Author's notes:
;_; Sorry for taking so long. This one had already been in my hard drive for quite a few months since I wanted to write more and not end abruptly... I think now is the time to say that I've no idea how tho end this chapter. I felt like keeping everyone hanging around.

Quatre put on a pair of glasses and tapped rapidly on the keyboard. The many screens in front of him had various views of one of the many skyscrapers in town either inside or outside.
"Target is ahead of us for just about 80 m in the East wing," Quatre said as he pressed the cordless earphone against his ear.
One of the screens showed the blueprints of the skyscraper. The height and width of the building were given notice at the end of the right. A compass was also shown at the other end of the right of the screen. The building was standing eastwards, facing the opposite direction of the sunrise. The satellite took a better look at the building.
"Security will be jammed just about...," Quatre stared at one of the screens where the computer was loading up a sudden action. The computer showed a message that their action had been completed.
"Now," Quatre smirked and clasped his fingers over his mouth.
"The target is trapped," He stared at the blue shadow walking through various halls and on various stairs. Most red figures were running up and down in level 45.
*~*~*~*~
Security guards stared blankly at the screens in front of them.
What happened to their screens? The screen was showing a bunch of jumbled words and numbers.
They began to hit any button near the security system, but the screen didn't change. There must have been a bug or virus in their computers. They panicked involuntarily...
*~*~*~*~
Someone stepped into an elevator. He was wearing a pair of sunglasses as he adjusted his costume in front of the metal. A large coat was draped over his shoulders, hiding various things under the coat. He let his white gloves cling onto his skin and took out a small case. The small case contained a pair of contact lenses and fake teeth. Thanks to the metal of the elevator, he succeeded in disguising himself as one of the partygoers from the skyscrapers.
He pressed against the cordless earphone.
"Jam the security system!," He grunted and smeared some fake red liquid on either corners of his mouth.
"Security will be jammed just about.... NOW!," He heard Quatre said and the elevator's door opened.
At the very top of this particular skyscraper, the head of the company was throwing a costume party. The whole room was decorated with various lighting, darkish robes and some chains with dead mice were hanging from the ceiling. Everyone seemed to be in the very dark mood, because most of the partygoers were witches with broken or pointy noses. Other than witches, there were goblins and other gothic-looking creatures or characters. A few lighter ones were the princesses, angels and faeries.
//What has this world become? It's not even some kind of Halloween party.// he thought and entered the party room. Darkish creepy lights flashed around and he could see that some of the partygoers had occupied the dancing space. A very moody-like music was played out loudly and it wasn't that bad actually. It brings the dark mood livelier than just very dark music.
"Ah...finally a Vampire!," one of the partygoers grinned and patted him on his back.
He smiled and showed his teeth. The cold expression on his face with the teeth also made him one of the most gothic-looking 'guests'. His penetrating gaze was like lightning flashes through the room and most of the guests liked the look. They squealed in delight.
"And of course blood WILL be spilled over this place," Heero murmured under his breath and pushed himself away from all that attention. He adjusted himself in the dancing area. He just moved around, swinging his large coat a few times, giving anyone the expression that the Vampire was searching for his prey and showing his teeth off or even doing some kind of darkish Vampire dance.
"Target is near you, about 10 m," wearing something like a dog-thing," Quatre's voice rang through the earphone.
Heero's eyes snapped attentively and roamed through the room. He looked over various partygoers and finally spotted a dog-like partygoer.
"Target locked," Heero whispered as the lights began to flash irritatingly. Heero's eyes never wavered from their target. The target was wearing something like an Egyptian robe and had a dog mask on.
//One of the well-known gods of Egypt was also being used here, eh?//
Like a shadow moving with its owner, Heero danced through the dance floor, trying to get near his target.
"You're getting hot, onii-chan," he heard Quatre chuckled and smirked.
Loud music played its way through Heero's ears as these irritating flashing lights made Heero more 'hungry'. He can only free himself from hunger by killing his target first. He grabbed one of his hidden weapons as he danced near the target, swinging his body nearer and adjusting himself to the 'dark' dances he slowly placed his gun near the target's back.
