"Thank you so much Foreign Vice Minister Dorlian Winner, but I'm afraid that's all we can do for now. We'll take up from here the first thing tomorrow morning." Relena held her head high and curtsied graciously.
"I understand President M'ki. I only hope that you consider the things that I have focused on here tonight. I do believe it is the best way to solve our initial problems." The balding old man furrowed his brow and said nothing as he bowed and left the room. Once he was gone Relena sighed, almost defeated. "He's never going to agree."
"I don't know about that Relena. I think you actually started to get through to him tonight. Relena smiled at the words and the hands that had begun massaging the tension from her shoulders.
She slowly turned around and leaned upward on her tiptoes and into a kiss. "Heero. You're wonderful."
He returned the kiss, but only briefly. "Not right here. We might be seen." She pulled away from him and cursed. "Let's go then. Quatre is waiting anyway."
~~~~~~~~
Quatre giggled. "Will you stop that? It tickles."
Trowa smiled at the blonde man next to him. "I thought you liked it."
Quatre blushed a little more. "I do, but not now. Oh, there's Relena and Heero." Quatre leaned over and greeted his wife and Heero as they stepped inside the back of the limo. "How'd it go?"
"He's a stubborn man, but Heero seems to think I'm getting through to him, I just don't know."
Quatre reached across the narrow aisle and took his wife's hand and kissed it. "I'm sure you are. You have such elegance and grace, especially in your speech."
Relena giggled sarcastically. "Maybe. But right now I feel like cussing worse than a drunk sailor."
After a rather late and leisurely dinner Quatre and Relena retired to their room. The first thing Relena did was kick off her shoes. "God I hate heels."
Quatre sat down beside her on the bed where she lay with her feet hanging off to the side. He picked up her legs and draped them over his lap and began massaging her feet. "I don't envy what you have to do all day Relena. At least I get to sit in a chair most of the day. Did I tell you our stock raised a little more? Well seems we're still the wealthiest couple around."
She laughed again and draped her arm over her eyes. "Then why can't I find a pair of comfortable shoes? Money cannot buy everything."
Quatre chuckled back and gingerly laid her legs on the bed. "Feel better?"
She removed her arm and looked up at him smiling. "Yes. Thank you. You're to good to me, you know that don't you?"
He leaned over and kissed her lips chastely. "No better than you are to me." He left the side of the bed and headed for the door. "I'm going to be working late in my study tonight. Is that okay?"
She sat up in the bed. "It's no problem. I realize how much work it takes to be the wealthiest man in the universe."
He smiled back at her. "Catch ya later love." She nodded in acknowledgement watching as the door closed behind him. She picked up the phone.
Quatre entered his den, closing and locking the door behind him.
"I was wondering where you were."
He turned to Trowa. "Helping Relena relax. She's had a tough day."
Trowa wrapped his arms around Quatre and kissed his cheek. "But I thought that's what Heero was for."
"Mmm." Quatre replied, turning his head to capture the taller man's lips. "She should be contacting him just about now."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lying on her stomach in the bed Relena began swinging her feet in mid-air. "Where are you Heero? Answer the damned phone won't you?"
"I would if I was at my place."
Relena jumped a little turning her head seeing Heero sitting in the window. "There are these new inventions that just came out Heero. Maybe you've heard of them? They're called doors."
He smirked at her sarcasm and crossed the room to her bed. "So I'm unconventional."
She sat up on her knees and reached for him, pulling him to her. "Lucky me." She sighed as he leaned close being drawn in by her waiting lips.
Heero spoke his lips moving against hers. "So how long do we have?"
She replied in the same manner. "He's cuddled up next to Trowa by now. I'd say a good two hours."
He broke the kiss and in a swift motion flipped Relena over on her back. "Then let's not waste any time then."

At the end of the the first war and Mariemeia's short reign of terror the world was more than desperate for peace. Relena Dorlian not only became the main figurehead of earth, but also in the quest for the peace. At the same time, Quatre Rabeba Winner had become her strongest and most influential supporter using his vast fortune and family connections to assist her in reaching her goals of earth and colony unity. And though, he had never officially thrown his hat into the political arena, he had become the one most associated with the colonies and a trusted defender of colonial rights.
