The taste and smell of the other filled his senses as his tongue licked over the skin of the firm chest beneath him...

Duo's head snapped up as he woke from his daydream, his fingers still poised on the keys of the keyboard he had been working on. He shook his head and got back to working. Since AC 197 he had been working for various companies building firewalls and programs for them. Heero had worked with him until mid AC 198, when all of a sudden he just upped and left. The morning after the night they had been together.

Duo didn't ever think about why. He wouldn't let himself. 'What's done is done.'

"Riiiing…riiiiing…" The phone's chirpy bell awoke Duo.

"Who the hell is ringing at…" Duo paused to check his watch. "7:30 pm?!" He got up and answered the videophone. "Hello?"

The screen flickered into life. An older, yet familiar face appeared. Duo recognised the blue eyed platinum blond immediately.

"Quat! Hey man, long time no see!"

"Duo, this is not a casual call."

"…Oh." Duo felt strange when Quatre said that. Rejected. "So, whatcha need me for? I don't think Winner Co. need a lowly programmer like me to sort their computers out…"

"No. We need your skills…" Quatre hesitated. "…From the war."

"What?"

"There's just a minor faction trying to start another war, and all you need to do is sneak in and arrest them…"

Duo raised an eyebrow. "Why me, and not you, Trowa, Wufei or Heero?"

Quatre looked embarrassed. "Me, Trowa and Wufei have all tried and failed. We need you to sort this…"

"Why not Heero?"

"…With your stealth skills…"

"Why not Heero?!" Duo was beginning to get angry now. Why wouldn't Quatre just answer him?

"…Because…" Quatre sighed.

"Yea?"

"Heero was the one who started the faction."

With that sentence, Duo's world fell apart.
