Sorry it took so long for me to update… the earlier chapters weren't as good as I whish they were so I stopped writing to get rid of that awful writer's block…
* Once again, review me people! P.l.e.a.s.e! I got only one review for my previous chapter (I know, it was crappy but…) I'm a greedy author!
Thank you for reading, hope you have a good time!
Oh yeah… warning for rape…
Crushing Waves
He'd been having a very nice dream about Trowa when his mobile rang, at first he thought it to be his husband, but as he checked the phone identifier he saw it was an unidentified number.
“Chang here” he answered sleepily.
“Fei…” a weak voice whispered his name.
“Duo!!” He woke up at once, “Duo is that you? What happened, where are you? Are you all right?” He choked on his questions.
“Fei… please, not now… I need…” Duo paused and Wufei heard some coughing on the background. “I need… can you pick me up?” he asked shyly.
“Of course! Where are you?” Wufei was struggling to hold back his panic; he'd not heard Duo's voice as weak and faulty since the wars…
“I… not sure…” Duo was quiet for a moment and Wufei knew he was checking on his surroundings, “Downtown… there's… a mall nearby, I can't see anything else that would help you…”
“Duo, there're hundreds of malls in this city, try to be more specific” Wufei was frantic; he was dressing and walking away from his room even as he spoke to his friend. He grabbed Trowa's car keys and rushed outside leaving a note for Quatre to find if he wasn't back by morning.
“I…” Duo sounded tired, “I can't Fei, everything is blacking out… I…” There was a long pause and Wufei despaired, he had no idea where he was to go and he thought Duo had passed out; he tried to listen to the noisy background on the phone to see if he picked up anything useful.
“Duo… Duo…” He kept calling until the boy answered, “Fei…?”
“Yes Maxwell, that's me. Now, report your surroundings to me 02 and try to be specific, I'm trying not to fail on a mission here!” He barked suddenly, realizing there was no how to accomplish this unless Duo did his part and digging the soldier out of him was the only way.
“Oh… roger!” the American answered and Wufei felt relief wash through him as Duo started giving him a clear picture of the place he was in.
Wufei sped up and was there in no time, he only turned the phone off when his friend was already on earshot of him, “Duo!” he called and raced to the phone boot where he could see the laying figure of a man.
Duo turned around surprised and tried to smile at him, but he collapsed as soon as Wufei had his arms around the man, “Safe…” he muttered, just before passing out.
“Oh gods…” Wufei whispered as he took in the battered state of his friend, Duo was smeared in blood and even in the deem light of the street lamps Wufei could see bruises all over his friend's body, “What happened to you?”
Wufei was at a loss as he picked Duo's slack body of the ground and carried him to Trowa's car. He had some trouble putting an unconscious Duo on the passenger seat, but after some struggle the boy was safely buckled on the reclined seat.
Duo did not wake up on the ride to the Winner-Peacecraft state and neither did he stir when Wufei lowered him to bed. When the lights were turned on the Chinese man had to hold his breath, he'd not realized the extent of the damage done to his friend until the full paleness of his skin reached his eyes.
Duo's lips were almost blue from cold and his clothes were mere taters, not hiding his many bruises, much less protecting him from the cold night. Wufei kneeled by the bed with a med kit beside him and started peeling Duo's clothes off. He had a warm cloth on his hands, which he used to clean the dried blood from his friends skin. There were cuts and bruises all over, the angry purple standing out on Duo's marble white skin. When Wufei had finished cleaning and patching the wounds on his friend's torso it was time to remove his trousers.
He had no problem with his chore until he noticed a bloody spot on the denim he was wearing. A still wet stain that by its location was the telltale of what, in Wufei's opinion, was the most frightening thing in the world.
“Please let this not be true…” he pleaded already feeling the tears reach his eyes. His throat was dry as he opened the fly and pulled the once blue denim off of Duo's body.
“Oh god!” he choked out, “Oh Nataku… why? Why did this happen…?” He was shaking and crying in earnest as the real damage caused to his friend was revealed. Wufei washed and cleaned it all even though his nonstop tears blurred his vision at times. As he was finished, he dressed Duo in one of his spare pajamas and started to carefully change the bloody sheets without disturbing his friend.

The sun was already rising when Duo finally opened his eyes, he blinked dumbly for a second or two, until he tried to move and the pain washed through his body. The forming smile disappeared from his lips and seriousness settled on his face.
“Tell me it was an overeager Heero that did this to you…” Wufei whispered quietly from the window. He'd been facing away from Duo, but he could sense the boy was awake even though he hadn't opened his eyes yet.
“That would be much easier to deal with, wouldn't it?” the American replied bitterly.
“Hm…”
There was silence for a while.
“How did this happen?” Wufei asked quietly, he turned to face his friend. Duo was toying with his braid, it was filthy but Wufei hadn't touched it, he didn't think he had the right; Duo's hair was almost sacred after all… The boy frowned, “Why didn't you wash it?” he asked mildly, but Wufei could feel the hurt in his voice. It took him aback.
“I'm sorry… I though… I… I didn't think I had the right to…” he mumbled, looking away again.
