Chapter One: The Beginning.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++
Niagara Air Force Base in Niagara Falls, New York, is a magnificent sight for tourists alike. Sometimes, you would see some local Air Force JROTC students around, practicing their colorguard drills, with the American Flag and sometimes the National Flag in two of the young recruits hands, while two other young recruits would stand besides the flag bearers, with rifles on their shoulders, looking proud. Or sometimes, you would see them just walking around with their instructor, glancing at the many planes and jets the Air Force has created. Then sometimes, the base would perform breath-taking stunts in the sky, awing a crowd of 5,000 people, if not more. The little kids pointing at the sky, and excited. Or some kids would be crying at the loud noise the fighter jets made while spinning around in the sometimes clear blue skies. Then sometimes, the jets would have a accident, and crash into the land miles away from the crowds, while some of the on-lookers gasp in shock, at such a tragic event.
Then sometimes, the Air Base would allow tourists and the young recruits walk inside of the refueler jets, or in some of the older bomber planes, and the tourists would take pictures of the inside, and some pictures would be of the young recruits sitting in the seats, showing the tourists what they looked like strapped into the seats of the jet, which lied among the sides of the jets. The many straps that were required for a proper strap-in bothered some of the recruits, the straps would be so tangled. And some of the members of the base would show the tourists the inside of the cockpit where the refueler pilot would lie down at, and the controls that were used to refuel some jets while they were in the sky. And you could hear the exciting chatter of the tourists, and the clicking of cameras.
But nobody noticed the five young teenagers walking away from the crowds, head lowered, walking so slow, that it looked like they were a bunch of convicted criminals walking off to meet their maker after the switch to the electric chair was pulled. They wore black jackets, white button up dress shirts, black ties, black shoes, and black slacks. And if you looked close enough, you could see "Preventer" badges on the left sleeves of their jackets. They were following a Air Force Major, onto a B-52 fighter jet, leaving behind the life they once knew. They were the newest employees of Area 51, located at Groom Dry Lake Air Force Base of Groom Lake, Nevada. They carried no bags with them, all they needed was themselves and the clothes on their backs. The Major stopped the five teens in their tracks and looked them over.
"Hurry inside, I am not allowed to discuss your requirements and jobs outside. Even the pilot has no idea what you five will endure." Major Lieutenant Rodgers said to the boys.
"Yes, Sir!" they all replied, and they walked inside of the jet.
When they got inside of the jet, the Major confirmed with the pilot to close the entrance port, and lock it. Within two minutes, the hatch in the back was rising, closing off the last of Niagara Falls these boys will ever see again. Shortly after, they heard the 'click' of the hatch sealing in their fate, and locking up. The five boys sat down, and looked at the Major, fear in their eyes. It was 1400 hours on a Thursday afternoon, which at that very minute the government was sending out a news broadcast that Heero Yuy, Duo Maxwell, Trowa Barton, Quatre Winner and WuFei Chang all died in the hospital of a car crash last night, at 2230 hours, of a drunk driver. The Major shut off the speaker system, and looked at the five boys, who were shaking in fear.
"As you know, at this time, you are now officially dead to the colonies and Earth. We have fake tombs for you in Forest Lawn Cemetery, and fake caskets with the American Flag draped across them. Your loved ones have been contacted."
"I see." Heero stated, voice faltering him for the first time in his life.
"After the other five people arrive, I shall inform you of what will happen. Speaking of which… Pilot Shen, open the rear hatch!" the Major barked out through his walkie-talkie.
The rear hatch unlocked itself, and hissed it's way to the ground. Major Lt. Rodgers stood up and saluted another Air Force Major, and then five other people sat across the boys, and Duo gasped.
"Professor G?! what are you doing here?!" Duo squeaked, anger flaring in him.
"Calm it boy, and sit down. I'm here for the same reason you're all here." G said, sitting down.
Duo sat down, anger in his eyes. The hatch closed up and locked itself again. The two Major Lieutenants sat down, Rodgers next to the pilots, and the new one, Litchenberger, sat down next to the five scientists.
