I clocked in and put my stuff in m y locker. Making my way to the front&nbs p;I can make out Mrs.
Schullerâ€&t rade;s voice. She and the boss are laugh ing.
“Duo!â€

“Do&n bsp;you have a boyfriend yet?†Shaking my head in the negative, she continues. “Good,
well not good, but it is. I want you to meet my nephew. He is a few years older, but a nice
guy.â& euro;
Translation, he is old and ugly.&n bsp;It would probably be illegal to go o ut with him.
“Sorry, but b etween school, the orphanage and work I just don’t have any time.†“It’s okay. If you& nbsp;do get time call me.â€

Once she was&n bsp;gone my boss stood there smiling at me. “What?â€

“Those are very valid reasons.â€
“I& nbsp;didn’t say anything.â€
“Verbally.†I grumbled and he chuckled.
“Duo, I have to leave early today.â€

The bell over the door  ;rang just after 8:50. Looking up I see a very  ;familiar blonde head.
“Hey Qbe an.â€
“Hey Duo.â€&n bsp;
“Oh my god youâ€&trad e;re starting to talk like me. Itâ&euro ;™s about time. Glad to see ya!â& euro;
“I was bored at  ;home and since I said I would visit,&nb sp;well here I am.†If you notice d he
completely ignored my comment about his speech.
We talked for a bit&nb sp;then Q went to the back to get a drink. The bell above the door
ran g.â€Welcome to am/pm gas.â€
“15 on pump 3 †at the sound of the voice I swear I ju mped about a foot. It was Zechs.
Da mn he is hot. He stood there with a smile, obviously finding my startled jump&nb sp;funny.
“Um…rightâ €¦15 on pump 3. Thank you and have a nic e night.†He left to go back to his car
where two&nbs p;girls were waiting. I knew the moment Q made it all the way to the front because
of the laughing.  ;
“You should try out for t he track and field team. The high jump&n bsp;would be your event. All you
would&n bsp;need is Zechs to speak to you.â€
“ Shove it, Q. He startled me. I have  ;never seen him get gas here.â€
“Well,&nb sp;that’s why. Noin and Hilde a re with him. One or both of them live around here.â€
“How do you know?†I was genuinely curious. It had nothing to do with the desire to track
them down and kill them for being with him.
“I hav e classes with Hilde.â€

Shortly after Qbean left.&nb sp;The rest of the night passed pretty q uickly. I had a steady flow of
cust omers all the way up until 10:55. At&nbs p;11:00 I locked up the pumps and closed up the
shop. As I was locking the door I heard an engine pull& nbsp;up behind me. “Sorry, we a re
closed.â€
“I know .â€
Maybe Q is right, I shoul d try out for the track and field t eam. It was Zechs and not only did
I jump, but I dropped the keys as well.â€

“No  ;problem.†I bent down, picked up  ;the keys and locked the door. â€& oelig;What can I do for
you?â€&nbs p;I asked as I walked over to his car.
“N othing, I was driving by and saw you&nbs p;locking up and thought I’d gi ve you a ride home.â€

“Yes, I’m sure.â€
I got in and holy shi t this is a nice car. It was a stick shift and for the entire five minute
drive&nbs p;my eyes were glued to how his hand moved over the gear shift. Let& acirc;€™s just say that it is
a good thing that I had my bag on my& nbsp;lap. We pulled up to the church and as I got out I
said â€& oelig;thank, for the ride.â€

while&nb sp;in a goo state? Well, it’s&n bsp;not easy, let me tell you. I did&nbs p;manage it, however.
