Cat-Boy Mayhem Chapter 6: The Fights
It had been three days since his first meeting with No-Name, and Duo still didn't feel ready to fight the other cat-boy. If only he hadn't had met him, then he wouldn't have lost his confidence. Then again, it was better he knew what he was facing, then going in as a blind man. Either way, today was that day.
He was going to fight this supposed legend, whether he wanted to or not. Thankfully, he got to see his friends before the games started.
"Goodluck my friend," Kurama stated, patting Duo gently on the back. Yusuke then added, "You'll probably need it."
"We'll be cheering for you," Solo then said. The short-chesnut haired cat-boy then looked to his friend Triton, only to find him staring at No-Name(1). The others were just as surprised to see the original of their friend, but it became obvious he wasn't interested in getting to know his clone.
"Hurry up, our owners are calling for us," Zechs interrupted, and this made the others leave the braded cat-boy. The older cat-man still wasn't a friend exactly, but he was getting a little closer to them. Then again, they were the only ones that gave him any real attention.
"You seem to have a lot of friends," No-Name stated calmly.
"Yeah. Do you have any," Duo asked. The other shook his head and explained, "My owner doesn't live in an apartment complex, and I'm just left alone in the house."
"That would explain why you have no social skills. Now I'd say goodluck to you, but I have a feeling I don't need to," the braded one joked.
"You're right. You don't need to," the green-eyed cat-boy replied, and was soon released from his cage, only to go into a small tunnel. But before it closed, he said, "Look to the nine tv screens in front of you. If you wish to see me fight."
"I'll do that," he replied, as the small door shut itself. Looking ahead, he found a large screen made of nine tv sets in front of him by about twenty feet away from him. There was a famaliar looking blonde woman in the center ring, and she started to say, "Hello there! I'm Sally Po! I'll be your announcer for tonight's events!"
"I hope all of you are situated, for the fights are about to begin. All of you know the legendary No-Name, right? But just in case you don't, he's a wild cat-boy who was captured in the tropics. He's also the strong silent type. Now here he is!" Everyone started to cheer, as the supposed legend came out through the tunnel. Then as it quieted down, Sally continued announcing with, "Our first competitor is a wild cat from the mountanious area! Ladies, let me introduce Ryuu!"(2)
There were more cheers, as a cute brown haired boy came out from another tunnel. He had a larger muscular build than No-Name, but kept a blank look on his face just like him.
"Ladies, ladies, quiet down please, and let me explain the rules. You are automatically disqualified if you get out of the ring, or are on the ground for more than ten seconds. Now we all know No-Name here has killed some of his opponents, but he doesn't do that often. In fact, he tries to avoid it, but some cat-boys are just too stubborn to give up. So if you don't want your cat-boy to die, then press the red button to the remote you have been given, and the fight will be ended."
After a few more moments, the blonde woman walked off towards the edge of the ring, and then said, "Now let the fight begin!" Saying that, she then jumped out of the ring, and stood a small distance away.
Both cat-boys stared at one another for a few seconds, just a few, then charged at one another. Ryuu hit No-Name right in the face with his right hand, but he didn't even try to dodge! Instead, he kept his eye on his opponents face, and then surprised him with his right fist. This punch confused him, and made him stumble to the side. It was then the green-eyed cat-boy attacked, and kept hitting him with his right hand.
The other cat blocked the majority of the hits, but they still hurt against his arms. Soon he found himself close to the edge, and started to push back. Concentrating on blocking the right side, and stopping it from hitting, Ryuu did not expect the sudden punch from No-Name's left hand. It was much stronger than any he had received from the right, and with him all ready close to the edge, he fell out of the ring.
"Wow! Was that a quick fight, or what? No-Name is our winner everyone! But don't worry, Ryuu here will get a consolation prize for trying. Now for a five minute break! Anyone who needs to go to the bathroom I suggest you do so now, and in a hurry, for you don't want to miss the next fight!"
Only a few got up to go to the bathroom, while No-Name just sat at his end of the ring, catching his breath. That was a technique he'd probably get to use only once. He was given water to help cool him down, and prepped for the next fight. This time, it was a cat-boy named Ken(3).
Meanwhile, in the stalls, Duo watched in amazement as time and time again, this cat-boy beat his opponents. He observed every technique, every move, and thought of ways to block or hit those moves. Now he really wished he wasn't in this contest. /Good thing I'm number thirteen(4). He'll probably be exhausted when we fight. /
"Hey, Wufei, isn't that Relena over there," Heero asked her Chinese friend.
"Hm? Yeah, she looks confident," Wufei stated after looking to where the dirty blonde girl was. The raven-haired girl, her little sister, and their friends were sitting in middle row in the center seats. Each had their cat-boy sitting next to them as well.
"You think your's will win," Heero asked again.
"I'm not sure right now," was the answer given to her. Now she wished she could undo what she had done, but it was too late. Besides, Duo wasn't too upset. So what this cat-boy was beating every single one of his opponents into bloody pulps. She always had that red button she could press right before the fight even begins. But that would be unfair to her cat-boy.
"Your original can certainly kick ass," Solo whispered to Triton. He understood his friend's fascination with the wild cat-boy, but he wished he would just stop being so silent, and talk to him. He wanted him to pay attention to him, because Triton seemed to be in a trance, and always kept his eye on No-Name. What did he have that Solo didn't have?
