Don't be There
Don't be there
'Cause I'm on my way
"Heero!" Kitana screamed she dashed to his side, gun shot to the abdomen. Duo dashed after her, grabbing her swiftly he pulled her screaming hysterical self off Heero's limp body. It seemed all in slow motion, Heero lay motionless, his face pale from the puddle of blood rushing off his soulless body.
Duo struggled to hold Kitana back. She was screaming like he'd never heard before, and her limbs where smacking his body in a million different areas. Holding her back wasn't what she need. Not what Duo need. Duo yelled at Kitana.
"SHUT UP KIT!! HE'S DEAD!"
And I'm already gone over
And I'm on my way
Kitana feel still in Duo's arms, her eyes swollen along with a few bloody marks on her lip, and face from an earlier fight. But her eyes were untouched before seeing Heero. His shirt became stained with the blood only the devil could supply to the heartless bastard. But she loved him. She loved him the only way she knew, the only way he knew.
And I can't recall myself
How I went down
Did I get shot
Or shoot myself
Kit fell to her knees, and crossing her arms, she eyed Heero, never flinching her vision while Duo walked over to the body and gazed over his wounds. Kit just watched, figuring that screaming affected nothing. Duo leaned over, and picked up the body, then just walked away. Leaving Kitana on her knees staring where the blood piled together mixing with the elements collected on the concrete.
"He took my bullet." She mumbled with a breathless tone. She was suppose to die, not him.
I'm down here
And you're way up there
"Don't touch me." Kitana snapped at Duo while they waited outside of a hospital room. It was the last resort to enter a public health care facility.
Duo pulled her away from Heero earlier. She was so angry at him; she wanted to kill him, just to take this heightened feeling of empty out of her stomach.
She as well as the others had these feelings in their bodies, maybe except Quatre. He was naturally caring and involved more than the others. Perks to having a family, a piece of martial no one else had.
Wufei was standing next to Trowa with his `fuck this' glaring face. He'd changed barley in the 8 years she's known him. At 24 he was still an asshole, the one she actually beat up a few years ago. Since then Kitana and he hadn't really talked. Rumor had it that Heero found Wufei and beat him up also when he found out. Duo says it's cause Heero cares about Kitana; in a way he's never look at Relena.
But that doesn't hurt badly
But it stings right here
Relena
Heero loved her yes. Could he be with her, no. Heero loved her; she was peace, beauty, love, understanding and almost safety for this lost boy. She was sweet and kind, loving him in return. Relena asked nothing, and got nothing in return. Seeing Heero calmed her mind.
Kitana
She was Heero's double, but in a female. A hard ass, brutal, rough, and dangerous. Kitana had the same training, the same mind set, able to do anything even kill someone. Heero knew she didn't kill Relena, only after Heero shot her in the knee and threatened to kill her. She didn't spill, Duo did. Kitana would have died to keep her promise to Relena. And that's why Heero loved her too.
Kitana was the carbon copy, and the one who understood him. She was there for him, even when he didn't ask for it. Kitana was funny; she was capable of being nice and sweet.
And I won't pretend there's
Nothing there
You be around and I'll be square
Duo felt Kitana's mind floating away as Heero was no longer breathing, but needing a machine to breath for him. The pale colored walls washed out her thoughts, she was lost. She stood like a soldier in front of the window, her arms folded and her eyes unblinked, almost disconnected to her brain. Duo watched her from the chair directly behind her. Trowa walked over to Kitana. He and she were partners in crime on some missions, and if she wouldn't listen to Duo practically her brother, she'd listen too Trowa.
Trowa said nothing; he just stood next to her as a sign like `I'm here'.
Don't be alarmed if I'm not there
You be around and I'll be square
"It's strange." Quatre said while leaning in his chair, watching the scarce hallway pass with doctors. Duo listened while Quatre kept talking. "Until she came, you all seemed alone in the world. Until Kitana showed up, you four, well, three," Quatre changed his mind, Duo always cared. "Never really showed anything. Now Trowa is concerned, Wufei is silent but methodically thinking with concern." He almost laughed out loud.
"They never cared before. Heero loves her, he does. Trowa looks out for her. It's like she was our little troublesome child. We keep her alive, and in return, she keeps us alive." Quatre revealed the secret to their lives. Kitana's view on life wasn't to kill it, but mostly keep it. Yes, she did what she was told, always. But she was a human."
"Yup, I get ya." Duo said while leaning back in his chair, gazing at his surroundings viewing Trowa whispering something to Kitana.
If you're a rose
Then I'm the thorn
That's in your side
Kitana gripped Trowa's palm while leaning over and dropping her rose over the newly dug grave. For the past few days, all four of them stayed together in a hotel. Mostly to keep Kitana sane and safe, she was lifeless lately.
Heero dying didn't help either. Duo was no longer happy and smiling, he too lost something. Trowa stayed silent, it was his nature. Wufei, oh Wufei wants to find out what happened, how Heero's death came. But Kitana and Duo hadn't spoke of it and never plan too.
Wing
That's all that was written on the grave of a man, who like them, never existed.
And does it hurt badly
'Cause it burns right here
Months later Duo and Kitana still never spoke of the murder. Turns out Wufei killed about a dozen people, figuring out the killer. At least he thought.