Quatre drank his soda through a straw and ticked on the Enter tab of his keyboard. He awaited the mission to be completed as soon as possible and leaned closer on his desk to take a good look at the so-called mission screen from where he could record the death scene of their targets.
The whole room darkened and everyone gasped. Heero grabbed his target tightly and pulled the triggers of the gun. The triggers ran through the body, but the victim didn't make a sound not even the gun. Heero had made sure the target didn't make any sound. His target was first paralyzed just by using a few pushes on the victim's blood streams.
As soon as his target's body fell limp, he hid the gun and jumped away from the dance floor.
The lights were back on and various screams can be heard from the dance floor, the crowd panicked helplessly. Heero had made his way out of the room without anyone noticing him, climbing out a window.
"Mission accomplished," he smirked as he climbed up towards the roof. The cool night breeze brushed past his face and messed his hair up.
"Onii-chan. Do you know how sexy you looked when you were imposing a vampire a minute ago," Quatre teased through the earphone and Heero growled.
He should have chosen something simple like that Frankenstein costume or something. But Quatre had insisted on imposing as count Dracula. According to him, a vampire lunged for blood because it's his food source. He'd pointed out that since he was an assassin, he always seemed to hunger for letting everyone of his victim's blood flow.
"No more video recording for you this whole week, Quatre!," Heero growled as he pushed on a button from his belt. A rope shot out and tightened around the building's pipe from the other side of the road.
"What?! Not fair!," Quatre pouted as he crossed his arms and puffed his chest.
"Then we should postpone the next few missions to next week. Because we always record your assassination,"
Quatre glanced briefly at the calendar and his eyes fell on number eleven.
He'd used a red mark pen to encircle that day, because that's his brother's birthday. He wanted to do something special on his brother's 29th birthday. But as always his brother was simple and he doesn't have to go find very expensive gifts for his brother.
Heero's smirk faltered as he jumped from the building. If his brother were going to postpone those missions for next week then he'll get such a tight schedule that he'll have no time for some rest.
"All right. All right. You can record the next missions this week. Don't postpone them! On one condition...," Heero said as his body was hanging near the skyscraper across the one from where he came from.
"What? What? Just say it!," Quatre's voice echoed through the earphone and Heero winced.
"Give me tonight's video!," Heero climbed up the building slowly and could hear Quatre cursing on the other end of the line.
"Okay! Okay! Just get back here safely. The police is almost near!," Quatre huffed through the earphone as Heero took off his coat and bloodied gloves. He spit out the teeth, took off the contact lenses and the wig.
"Great costume," Heero murmured and threw a lit match at the heap of so-called evidence of their target's death.
Heero walked to a nearby stairs and made his way to the ultimate level of the skyscraper while a small fire burnt everything which Heero had left.
Quatre pulled the earphone away and took the video cassette out of the VCR.
"But I can always have a copy...," Quatre smirked as he took another video cassette and placed it in the VCR. He tapped a few keys on his keyboard and the computer began to fill in the whole recording in that video cassette. As soon as the recording is done he hid the cassette in his jacket and cut the connection with their satellite. The various skyscraper's scenes disappeared and were replaced by bouncing figures, a screensaver.
Someone called and this caught Quatre's attention, he'd never given anyone his home telephone except maybe the bakery. They must've found their number in police records or something. He looked at the telephone with narrowing eyes and let the answer-machine do its magic. It was first of course a monotonous speech of his big brother's voice and then the caller's turn. Quatre pushed himself near the telephone and glared at it as if the caller would just hang up quickly. To his greatest surprise it was a phone for his brother and for once it wasn't their latest missions.
"Hey, it's me, Duo. I'm kinda busy now so I'll keep this message short and abstract. are you free Saturday night? I mean, I am and I was wondering if you can meet me at the candy store where we used to visit. Okay, I've got to go...my work, you know. Please call me back and tell me you've got my message or you can always keep it to yourself and I'll see you on Saturday. Bye!,"
Quatre blinked at the phone.
"Duo? Isn't that the famous singer Duo Maxwell?," Quatre wondered as he scratched the back of his ear.
