He promptly left the old warehouse where the rave was being held and made his way towards the motorcycles. He stopped by Duo's and quickly disengaged it and wired it so he wouldn't be able to use it. Knowing Duo he would probably be wasted and he didn't want his life hanging over his conscious. Besides he would probably catch a ride with Quatre and Trowa, and knowing Trowa he would make sure Duo didn't ride with him. This thought brought a smirk to his face.

That's what the bastard deserved.

Hopping onto his bike he quickly sped towards the marina where they had docked. He easily snuck in and locked the bike up. Nope no one would even know it had been moved.

Dragging himself up to his room he easily removed the shirt and pants *drool* and climbed into bed. All he wanted was for sleep to claim him once again, but this time it was no where to be found. He was flooded with images of Relena again and couldn't shake them from his head. How could he have lusted for someone that use to be his comrade?

His mind wandered again to four years prior……….

The limo ride to the mansion was as long as ever, he was currently stuck there with his father and other diplomats and their sons. The standard Japanese military uniform he was forced to were was of no help to his current situation of comfort. There was a treaty being signed today between many countries that had unified against terrorism. For some strange reason, some sick individual decided that the diplomats should bring a member of their family to show that they were normal people to the public, making this a friendly convention.

Also making it a living hell for 15 year old Heero Yuy who was Excellency Yuy's only relative.

Climbing up the endless stairs seemed to be a chore and he willed himself to keep up the perfect soldier attitude his father would command.

It was then by luck that the diplomats were ordered into the conference room leaving the guests unattended. He looked around the `party' that he was currently in and found that most had brought their sons, and a few had settled on bringing their wives. All he found were polished and proper, the way every politians family should be.

He took the opportunity to sneak towards the balcony he spotted when he first arrived, and stealthy snuck to it. He relaxed as he closed the doors behind him, leaning over he placed both arms in front to support him and noticed it gave a perfect view of the villa mansion.

He was thinking of how he had managed to get dragged to this in the first place when he heard the doors behind him open quietly and shut. He could tell that this intruder was not a threat by the softness of their actions, but when he saw the figure mimic his pose he was curious as to who had dared interrupt his space.

He was very surprised when he found himself face to face with a lovely face of a girl with honey tresses, ocean blue eyes and a soft smile on her lips.

“So I guess I wasn't the only one who was begging for my death.” She spoke, her voice full of mischievousness, as if she had just found out a secret.

He didn't speak; instead he pulled himself away to better take in this creature. Her hair was neatly pulled back into a low pony tail and she appeared to be wearing a different style of military uniform with white boots to her knees. (Okay people picture the uniform she wears in the series when she's with Noin)

As if she could see the question in his eyes she responded, “It's the style of the Old Cinq Kingdom.”

He raised his left eyebrow and she giggled waving a hand out in front of her, “I'm sorry for being so rude. My name is Relena Doralin, my father is the Foreign Minister of the United States.” She extended her arm and offered her hand to show she was waiting for a response. Reluctantly he placed his hand in hers shaking it, “My name is Heero Yuy, it's a pleasure.” (I love that line) It was all that he needed to say so that he wasn't being rude and yet he wasn't giving away too much information that his father would lecture him about.

He removed his hand from hers and went to his previous position on the rail. He figured that this would end all conversation but was stunned when he saw her starting to climb over the rail to sit on it. Her legs dangled over the edge and he couldn't help but wonder how crazy this girl was. Did she not realize that this was not the proper etiquette for a lady of diplomacy?

“Well that was kind of rude there Heero, I bet you would lighten up if you didn't have to follow all these rules of society that have been placed on us.” Her voice full of mischievousness once again. “So how about it, you want to sneak out?”

He turned to face her, was this girl insane? If anyone found out that they had snuck off from the mansion they were as good as toast. Well, he would anyway. “What you do is none of my concern.” He said again in his monotone voice that was none to be a conversation stopper.

“Alright then, suit yourself.” And with that she returned from hanging over the rail, she then started for the wall and began testing the strength of the vines that clung to the brick wall. She then began removing her jacket and vest which left her in a white button down and her white slacks. Her boots were next to add to the pile and she then began her decent. “This is your last chance,” she taunted as she continued to descend to the ground.

Well by now he had established that this girl was indeed crazy, they were 3 stories up and if she fell it would certainly mean death.

He continued to ignore her but out of the corner of his eye he spotted a loose vine and he knew that was trouble. Sure enough the foolish girl didn't even bother to look down and she was about to fall to her death when she felt a strong hand on her upper arm.

She looked up at him, with a bright and embarrassed smile and the slight blush on her face only added to her glow.

He found that he couldn't look away from her and instead dropped his façade for a moment and smirked. “You're foolish and hasty; if you're not careful you could get yourself hurt.”

Instead of crushing her spirit her eyes seemed to glow with challenge. “Well then Heero, why don't you show me how it's done.”

Yes it was a challenge. A challenge he couldn't turn down. After all what kind of soldier would he be if he allowed a woman to taunt him in this manner? He pulled her arm towards the vine and when she grasped it he leapt over the balcony and easily found a vine and began climbing downward. She easily followed placing her feet in the same spots as he, but had he really wanted to he could have easily leapt from the third story and landed in the correct way to not cause his body physical harm.

Of course having just met the girl he didn't want to freak her out or worse encourage her to do the same.

When he reached the ground, he noticed they were partially guarded by the shrubs surrounding that side of the house but voices from near by alerted him to guards.

Guards. Crap of course these things were guarded, heavily guarded in fact. And now he was on the outside, with Evil Caneyville wanna be. Great, just great.