So, in the early days of fledgling peace Relena and Quatre came to work closely together, joined at the hip. They worked so well together and had such an understanding of one another that over the following year the two young blondes had become as important to the people as peace itself. And though no monarchy was ever established, Relena's once known identity had never left, and people still would think of her as Queen of the World, and shortly thereafter, Quatre was finding himself referred by the people as King of the Colonies.
This had led the people to take for granted and believe that the two would eventually marry, thus reassuring the world and the colonies that a continued peace would exist for themselves and future generations.
At first Relena and Quatre tried their best to ignore the rumors and heavy pressure for the two of them to wed, but eventually they conceded, knowing that as physical representations of peace they were just a important if not more than the ideal of peace. And so, in the year A.C. 201 Relena Dorlian married Quatre Rabeba Winnner.

Quatre opened the door to his and Relena's room quietly so as not to disturb her, but he had found she was already awake, straightening the fresh sheets she had just placed on the bed.
"Did you have fun?"
Quatre smiled and began undressing. "Did you?"
Relena giggled opening the door to the master bath. "I just finished drawing a bath for myself. Care to join me?"
"Soaking in a hot tub right now sounds great." He replied following her.
He stood watching for a few seconds as she disrobed and climbed up the three stairs and then back down, submersing her body in a fathom of suds, with only the tops of her shoulders and neatly coifed head showing.
"Whatcha waiting for?"
Quatre merely shrugged his shoulders and within seconds he was in the tub himself, sitting opposite her. His wife noticed saw him flinch when he raised his arm.
"What's wrong?"
Quatre tried to laugh off the pain. "To many late nights in the den. I'm not as limber as Trowa I guess."
"Come here sweetie." He obeyed her command and waded over to her. She turned him around and he sat down on the ivory inner seat, between her spread legs.
He bowed his head and moaned feeling her fingers begin to knead the knots out of his shoulders. "You have wonderful hands Relena."
She laughed a small ha, still continuing to wash and massage his back. "That's what Heero tells me too."
Quatre sniffed a laugh changing the subject. "I've noticed you're looking a little thin. You just pecked at your food tonight."
"I've been to tired and busy to eat much I guess."
"That's no excuse Relena. You can't let yourself get run down and sick."
"You're one to talk mister. Those dark rings around your eyes is not smudged mascara." She rested her chin on his shoulder and wrapped her arms around him. "I guess we both need to get more rest."
Both of their bodies rose with his sigh. "I suppose."
Quatre closed his eyes and leaned his head back against her shoulder as she leaned back against the tub to accommodate him. "You know. We don't always have to have the bed. Why don't you and Trowa take it next time? Heero and I will figure something out."
"That's not necessary really. I think I'll just install a Murphy bed or something in my den." Quatre all of a sudden had to catch his breath as he felt himself being pushed under the water. He popped right back up spitting out suds; he was facing Relena. "What was that for?"
"You don't always have to be so chivalrous. Take the damn bed next time."
He sat back on the opposite side of the tub again, wiping suds out of his face. "Okay, okay. If you're gonna get violent about it."
She neared close to him and began wiping the suds from his face. "I'm sorry." Quatre swallowed slowly as he looked down and noticed her breasts floating almost to the top of the water line and feeling her hardened nipples brush up against his body. "It's just you're such a good person and I feel like I take advantage of that sometimes."
"Believe me. You don't. The ones we're taking advantage of 'is' the People. We're the two most trusted individuals in the known universe and here we're running one of the biggest scams in known history. Doesn't it bother you?"
She averted her eyes from his. "We both knew what we were getting into when we married one another. Besides, It's not exactly a lie Quatre. We do love each other, just not in that way. Right?"
