Duo was born of a surrogate mother who died shortly after childbirth. His real parents died in the war before he
was even conceived. Duo was sent to an orphanage called "Maxwell Orphanage" when his surrogate mother died,
and grew up happily there until he was 7, when the orphanage lost government funding and was shut down. Duo
found himself on the streets of L2 at 7 years old, scavenging for food every day and stealing to live. He always
went to bed hungry. Every night he was afraid; so many questions ran through his head.."Where will I sleep?" "Is it
safe here?" "Will I starve before tomorrow?" Every night he was cold, and he had to sleep in an alleyway curled
into a ball, so hungry he couldn't sleep well even if he was warm enough.
When Duo was nine he was looking in trash cans for food when a man came up behind him and pushed him into
the cans, spilling garbage everywhere. Duo looked up at the man with a mixture of curiosity and fear, wondering
what was going on. The man only growled and began to lash out at Duo, beating him and the leaving him broken
and bruised and bloody in the alleyway. Duo didn't move at all for two days.
As Duo closed his eyes to die, he heard a voice from behind him saying "Hey...........are you
okay?......okay........okay....." The voice seemed distant to Duo..so far away. He wanted to open his eyes, to say
something--anything, but he was powerless. The voice only echoed through his head as he passed out.
Solo took him back to the shady shack where himself and a few other orphans stayed. He layed him on an old and
work blanket and covered him with another, assessing his damages as best he could. Solo decided to try and find
one of his old allys and see if he could help with this new boy's damages before something bad were to happen.
Solo rushed off to find his doctor.
Duo woke to see no one around. His eyes barely open, he felt warm; a feeling he rarely felt. He slowly moved his
eyes to his left and they fell upon the door. 'Where am I?' He tried to get up but the slightest flex of his muscles
sent sparks of pain shooting to every nerve in his upper body. He winced, the memories of getting beaten up
coming flooding back to his mind. Duo's eyes filled with tears as he wondered if the man who had beaten him had
kidnapped him. He was afraid and he couldn't do anything about it. Duo hated the feeling. Suddenly the dimmed
shack became lighted as the door opened and a boy walked through. After him followed an older man. Duo
whimpered. "Who are you? Where am I?" The boy smiled to him and came over by Duo's side and knelt. "My
name is Solo."
