to anything!"

Duo smirked "Except dentist appointments eh?"

Quatre went red, Zechs growled and strode down the hall, Noin shrugged and followed.

Hilde took Quatre's arm and said, "Common' Quatre. Don't mind Duo, he's a prat. I don't like the dentist either"

Duo looked at his girlfriend in shock , "What's a prat?" He scratched his head then paused grinning, "Oh I know! The world's greatest lover or something?"

Quatre stifled a laugh.

Hilde rolled her eyes, "Thank-you for the demonstration Duo…prat"

Stein glared openly at the pretty little slut as she practically skipped into the conference hall. She was wearing a red military style uniform with her long hair hanging free around her face. Stein felt lust well up inside him. Relena caught his glare and smiled. Stein was puzzled and annoyed to find himself blushing. She walked up to her chair at the head of the table and sat down next to that smarmy bastard from L4… Just because he's commander of the L4 colony's army.. he thinks he's top shit! Really he's nothing! What does that little slut see in him?

The slut gazed adoringly at the prick next to her. Stein wanted to be sick.

Eventually Relena stood, "Good morning ministers, I trust you are all having a pleasant stay in the Sanc Kingdom?"

There was agreement and thank-you's from most of those present. Relena smiled radiantly and continued, "I'm afraid my brother Milliardo and Mr Quatre Reberba Winner are running a little late…"

Stein sneered, "How surprising!"

The cocky little L4 bastard glared at him suddenly, Stein remembered that his spies had told him that Yuy had some kind of connection to the Winner-fag. Figured.

The door swung open as if on cue and Milliardo Peacecraft walked in dressed in a uniform involving a long trench coat of some kind, that hair of his falling down to his waist. Stein shuddered. How can any man bear to have hair like a woman?

Milliardo's fiancee Lieutenant Lucretzia Noin followed close behind, also dressed in a formal uniform like Relena with her short blue-black hair neatly combed. Typical, Milliardo's butch girlfriend is more of man then him.

Heero watched as Stein's face twisted into a further sneer as Quatre and Hide entered the room, followed by Duo, sulking at their heels like a bad dog.

Watching his reactions, the stony faced perfect soldier gauged the older man's feelings. He thought back to the file he'd been sent on him that morning. Apparently he'd been worked for the Earth Sphere Alliance but had changed sides first to OZ, then White fang. He was untrustworthy and a murderer. Heero had no idea how on earth he'd managed to attain his current position. This Lute alliance had to be disbanded now, before it went the way of all the other alliances before it. Heero was taken from these thoughts by Relena. She stirred beside him. Hmmm.. do I smell.. vodka?!

Relena stood, and swayed a little. Heero prayed he was the only one to notice. Relena Peacecraft is pissed. Fuck. How in hell did she get drunk on her way from my room to the conference? How far is that!? A 100 metres!?

"Well. We'reall'ere…Shall we starttt?" Everyone stared at her , Relena! Concentrate!! If they find out you've been drinking you'll be a laughing stock!

She cleared her throat and smiled, "Ahem! Pardon me! As I was saying…. we're already behind schedule, so shall we get right into it?

The first topic today is, of course the future of Lute."

Stein sat up sharply, "What do you mean!?"

Relena smiled, "We, the people of the colonies and earth, represented here, would like to know Lute's goals and ambitions for the future."

Heero noted that Stein was turning purple, as usual.

"That has already been outlined, many times!"

One of the other ministers, a woman from Colony K1 spoke, "What representative Stein? You mean those pretty brochures we all were sent?" She picked up a colourful bit of paper in front of her, "So you mean Lute's aim's are, `To provide a peaceful European community safe from the threat of war for future generations.' What does that mean?"

Stein glared at her, Heero noticed that his Lute Allies weren't saying anything, "Exactly what it says, or can't the people of K1 read English?"

Relena started , "Representative Stein! I will not have you insult my guests…"

But the K1 minister. held up a hand.

"So Stein, Lute aims to obtain peace by building a huge powerful separate nation, as were abolished for the same reason 4 years ago by Miss peacecraft. You need an army to bring peace? I did not realise the peace was threatened. Until now."

Heero and everyone else in the room smiled. Others murmured agreement. He liked this woman. Again, Stein's Lute allies were silent, not coming to his defence.

Quatre spoke from his seat, "I agree with Minister lee, I did not realise there was any threat to the peace we enjoy until Lute spoke of it."

Heero added, "Yes, apart from minor piracy problems, the human race is at peace."

Stein turned his glare to Heero, "I did not come here to come under attack from the colonies! I can see where You're thoughts lie!"

Heero silenced him with his death stare. "You know that is not true. The people of earth feel the same way as the people of the colonies."

Stein spoke from where he sat avoiding Heero's gaze, "No they do not!"

Zechs spoke quietly, "I agree with Commander Yuy. On this matter."

Stein sneered, "What would what you think matter about any of this!? You are the ex-leader of the space colonies! You tried to blow earth up remember!?"

Noin came to her fiancee's defence, "Millardo did what he thought necessary to obtain peace! And when it came down to it, he blew up the Libra almost killing himself trying to save earth…"

Stein raised a hand, "Oh of course! You would say that wouldn't you? You're his fiancee!"

Relena started to speak, "And you're his sister! Who here can really prove that Millardo Peacecraft did try and save the earth? We all know only one person in the universe supposedly witnessed him destroy the libra's power source. And he isn't in this room is he? The pilot of Wing Zero?"

Eyes fell knowingly on Heero.

AN: …>^x^<…*meow!* There you go! Another chapter! I soooo sorry about the 7 week wait! But I have a good excuse… I was in England on holiday, (which might I add was COLD! Stupid bloody english winter…mutter mutter….)

Well! I'll have the next chapters out much quicker, like the first five.. every couple of days I guess… that is if I get some reviews… only Meio-Sei has been nice enough… mean people…