She stared intently into his eyes, he giving her back the same look. She noticed her bent arms were wrapped around his neck and that her hands were smoothing the fine hairs on the nape of that neck. She also took note that his hands were resting on the curve of her rear, his thumbs stroking the small of her back; she felt her body tingling just a bit especially her nipples that were pressed against his smooth wet torso. Moments like these seemed to have been happening quite a lot in the last two months.
She pushed the sensation back into her mind, dropping her arms and stepping away. "Well I don't know about you but I'm going to bed. Big day tomorrow, gotta go negotiate with a brick wall."
Quatre scratched the back of his head. "Yea, sure. I'll clean up in here."
She ascended and descended the stairs quickly wrapping her robe around herself and calling a brief goodnight before leaving the room.
Quatre released the breath he was holding and shook his head. He sank back down in the water until his head was covered. Rising slowly back out he sat down and rested his head on the rim of the tub, trying to clear his mind and figure out the new sensations that had begun to stir in his body when he thought of Relena. For with the exception of their wedding night there relationship had remained platonic and this bath had been no different than any they had ever taken together, wasn't it? Of course it was, he and Relena were buddies and had always had a deep respect and love for one another as any friends had ever had. In fact, if he had to name his best friend, it would be Relena.
He sighed admitting to himself that even though it was Trowa who was his physical lover, it was Relena who kept him going. The two of them had shared secrets and stories that they could never tell anyone else and unlike Trowa she understood, truly understood, the importance of his work and what sacrifices had to be made. And, within the last three years he had come to think of Relena as his life force and Trowa as his release. Trowa was the one he had pledged his heart to and it was Trowa who he loved "in that way." Besides, Relena could never truly love anyone else but Heero. He yawned and looked down at his fingers tips rubbing together the wrinkled skin. "Suppose I should be getting out of here and some rest myself."
After tossing and turning Relena had finally found a halfway comfortable side position to sleep on. She had usually always been one to drop off within seconds but tonight her thoughts were keeping her awake. What she had said to Quatre was the truth, she did love him and knew he loved her, but in friendship only. If it had not been for the pressure of the world and colonies the two of them would never have even ended up together. It was Heero who she belonged with, Heero who she had always wanted and Quatre was just another piece that fit into the jigsaw puzzle of what had become her life as a diplomat.
She quickly closed her eyes hearing the door of the bathroom opening. She desperately tried to mask her breathing as if she were sleeping. Her body bounced just slightly as his weight was added to the mattress, she felt him smoothing a few strands of her hair that had fanned over onto his pillow down her cheek, but his fingers did not leave right away. Her eyes snapped open seeing Quatre's own open eyes gazing back at her. That second in time suddenly seemed frozen still. She blinked removing his hand from her face and back onto his pillow. "Good-night Quatre."
She rolled over to face the wall, her back to him.
"Good-night Relena." He stated softly his body shifting in his own little toss to lie with his back to her.

Trowa accepted the bottle of beer that Heero handed him and sat down beside his friend on one of the stone garden benches. He looked up at the same window Heero had been staring at just in time to see the light flipping off. "What do you think they talk about?"
Heero shrugged in response to Trowa's question. "All I know is that I should be the one sleeping beside her, not Quatre."
Trowa gulped a sip of beer and then lowered his head. "I know what you mean. I think in the last three years I've only gotten to wake up beside Quatre a handful of times. You think the people would have figured it out by now."
Heero snorted. "Even if they have suspected something, nothing is going to wake them from their dream that the two most influential and loved people aren't what they think they are or aren't worthy to sit upon the pedestal they've placed them on."
"Well, I sometimes get sick of waiting in the shadows Heero. Waiting for Quatre to make time for us, playing second fiddle."
Heero looked at Trowa. "I understand completely." He paused finishing his beer and then continued. "You going with him to L4 tomorrow?"
Trowa smiled. "I'm his body guard aren't I? The perfect guise for the perfect ruse."
Heero rose from the bench and stretched. "I'm going to bed. I suggest you get some rest yourself."
"After I finish this." Trowa said, tilting the bottle to his lips.
"Good-night."
"Yea. You too."
