All things will change
" Duo calm down. Please!" Director Une's pleas fell on deaf ears.
" I will not calm down until you tell me what you plan to do." the
braided man all but shouted, his face red from the emotions that coursed
through his body.
" I don't know yet, Duo, we have to plan our next move very carefully." Une replied
with a wearily, rubbing the bridge of her nose.
"But..."
" Go home, Duo. Get some rest." she said with a sigh, placing her glasses back on her face.
Duo nodded and stood up, preparing to leave.
" You will call me, won't you?"
" Yes, of course I will, Goodnight Duo,"
" Goodnight, Une." Duo said sadly as he left the office.
" I'll do what I can. " she whispered to the closing door, Duo's soft, retreating
foot-falls were her only reply.
* * * * * * * * * *
" Dammit." Zechs mumbled when he saw the vivid red numbers of hes alarm clock, it
was nearly two a.m. and someone was ringing the doorbell. With a groan, Zechs
carefully climbed over Odoroki, making sure not to wake him, he hissed as his
bare feet came in contact with the icy cold hardwood floor, tip-toeing so as
little of his foot touched the floor as possible, he made his way to the front door.
" What!" he growled, retching the door open, in mid ring, he was shocked speechless
when he saw Une standing on his door step with a similar shocked expression on
her face.
" Hello, Zechs." she said removing her hand from the doorbell and letting her self
into the apartment.
" Une. What are you doing here, and at such an ungodly hour.?" Zechs asked once he
regained the ability to speak.
" Two of my Preventer's saw you at the hospital this evening." She replied,
noting that one of his arms was casted and he had numerous bruises on his face.
" Yes, I was in a car accident, but I fail to see how that is any of your concern."
" They also saw the man you were with." she stated, siting in an arm chair and turning
to face the man head on.
" Odoroki? What about him?"
" He fits the description of a kidnapping victim." Zechs' stomach lurched, he remembered
what Xara has said concerning Odoroki's age ' He was either kidnapped or he lied.'
Zechs backed up to the sofa and sat down hard, he let his head hang for a moment before he turned to look at Une. Une's heart clenched at the haunted look in the blond's
eyes.
" W...what was the victim's name?"
" Heero Yuy." That was it, the final piece of the puzzle. The feeling that he
had met the boy somewhere before had never entirely gone away in the nearly two
years that they had
been together, and now Zechs knew why.
" Wing Gundam pilot 01? But if he is Yuy, then why did he not tell me?"
" I don't know, but I would like to talk to him or at least have Sally Po talk to him."
He doesn't talk."
" Pardon?"
" He's deaf, he doesn't talk anymore. Please, I need some time to think. Can I call
you?
" Yes, here is my office number, and Zechs, I really would like Sally to look him over,"
Zechs nodded as he led the woman to the door.
" A friend of mine, Dr. Xara Larsen, has been taking care of all of Odo... I mean Heero's
medical needs for the last to years. I'll call her and have her send both you and
Sally all of the information she has collected."
" Alright, and Zechs, today is Heero's birthday."
" Thank you, Goodnight."
" Goodnight." With that she was gone, changing everyone's lives forever.

but the next chapter