"Isn't No-Name amazing??? He's won eleven fights all ready! But now it's time for a real challenge! He's gonna have to fight Relena's wild cat-boy now! Ladies, let me introduce, Trowa!" There were several cheers, and the dirty blonde's smirk got even larger, as her cat-boy hammed up all the attention.
"You're mine you nameless beast," he taunted. Causing the legend to whisper in reply, "By the end of this, I shall have your life."
Confused, Trowa shook it off, and went in for the attack before Sally could even get out of the ring! Needless to say, she sighed in relief that she wouldn't have to say anything, and drank some water as the fight continued.
This cat-boy, unlike others, released his claws, and started to throw his arms out in order to hit No-Name, who kept on defensive.
"No-Name was right, he is no wild cat," Duo muttered under his breath, but kept on watching to see how the fight would turn out. The smaller of the two was able to dodge most of the attacks, but ended up being scratched on his right arm. Leaving him with just his left, which he did use. Only to find that the punches hardly phased him.
Slightly desperate, he released his claws, and scratched the throat of Trowa. He then backed off to give his owner an oppertunity to end the fight. He didn't want to be labeled a killer, but he did want this one to die. He knew this cat-boy was created to fight, and fight only. Also to kill those he fights.
It was then everyone received a shock. For Relena, his owner, was not pressing the button. Instead, she just sat their yawning, and Trowa came running at No-Name again! He received another scratch, only across the chest, and was then forced to scratch back. This time, it left the larger of the two bleeding immensly, and he fell to the ground, dying a slow and painful death.
Even though he was a pathetic cat-boy purposely bred for this, the green-eyed boy still felt sorry for him, and felt anger towards Relena. The one girl who used cat-boys like they were just toys, slaves, or pieces of property for her to have fun with. Glaring, he looked up to the area she was sitting in, and yelled, "Is this what you came to watch?!?"
"To watch your cat-boy die by my hand, and do nothing to stop it!!! I'm not a killer, you are! You're the one who keeps entering in a cat-boy to be killed by me, and you don't ever do anything to stop it! You're the killer!"
There were a lot of gasps, and everyone was so shocked that he was exploding like this. It had been years since No-Name was first introduced to fighting, and only 5 years since he won his first tournament. But everytime he was in a tournament, sure enough, he saw a young girl named Relena, enter in a cat-boy, and he'd die. Now he had had enough!
"I may not have known this cat-boy of yours, for all I know he could've been as cruel and ruthless as you are. But I, in honor of his memory, and so many others you have entered in this contest to die, shall take his name. From now on, I am no longer nameless, because my name is now Trowa!"
It was then his owner came running in, and activated his collar, putting him to sleep instantly. Sally Po was then given a message from the manager of this contest, and announced, "Uh...as shocking as that was, we're gonna have to disqualify No-Name, I mean Trowa, from the contest. Heh, this is a first. And to think, he only had two more fights left. In these turn of events, we're going to have these last two fight each other, and the winner will be our new champion. May I present, Duo! A cat-boy found from just across our security walls!"
/Eh?!? I guess I studied all of his moves for nothing, / the braded cat-boy thought stunned for a moment, but had to crawl through the tunnel none-the-less. To his surprise, he received a lot of cheers. The cat-boy he had to fight looked to be about his size.
"Now let the final match begin," Sally yelled, and got out of the ring. They both stood there, thinking for a moment, then they ran at each other. He'll admint, the other cat-boy was fast, but not fast enough, for Duo easilly jumped over him with a flip. The braded cat-boy then proceeded to hit him in the back of the neck, knocking him out cold.
"Oh my, that was amazing! Too bad we didn't see him fight No-Name! I mean Trowa. With that type of speed, who knows who would've won! Well, I guess Duo is our new champion! Congratulations to whoever owns this fine looking cat-boy! Oh, and for winning one million dollars!"
/Ugh, as if I wasn't popular enough all ready! Now everyone will know me, / he thought sadly. But he was thankful when Wufei came to get him. Though the hug was unexpected.
"I'm so glad you didn't have to go against him," he heard her say. A little embarrased, Duo blushed, but only slightly. Then the rest of his friends greeted him as they started to walk through the halls to retrieve their prize money.
"That was really quick Duo. I never seen you that fast," Solo began to praise. The braded cat-boy merely smiled, but soon noticed Triton's behaviour. He seemed to be deep in thought, and had a sad look in his eyes. Was he really affected by what No-Name, or Trowa, said? And what was with that guy? Taking on the name of someone he called pathetic.
/Maybe he was tired of being nameless, and felt that cat-boy didn't deserve a name like Trowa. Instead, he should've been the nameless beast. If only that one girl weren't so rich! Then he wouldn't have to suffer as much as he has. No, she's not the only reason for all of us being this way. Why are we pets? /
"Hey, you okay," Wufei asked, interrupting his reverie. He nodded yes, but went back to what he was thinking before.

I hope I made our Trowa sound angry enough. If not, oh well, you get the point that he hates Relena with a passion, and no longer his owner so much. Now here are those numbers:
(1) He'll get a name soon, don't worry. Now wouldn't you stare at your original if you knew you were a clone?
(2) Yes, it's Ryuu from Street Fighter. I couldn't think of anyone else that wouldn't absolutely beat Trowa.
(3) Again, yes, it is Ken from Street Fighter. Felt I may as well put him in here.
(4) Technically, when you think about it, 13 isn't quite bad luck, but it isn't quite good luck at either. It's one of those, wow, we're lucky we survived! But we didn't make it to the moon.
