Blood Moon

Chapter 5

We landed in the Forest of Rainbows just as the sun was setting, and the air was cool, and fresh. Heero clutched to the red stone, obviously the Jewel of Blood Moon. I stood next to Heero as he went into the clearing that I remember first seeing him at, in my dreams anyway. It seemed so long since that night, the night that changed everything, I had fallen in love with someone I possibly couldn't love if I left here for home. That, and I couldn't think of not going home. So much to do, so much I had missed, I'd probably been gone for days, maybe even a month now. I wondered if anyone had been looking for me, maybe Trowa, and Quatre had been worried after having not heard from me in such a long time. As we reached the exact spot he had fallen from Heero held up the Jewel of Blood Moon to the sky. "Father, I, your son have returned with the Jewel of Blood Moon, and I have brought Duo, a visitor from another world who would wish to return to his home!", Heero called out.

A great booming voice sounded above us as clouds formed in the sky. "You have done well, my son, you have brought back the Jewel. I welcome you home with open arms.", it said.

A blinding flash of light came, before I opened my eyes and found myself in a white room with a man sitting in a blood red satin chair. The man, who I would've judged to have had been about twenty wore a suit of the same deep blue of his eyes, and a black cloak slung over one shoulder, his brown hair was slicked back. Heero stepped forward and I followed, until Heero's Father, and I were close enough to touch each other if we wanted. "You have done very well Heero.", the man said, pulling back his arm, "And now....",

With a swift motion he sliced though my chest, I heard Heero scream, but couldn't respond. "No! You'll kill him! Why?!", Heero demanded.

I felt him pull something out of my body, and soon, I was floating above the scene. I could see myself laying on the floor, with a fist sized hole where my birthmark had been, a blank look to the eyes that man standing over me with a large blood red ruby type stone in his hands, only it had a faint glow to it. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HIM?!!!!!", Heero yelled.

"Oh, nothing really, just taken the jewel from him.", his Father retorted, holding up his prized possession clutched in his bloodied hand.

"You put that back in him!", Heero yelled, "PUT IT BACK!!!!!!!",

"I can always get you another lover just like him now, Heero, no need for tears.", his Father retorted, "The Jewel of Blood Moon can make anything I desire a reality now.",

Heero lunged at him with his hands glowing, "YOU KILLED HIM YOU BASTARD!!!!", Heero yelled, as he got a hold of his Father's neck.

The skin started to get a sizzling sound, before Heero took his right arm, and drove it right through the man's middle, in the end letting his former creator's corpse drop to the ground. Heero tore the pulsing stone from the dead hand, and turned slowly back to my body. Tears started to flow down his cheeks, as he stepped towards it. "I just want you to be all right, Duo, just be okay....", Heero whispered, placing the Jewel back inside my chest, "Please, don't be dead.",

A warm sensation flooded my body's limbs as the hole started to close, and a falling feeling, and then, darkness. 'He didn't make it on time, this is it.... I'm dead....', I thought, until, I slowly opened my eyes, and found Heero standing over me, his right wing draped over my body. "Hee-ro?", I asked.

"Duo? Duo, you're alive!", Heero happily cheered as he squeezed me.

"Yes, Heero, I've been watching the whole time, though, I think outside of myself.", I explained.

"Oh, Duo!", Heero squeezed me tighter, "But, now you have to return to your own home now, right?",

"Your Father said that the Jewel lets any desire of it's owner come true.", I said, "I desire that I, and Heero can go back in forth between this world, and the world I came from any time I wanted.",

That's exactly what happened too, I went back and forth between worlds and always had Heero by my side in both. I also became one of the best dragon riders know in Heero's world. So, I had finally fulfilled my destiny, and now had my friends, and lover all with me. I seemed to have had lived happily ever after.....