"Strap yourselves in tightly, take off is in five minutes." Major Lieutenant Litchenberger said, and the ten occupants strapped themselves in tightly. The two Major Lieutenants followed suit, and Rodgers' started to speak.
"As you ten know, we are headed off to Area 51. But first, we will land in a local Air Force base in Las Vegas, Nevada. From there, you will have five minutes to get off of this jet, to a private Military bus that will drive you safely through Groom Lake, Nevada. On that bus, there will be seats awaiting for you, so you can rest during the drive to Groom Lake. There will also be rations for you. The windows are tinted, so civilians cannot see you or the driver of the bus. When we get inside the boundaries of Groom Dry Lake Air Force Base, you will be instructed to get off of the bus, and present your badges from your current occupation so the soldiers can comfirm your identity with the information they have received. When you have been confirmed, you will be ordered back onto the bus, which will then drop the five scientists off at Hangar 16, while you five youths will be dropped off at Hangar 15. You will get further instructions from the Captains in the hangars. Understood?"
"Yes, Sir!" the ten passengers replied in union. Then it grew silent.
"Take this time to rest." Major Lieutenant Litchenberger stated.
"Not to sound stupid, but… is there somewhere where we can get food and drinks? And relive ourselves when necessary?" Duo asked, blushing.
"After take off, you may un-strap yourselves and roam the cargo area, there, either Litchenberger or myself will show you everything."
"Thank you sir." Duo replied, and looked at Quatre, who was staring at the ground.
"Take off in three, two , one!" the pilot, Shen, counted down through Rodgers walkie talkie, and the plane was now in motion.
Everyone on board the B-52 fighter jet felt the plane rotate approximately 180 degrees around the air base, to line the jet up with the runway. Suddendly, they felt the jet pick up speed, and after a few seconds, the nose of the jet started to point north, and Quatre held onto Duo's arm. Duo was hurrying to comfort Quatre.
"Don't worry, we'll even out soon."
"I know, but I feel like I am going to puke. I even reacted this way when I travelled with my father."
"Heh." Trowa responded, and looked at Heero, who was glaring at Doctor J.
"K'so." Heero muttered under his breath.
The jet soon evened out, and Major Lieutenant Rodgers unfastened his restraints. Soon after, all the other pilots un-buckled themselves, and stretched. When they were at the odd angle, their restraints were cutting into their chests and left shoulders, where the neck met the arms, making it hard to breathe, especially for WuFei, who was still shorter than the other pilots. Following Rodgers, they made their way to a cooler that held sandwiches of all varieties and cans of soda. Rodgers gave them a tour of the jet fighter, and then Duo and Quatre ran off to the bathroom. Inside, Duo leaned against the door, and Quatre sat on the tiny sink.
"I can't believe Professor G is here! I can't stand him! I wanted to kill myself and destroy Deathscythe even before Operation Meteor took place, and he had the balls to disarm my bomb, and then go inside of my shirt to pull out my gun! What the fuck!" Duo said, slamming his hands onto the wall.
"I'm sorry, Duo, but I am glad he did, or else I wouldn't of met you, and be loved by you." Quatre said, smiling, and closing his eyes.
"I know. I guess I should thank him for that, but I still won't."
Duo stood in front of Quatre, and wrapped his arms around Quatre's waist. Squeezing Quatre around the waist, he moved his face to look at Quatre's face, and then lowered a chaste kiss to Quatre's lips. Quatre responded back with a kiss, and then said that they should leave, so the others didn't think they were trying to kill themselves in the bathroom.
"We might as well be dead, we already are, as far as everyone else knows."
"I know, Duo, I'm so freaked out about Area 51."
"We'll discuss it out there, away from inquiring minds. We have about four hours before we land in Nevada anyways." (1)
"Indeed. I'm hungry and thirsty. Let's go."