//Onii-chan used to go to a candy store with Duo Maxwell? The Duo Maxwell? He knows him?! Wow, that's so cool //And...// Quatre rubbed his chin and grinned mischievously. // Does onii-chan like Duo Maxwell? Did he like him first or was it the other way around? //
"What's wrong?," Heero asked as he walked into the room. He pulled out a chair and sat across Quatre who was grinning.
"The video," He opened his hand in front of Quatre's grinning face. The latter rolled his eyes and put the video cassette in Heero's hand.
"What are you grinning about?," Heero glared at his brother, who couldn't help but snicker. Heero took the video cassette and put it away in his jacket.
"There's a call for you a minute ago," Quatre grinned and passed the telephone to his brother.
"Who's it from?," Heero glared at the telephone and was expecting another one of their so-called bosses to be the one who'd called.
"One famous name: Duo Maxwell!," Quatre's grin broadened. "Onii-chan! I didn't know you knew the Duo Maxwell! Why didn't you tell me? I've a lot of his albums and you didn't even utter a word about you knowing him! That's not nice," Quatre added dramatically as Heero's eyes widened. He was quite surprised about the caller. Why would Duo call him?
He could've called him through his cellular. It could've be easier and then Quatre couldn't have known the message. He suddenly felt a sick feeling in his gut, what if it's like in the old days when Duo was very playful. Heero was deep in thoughts, never hearing anything what Quatre had just said.
~//~
It was during my exam final class that year. The school had organized a school trip for us students after having a hard period of studying.
We went to a nature resort place and that's where I've met Duo. He was a cousin of one of my friends and was quite playful.
He always says that's because he wanted to enjoy life. After having such a rush period of going through his exams.
He said he needed to be rewarded for his hard work and that's why he didn't have worried for the finals. He and I became friends eventually, because he was the one who seemed so interested in talking with me about various subjects. Either about my boring life or his lonely life. He'd always commented that I was too up tight and so brought me to a high hill where we lie on the grass and glanced at he sky.
"Heero...," "Hm?," "Close your eyes and tell me what you see," A young-looking Heero did as he was told and stayed silent for a while. "I see... my heart, beating its drum and various blooming flowers...,"
A young-looking Duo blinked at Heero and smirked. "You're relaxing!,"
Heero opened his eyes and looked at the sky.
"I guess I am. I can hear my heart in this silence... what about you? What do you see?," Duo looked back at the sky and closed his eyes. He heard the birds singing their hearts out. The heavy sense of spring came through his nostrils and the warm sunlight tickled his face.
"I see... love. It's in the air. The birds, the flowers, the whole nature," Duo smiled as he felt himself opening up for nature's beauty. He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. "How can you see love?," Heero asked as he looked at the floating clouds.
"Well... you don't SEE love, you just...just do. I don't know. It just comes out like that," Duo said and tried his hardest to explain what he wanted to mean.
He leaned on his right elbow and used his hand palm to support his head. "Let's just say it's like the nature's beauty. It lives and then wither, but love never dies. You know what I mean?," Duo said as he played with the grass and looked at Heero.
"Does it look like that?," Heero asked and Duo sighed exasperatedly.
"Like I said, you can't SEE love, you just do when it's in the air. It doesn't have a shape or form to be recognized. It's just like a floating cloud. It floats across the sky and disappears in the horizon. You know, it's almost like a chance. You just need to grab it and don't let go, because love might not be that good to you," Duo explained as he picked away the sticking grasses from Heero's uniform absentmindedly.
"You're talking in riddles again. Duo, you know I'm realistic so I don't quite understand what you want to tell me-," Heero said as he kept his eyes on the sky. The sun tried to break his gaze and Heero blinked a few times.
Duo's face came over his face, hiding the sun from Heero's sensitive eyes and casting a shadow over Heero's face.
"Better?," Duo asked. "Yes, better thank you. I could've blind myself there," Heero smiled gratefully.
Heero looked confused at Duo, whose face held a neutral expression. He wondered what was wrong. Duo's eyes were pleading instead of playful teasing around. There was no goofy grin on his face, just a thin line of his closed lips.
"You still don't get it?," Duo's expression darkened, which surprised Heero. He blinked stupidly at Duo as he felt something was going to happen. The back of his mind warned him several times, but he ignored them. He knew Duo wasn't going to play a prank on him. He knew Duo's expression wouldn't be so strange like this one if it was a prank.