He turned around to see how she was doing when suddenly he fell under the weight of the girl. Apparently she had lost her footing again and now here they were behind the shrubs tangled limbs and her trying to not laugh her ass off. Her silent giggling only led him to believe that she had practiced that growing up so that she was still able to laugh in the most inappropriate of places.

He detangled himself from her and she sat on the ground beside him, “Wow, I guess you're not so boring after all.” She whispered as she stuck her head out of the shrubs to see the other side.

Satisfied with the information she turned back to her accomplice. “There are only 4 guards that means there's only 1 on the south wing, that's where we need to go.” He was once again at loss of words; this girl was full of surprises. How did she know all of this?

He nodded and they began their escape route for the southern wing, and then to the villa behind the mansion. Once out of `danger' she busted out laughing again her eyes full of a joy he couldn't begin to express.

“That was amazing! You know that in all of my years in escaping I have NEVER found someone crazy enough to join me?” her voice full of excitement as she twirled around the rows of grapes. She stopped before reaching out to pull him along, “We have to leave here, if their security plans are the same ones I hacked into last nigh they're going to have someone patrolling this perimeter.” Smiling she turned to him before winking, “Come on you haven't even seen the best part yet.”

Now he was just plainly confused. How in the hell did this happy go lucky daughter of the Foreign Minister know about hacking and well….soldier talk?

He blindly followed her until they reached the end of the estate; there was a huge magnolia tree and an old tire swing which seemed entirely out of place.

“So Mr. Yuy,” she goaded, “do you speak at all?” She batted her lashed for good measure before she ran to the swing and set it into motion.

For some strange reason, he felt as if though he could actually talk to this girl. It hadn't been but thirty minutes and already he had told her about his father's strictness and his dreams of going to the U.S military to earn his own rank.

In turn he had found out that she was only the adoptive daughter of Doralin and her real father was the ruler of Cinq Kingdom and had a brother named Milliardo Peacecraft who filled her in on how to hack and keep herself safe. Apparently Mr. Doralin didn't want anyone to know about her real origin and had tried to keep all contact with Milliardo supervised but Milliardo was a specialized agent and always found the time to help out his litter sister; which explained her hacking abilities and soldier lingo.

He found that he could actually relate to her when she started talking about her controlling father. He tried not to psychologically analyze her, but he found that her father must be abusive as well, which led to her rebellious behavior and attitude.

Glancing down at her watch she let out a dramatic sigh. “Well it look as if though they're about to release our dads. We have about 5 minutes to sneak back in. Do you think we can manage that?” She asked her voice laced in kindness and yet challenging.

Truth be told that wasn't possible, but for him, it was definitely doable. He smirked as he responded, “Mission accepted.” She let out a laugh before she found herself being carried bridal style through the villa. “Heero! I can do it on my own!” she shouted even though she was on the verge of laughter as she tightened her hold on him.

“You'll only slow me down.” He said as he ran at a breakneck speed towards the mansion. They managed to get to the familiar shrubs and he glanced back at her. “How much time do we have?”

“We have approximately 1 minute soldier.”

He quickly threw her over his back before he started climbing. They were there in less than 10 seconds and when he put her back on her feet she swooned. His perfect reaction time reached out and settled her before she could fall.

“Thanks, it was just a blood rush,” she said as she quickly began piling on her uniform. Once dressed she made sure everything was in place before she reached out her arm to link with his and asked, “Are you ready to go back to the den?”

And so it had begun, she had somehow managed to get a hold of his email address and began writing to him. They would figure out the perfect escape plan to the next conference that gave them the most free time and less % of getting caught.

And strangely he found himself looking forward to the conferences and found he was rebelling more against his father.

His father had demanded to know what had possed him to change so much but of course he never answered, which ended up getting him personal bodyguards and few good punches to his face.

That unfortunate situation caused him to not be allowed to go with his father. Relena was not pleased at all and managed to scheme her way out of going as well, telling her father it was `women troubles'. They ended up instant messaging the entire day and when his father returned he quickly shut his lap top and pretend to be asleep. Once his dad had done his routinely check up he opened his laptop again and began encrypting the files of their conversations so that his father wouldn't be able to find them.

Soon after that they began to see each other whenever one of their parents was out of the country. It had been mostly him considering he could fly his own jet to see her, or if her dad and she were in Japan he would simply ride over to her hotel and pick her up in an alley.

Time seemed to fly and now they were approaching 17. It was at this time that his father found out about Relena. He didn't know how or why he was so upset but it didn't matter. He threatened Relena and now he was now at a full blown rebellion against his father and it ended him in the emergency room. So he ran away for a few days, deciding to check up on Relena in the states.

They met at a museum and then headed off for the beach. It was during this time that he told her of his next plan to rebel against his father. He was moving to America. She was ecstatic at first and began making plans of them going to college together. But whenever he told her of the situation she instantly began crying. “So what does this mean?”

“I won't let him hurt you Relena,” was all he could say. He couldn't make himself tell her that she was in great danger or that he wouldn't be able to see her for a while, or that maybe it was for the best.

She seemed to understand and after spending the night on the beach talking of foolish things that could never be she seemed to actually be okay. After all she was a strong girl, she just made herself seem otherwise to let people think of her as a non threat and overlook her.

That morning when they parted, he couldn't believe he had let himself get so soft. Here he was completely distraught at never being able to see this girl that had become his best friend and accomplice against the world.

He hugged her as he dropped her off at home. When she made a movement to take off his jacket he pulled it tighter against her body. He whispered, “Take care.” Before he hopped on his bike and started to make a new life.

A life without Relena Peacecraft.