Duo happily agreed to being hungry and thirsty, too. Giving Quatre one last kiss, they walked out of the bathroom, to the cooler. Both boys grabbed a can of Pepsi and a ham sandwich. Making their way to the far corner of the jet, where Heero and Rodgers were holding a conversation, Duo and Quatre sat down, eavesdropping on the conversation at hand. Heero was asking about the plane's stats and such, and Rodgers was giving answers. They listened, somewhat curious, but wishing they'd leave at the same time, so they can discuss Area 51. Trowa came over, and asked if it was ok to talk about Area 51 now that they were away from the public ears and eyes. Rodgers nodded yes to the question and Heero moved off to the cooler, Rodgers following. Litchenberger was conversing with Professor G about the many different types of technologies to power fighter jets, while Doctor J and Doctor S were wondering why they should even be going to Area 51 when they could be at home, dying peacefully. Instructor H and Master O were discussing the many different martial arts techniques out there, while WuFei and Trowa were also discussing Area 51. So everybody had a topic to talk about. Trowa and WuFei were soon making their way to Quatre and Duo, who were talking about their own ideas about Area 51. Trowa sat down next to Duo, and WuFei sat down next to Quatre.
"So, Duo, Quatre. What are your ideas about Area 51?" Trowa asked.
"I think that they keep aliens and alien spacecraft in there. How about you?" Dup replied, then took a bite out of his sandwich.
"I think it's a high-classed air base to try out new fighter jets and technologies." WuFei claimed.
"I think it's where the internet is started at. But then again, it could also be where a different division of the Homeland Security is located at." Quatre replied, also taking a bite from his sandwich.
"I am afraid I am wish WuFei here. I mean, aliens? Duo, honestly. Don't you think we would of seen some while we were in space and on the colonies? Your imagination, I swear. You really like to let it run away with you, don't you?" Trowa asked.
"Pthh. Fuck you, man. Aliens come from Mars and the planets beyond! Colony L5 was still a few billion light years away from Mars! Shows what you know Trowa!"
"Then tell me this, Mr. Scientist Maxwell. How come we never seen them?" Trowa asked, raising his right eyebrow questioningly.
"Well, I don't know! I'm not a fucking rocket scientist! Maybe they're super-shy of our life form and hide from us?" Duo responded, between bites of his sandwich.
Trowa and WuFei let out a small laugh regarding Duo's statement, and Duo turned his nose on them. Quatre laughed at Duo's face, he had his nose scrunched up, and pointed to the ceiling. His braid was resting on his left shoulder, which in turn, brushed with the mayonnaise that fell out of his sandwich. He looked down, and noticed it.
"Fuck. Mayonnaise reeks when you try to wash it out…" Duo said.
"At least it's a little bit… just on the tips…" Quatre said, trying not to laugh.
"Haha. Watch where you're flinging that braid, Duo. I always offered to cut it." Heero replied, scaring Duo.
"Damn you! I wish you'd let someone know you're coming! And no! you are not cutting my hair!" Duo cried out, clutching his hair. "Don't ever suggest it again, Yuy." Duo glared at him.
Heero laughed whole-heartedly at Duo's facial expressions and the way he was clutching his braid like a lifeline. Sitting down next to WuFei, Heero placed his right arm behind WuFei's back, and felt WuFei rest into his arm. Quatre moved over to sit besides Duo, and rested his head on Duo's left shoulder. It was now a half hour into their flight, and they were already bored out of their minds. Every one was just looking at each other, even both Major Lieutenants weren't speaking, and the five scientists were now grabbing something to eat. Trowa got up, and decided he wanted to lie down, he had a headache. WuFei also made claim of a headache, and followed Trowa to where they were sitting, and laid down on the seats. So it left the ten remaining people there, so soak in the silence, and listen to the soft rumble of the B-52's motors run.

End Chapter One.
(1)~Is it at least a four hour trip from New York to Nevada? I dunno. *shrugs* I don't travel anywhere. -_-;;
A/N: I seem to know a little bit about the Air Force, ne? I spent two years of my high school life in Air Force JROTC, and it was the best two years of my life, even if the uniforms bothered me sometimes. -_-V But after we moved, I wasn't able to continue it. We visited Niagara Falls Air Force Base a lot, and it was indeed fun! Colorguard was even more fun. ^^
Also, I am not continuing the plane trip. Too boring, and my mind is starting to run out of ideas. Oo And as always, review please? ^^