Duo and Kitana spent almost a month searching, hunting and finding the shooter. He was s sniper from Brazil. Duo and Kitana made the effort to avenge Heero's murder, not allowing anyone else to take that from them. She and Duo saw eye to eye about it, about killing this man with pain and without compassion. Something they were great at.
Traveling to Earth, killing the shooter, it was something they would do with a smile.
I'd like to say hello
I'd like to say I care
I'd like to let you know
That nothing here's the same with me
Nothing here's the same
*GUN SHOT* It was almost poetic the way Duo shot his gun repeatedly as a warning, awhile Kitana held her gun pin point to the man's throat. The entry of the bullet would be like fire to ice, melting a whole burning threw the skin. Duo gripped Kitana's shoulder, wiling to tare her from watching the man bleed to death.
"C'mon," Duo muttered. Kitana tossed the gun out of her hands, and sneered at the dead body as Duo put his around her, forcing her to walk. Duo kept glaring out the corner of his eye while Kitana walked with his guidance. But she froze.
"Who's there?"
* * * * *
Kitana paced in her apartment. She was about to go into a panic attack.
Liar.
Duo lied, Trowa lied, and they all lied.
Kitana hadn't taken a normal breath for almost 1 year, and they lied. She shot the killer, she could swear to it. But no, he was never dead.
Heero
He never died. It was a show, a game that she was playing to believe. Kitana held her stomach, before getting it. Her eyes flickered and she was reaching for her gun. He lied, because after 1 year of hiding and faking, she got it. She understood now. Kitana locked her gun, and reloaded the bullets; she tied her jacket around her waist and then headed out her door.
And I can't recall myself
How I went down
Did I get shot
Or shoot myself
"Don't you DARE tell me what I can and can't handle Heero!" She yelled. Heero was sitting in his dim lit room, his legs slightly tripping her pace, and folded his arms. He wasn't paying attention, and she knew it.
"It's better this way." He retorted coolly.
"Was there another way? Why are you even bitching about what I can handle!! You die because it's easier for YOU!!" She yelled with passion and power. Heero stood up, the light shined on his back, she almost lost her breath.
"I died; it was easier for you to be wasn't it?" Heero asked a stupid question.
"But you didn't die asshole." Kitana snapped, Heero forced his large gripping hands onto her arms, locking them in his grasp. "All that was easier was for me to go get shot up." She added.
"My point taken." Heero growled, his face got close to hers, she was breathing low, looking into his black eyes. "You couldn't walk right unless you knew I was okay. That's not intelligent for a hired killer now is it?"
"I'm still alive."
"I'll get you killed."
"I can take care of myself!"
"That guy shot me Kitana! ME!!! It was for ME!! Not you! He was there to kill you cause he was after ME!" Kitana pulled her face back from his screaming. She felt vulnerable, and lost, she'd never felt like that before. At the same time, she wished to kiss him softly. They always ended up together from an argument.
"I'm fine."
"I'm not."
"Just because Relena died doesn't mean I will." She announced, Heero pulled back, tossing his grip from her like she was trash. Kitana turned, but stopped.
"You might," Heero's scorn sounded like he was going to kill her. Kitana bit her lip, and then struggled to say.
"Fuck it. I don't care."
"I do." Kitana felt her gut dip. He never was emotional, but at 25 you've gotta grow up sometime. Kitana turned around.
"I've been gimpless for a year Heero. And lying to me really doesn't give you any leeway with me. You should be dead for all I care. I was lied too so you wouldn't feel guilty as hell when Relena died! Guess what? I AM FINE!! I DON'T NEED YOU; I DON'T NEED YOUR PROTECTION OR SAVIOR!" Kitana yelled, she turned sharply on her heel and headed for the faint door. Heero gripped her forearm. She turned and tried to release his lock. But he was stronger than her. Kitana yanked harder on his grip, but he just stared into her eyes. Kitana sighed.
"Why do you do this to me?" She whispered, Heero touched her face softly and brushed a strand of hair from her face. Kitana closed her eyes and remembered the last time Heero was inside her, it was years ago. When ever he touched her body ached for him, his touch, his kiss his breath. She knew Relena had never had Heero, but Kitana had. Many times, she couldn't even count.
"If I don't save you, who will? Kitana, you're insane, you never double check anything and you're reckless." Heero mumbled before kissing her softly. Kitana felt his hand ripple over her back, and chest. She drew a breath and kissed him back. But as he took off her shirt, and Kitana tore off his, she stopped.
"No," She mumbled, but she couldn't pull away. She held him close while his tongue tangled with hers.
Don't be around
Don't be there
It was almost a day later when she woke up to see Heero looking out the window. Kitana lifted the sheet over her naked body and looked at him.
"What?" Kitana asked. Heero turned to her in his white boxers. He actually had been working out , she could tell last night and seeing him in the light, his body was thin, but all muscle.
"It wasn't simple for me." Heero stated. Kitana held her breath. He didn't want her to leave and she knew it.
"Come here." Kitana gave her gaze, and fluttered her eye lashes. Heero almost laughed while lowering himself to her. She gave herself to him again, and again.
At the moment she was with him, and he was with her. For the moment, they where content.