“Well can you?” Duo lifted the end of it and wrinkled his nose, “I can't stand looking at it like this… I would wash it, but you know, they kind of put me out of commission…”
Wufei gave Duo an almost smile and acknowledged his request. He felt honored to be allowed to touch his friend's hair and felt bothered at the same time, how could Duo be so vain when they obviously had so much to talk about?
“Duo…” he started.
“Not now Fei. I know, we have to talk, but please leave it to after my hair is clean… Believe me, I have my reasons to it…”
Wufei accepted Duo's plea and proceeded to help him to sit down; he couldn't possibly take to boy to the bathroom, he had just stitched some of the wounds and walking would make Duo's… lower parts… bleed again, Oh fuck… Wufei thought.
He brought a shallow basin filled with warm water and shifted Duo until he lay with his hair hanging from the rim of the bed, he started washing the long hair slowly, minding for the tangles and the dried blood. After several trips to the bathroom to refill the basin with clean water and a couple of hours later he was done, the chestnut strands spilled in front of him as he dried them with the hairdryer and started braiding them once he was over.
Tying the end of the rope like hair with one of his own bands Wufei sighed and let it fall on Duo's lap and the boy moved again to sit on the bed, he'd almost fallen asleep during the whole process.
Wufei was so tired and his arms were hurting but he didn't miss the tears on his friend's eyes, “Duo…” he whispered, reaching out to hold the American's hand and comfort him.
“You know Fei… I was thinking…” The Chinese didn't answer but nodded to encourage Duo to keep on talking, it was… strange, when the American was usually a chatterbox.
“You are the first person I've let touch my hair besides Heero…”
“And I'm honored” Wufei bowed lightly to acknowledge his understanding.
“I'm sorry I had to ask this of you… it's just that… the hair… I mean… they used it to…” A painful sob fought its way out Duo's throat and the boy sunk his face in Wufei's shirt.
Wufei wrapped his arms around Duo and started rocking lightly, “It's all right… you don't have to tell me if you don't want to…” he soothed.
“Oh Fei…” Duo tightened his clasp, “I don't ever want to tell this… to anybody… but…. I need to… and you are the only person I can think of… “
“Why did this happen Duo?”
“I… I'm not sure Fei. I… we… Heero and I… we had a fight… I mean, it was nothing serious at first, but then Relena stepped in and everything got messy” Wufei nodded and gave time to Duo to control his sobbing a little, his tears were starting to soak through his shirt. “When she saw us arguing she went nuts… I mean, she thought Heero was leaving me for her! Really, that girl is delusional… anyway, Heero told her rather roughly that he'd never leave me for her, or anyone else for that matter… not even if I were dead… he'd still lo… love me”
“Hm” Wufei nodded approvingly.
“She shot Heero and angry look and exited the room… I… well, after what Heero had just said I asked if I could go home… I was tired and I didn't want to keep arguing. Heero agreed and I went home, he wanted to drive me but I was still a little mad at him so I said no, which was stupid because when I got home I had the feeling that there's someone there…”
“I saw a blurry figure approaching me from the corner of the room and prepared to fight… but I haven't done this in such a long time and I really wasn't in the mood, I was tired, I just wanted to rest… then I got caught, the figure went for my face and I fell for the old “chloroform in the cloth” trick… After that, everything is a little fuzzy, I remember felling dumb when I woke up… and then, there were these people… they said that what they're doing was in order to revenge their Queen that had been humiliated by me… they said that my very existence was sinful and that I was to die, if not from the wounds they'd inflict on me, then from my shame”
Wufei fought to remain quiet but his stomach was revolting on the mere thought of such fanatic people.
“I tried to fight them… I really did, but they threatened Heero” Duo laughed a bitter laugh, “I know it's ridiculous, Heero can take care of himself much better than I was ever capable of… but he's my mate… I love him… I couldn't I just… I… and when I stilled they raped me… there were five of them and they took turns, everywhere!” Duo was shaking and sobbing so hard Wufei thought his lungs might just give in on the abuse.
“I can't Wu… I just… I… they, they left my in that alley… to die… they sad so… I was so frightened… I didn't want anybody to see me like that… covered on their filthy seed… so I called you… I thought that if I was to die at least I could trust you to clean to body and…”
“Shh Duo… you're not dead…” Wufei soothed and patted Duo's hair.
“I whish I were…” The braided man whispered brokenly.
“No! Duo, you can't! What about Heero? Would you just leave him without a fight and cause him that much pain?”
“Don't you see Fei?” Duo shook his head, “That's the reason why I called you… you and not him… I don't think I can see him anymore… I wouldn't be able to face him… look him in the eye…” Duo's voice was barely a whisper and his purple eyes were devoid of all life, he was staring lifelessly at the wall opposite to Wufei.
“Duo! Listen to yourself! You don't mean this, it wasn't your fault! It was those men, it was Relena's!” Wufei reasoned angrily.
“Oh but it was Fei… if I hadn't given up on my training… but I hated the war so much! Once it was over I swore I wouldn't be a soldier anymore… it was so hard… to all of us… but in the end, I shouldn't have given up… if I hadn't I'd have had the strength to fight those men…”
Wufei couldn't control his own tears, and his own sobbing and his damned anger at his friend; he snapped and smacked Duo on the face right before he ran to the bathroom to hide his oncoming pain attack.
“Duo no baka!” he shouted before locking the door.