"What's wrong?," Concern was evidently written on both Heero's face and his words as he blinked at Duo. Duo's gaze never faltered as he used his pleading cobalt blue eyes to penetrate Heero's eyes.
Before Heero could ask again, Duo leaned down and brushed his lips against Heero's. Heero's eyes widened as Duo was pouring down everything through this kiss. He was opening himself in front of Heero. The one he trusted with everything he owned. It shocked Heero that Duo exposed himself right in front of him just by one simple kiss.
Duo pulled back because of the lack of oxygen. His face seemed satisfied and flushed as he panted out a few apologies. Heero was too stunned to register the whole explaining down why Duo had kissed him. Evident was that Duo had liked Heero very, very much before he'd met him that day.
Duo confessed that he was a so-called silent admirer behind Heero's back and had always looked up to him as an idol because of Heero's many talents. [1]
~//~
It was all foreign to me back then. I was too confused about what my feelings were trying to tell me. Duo was understanding enough to give me enough time to think. He'd even began spacing around after our exams.
I'd promised him to give him my honest confession some day. But something awful had happened afterwards... something had happened to my family, which had changed my life forever.

*~*~*~*~*
Trowa and Meiran were just following a guard, who led them to level 59. Trowa was investigating on Mr.Foul's assassination and so went to Mr.Foul's work to check out himself. Sometimes superiors can ignore a lot of important stuff.
"Here we've the elevator which leads to Mr.Foul's private wing. It's restricted for outsiders and...," the guard explained as Trowa and Meiran nodded.
"Could we stop for a second? I need to go to the lady's room," Meiran said suddenly.
"Where is it anyways Mr... uh... Jefferson?," The guard nodded.
"Just go round that corner to the left,"
"Thanks," Meiran mumbled and head for the lady's room.
Trowa stuck his hands in his pockets as the guard began to shift uncomfortably. The tall officer's penetrating eyes were creepy and gave the guard the impression of hawk's eyes.
The security guards received and unexpected call from the hospital. They contacted Mr.Jefferson...
"Yes... what?!... Okay... okay...," Trowa raised an eyebrow at him.
"Is there something wrong, officer?,"
"One of my family members are at the hospital. You stay right here while I'll go check on them!," the security guard blurted out. His body language is already showing signs of panic.
"Give them my regards," Trowa said. The guard nodded gratefully and hopped into a nearby elevator.
"You did that on purpose," Trowa said as he turned around.
"Well yeah... piece of cake," Meiran smirked triumphantly.
"Good, but you aren't supposed to give him some heart-attack," Trowa pulled his hands out of his pockets.
"Aa what the heck? That will take him longer to stay away from here," Meiran puffed her chest.
"Hm. Let's go!," Trowa nodded as both of them stepped into the private elevator which lead them to Mr.Foul's private wing.
A few minutes later they went through one of the recently deceased of Mr.Foul's private officers. Meiran checked the whole desk carefully while Trowa went through Mr.Foul's computer.
"I believe if Mr.Foul is gone he should've passed the business down to someone. His private files couldn't be hacked open by now since Mr.Foul had set up several securities in every 'door'. A hacker like the famous Computer Angel would have... huh?," Trowa explained and suddenly blinked in confusion.
"What's wrong?," Meiran moved towards him to look at the screen.
"The security had been cracked open recently... the codes are changed. Someone must have discovered his work. Who took over the company after mr.Foul's death?," "His brother of course, it's like a family company," Trowa narrowed his eyes in concentration and crossed his arms over his chest.
"It doesn't make any sense now...'
"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Whoever pulled that joke is dead," Mr.Jefferson cursed as he walked into an elevator, heading back to level 59. There was some occupants in the elevator and they glared at him.
"Uhm... g-good morning, Mr.Foul," the security guard said nervously.
"What are you doing here?," Mr.Foul asked.
'I'm going back to level 59, sir... Officer Barton and his partner are there, sir!," Mr.Jefferson stammered.
"Idiot! They might be snooping around our stuff!," Mr.Foul scolded.
